After this experience I am officially done with Ironman 4x4. I purchased an Ironman awning and one of the main arms broke during normal use. When I contacted head office, I was told that the arm is a “non-replaceable component” and that no spare parts exist. Let me be clear about what that means: if a single arm breaks, the entire awning becomes… Read more
useless and the only solution is apparently to throw the whole product away.
For a company selling equipment designed for off-road travel and harsh outdoor conditions, this is honestly unbelievable. Any serious 4WD brand should provide basic spare parts for structural components.
What makes this even more disappointing is that I have invested a significant amount of money into Ironman products over the years. I expected a company of this size to stand behind its products and offer reasonable solutions when something fails.
Instead, the response I received was essentially: nothing can be done.
Because of this approach, I will not be purchasing Ironman products again. There are many other brands in the 4WD industry that support their customers and design products that can actually be repaired.
Very disappointing experience.
I would give 0 stars , but one guy did say "howzit going " from behind the desk, apart from that I made two trips into the Gympie store and had no interaction, nothing. No one was interested in greeting or acknowledging my wife and I presence just one cursory Howzit going. Their loss as I was looking for 2 suspension systems , one for my Defender and one for a Hilux. A terrible approach to a new customer .Wont go back. Show details
Recently purchased mn triton rear load helper springs, stock height, no front accessories, rear canopy +tow hitch. I put down a deposit in March for the new RAID roof rack system for my MV Triton, with a promised release date of early May. I planned a camping trip around that timing, but Ironman kept pushing the date back with no clear updates. After constant delays and no accountability, I cancelled the order. Would never recommend an Ironman Bullbar to anyone, I have a Ironman Bullbar on my Isuzu D-Max- the Bar is not even 2 years old and is completely stuffed- all the paint has flaked off it and rusted (It’s never seen the coast) . And Ironman had the audacity to not warrant the product. Very disappointing, would never recommend any of there products.
Poor build quality! Not happy Ironman! – My mechanic installed a rear bar on my 2021 amarok. The bar had paint missing from the box. A bolt hole on one side needed grinding so the bolt would fit. The other side needed grinding to remove 5mm off a side bracket. The U bolts that fit over the rails were too short for washers and lock washers. Struggled just to get the nuts on. The sensor… Read more
brackets when fitted point to the ground causing the sensors to go off constantly in reverse. They need to be level with the ground!!! You'd think they would have sorted these issues since 2010. Pretty disappointed with the installation instructions that lacked details. You can't even buy after market parts like sensor brackets or double sided tape. Do better Ironman!
Great, helpful and IN STOCK !! Chev ZR2 side steps – Rang Jason Murphy at Capalaba Ironman 4x4 after searching everywhere online for good quality sidesteps to suit our new ZR2 Chev Silverado. Nathan and the team at Thomastown (VIC) store were super helpful. Although I didn't purchase anything in the end, they spent 30 mins or so looking at my car's requirements in detail and also talking me through and showing me on my car what they were referring to and why what I had from my old care wouldn't work on my new car - I walked away fully informed. If I ever need to buy any related gear - I'll go there for sure. Show details

Ironman 4x4 2m x 2.5m awning failed rivets – After only a couple of uses, I noticed the rivets that hold the awning material to its frame were missing. They had broken away. Ive now got a 20mm gap between the body and bar on the right and a 25mm gap on the left.

Front counter great - Manager - totally shunned their error and the damage they caused to our vehicle – Bought and booked in two bullbars from Iron Man Rocklea to be fitted. Westpoint service after doing a full inspection made the following statement on diagnosing the cars lighting system.
"As per my previous email, you have requested Westpoint Autos to rectify your issue with bull bar wiring, head lamp replacement and harness that may have been damaged by fitting the bull bar. After replacing the head lamp and the wiring harness the issue of head lamp not working is rectified. The reason these components were required to be replaced, we believe is due to the wiring for the head lamp being done incorrectly. This tampered with the wiring harness which caused the left head lamp and loom to have shorted.
Its cost us $5,500 to have it fixed plus $900 to have the checks done to determine the extend of the damage. Brand new work vehicle off the road for weeks (10) to be exact due the fact they chopped into the loom instead of having a connector to connect their lights to the harness like others do.
Avoid this particular shop at all costs. When they stuff it up they will blame you.
Also never fit bull bars to cars with LED headlights where they where they cut into the looms as apparently lots of places have had issues with fitting services blowing things up splicing into looms.

Nightmare – This company has been a nightmare to work with... I purchased an aftermarket suspension for my Nissan Xterra for approximately $2,500 in November 2021. no expertise to help me with this process, and it was all utlimately completed via trial and error and by consulting online forums of other people having similar issues. Then, about a 2 years later, I received a notice regarding a recall of one of the parts, advising me not to drive the vehicle until I received the replacement part from them. That was 7 months ago, and they still have no ETA on when the replacement part will be available to me. Their latest advice is for me to shop for another upper control arm from a different manufacturer, and they will reimburse me... Their service team is rude and unresponsive, they treated me with an unwarranted amount of "attitude" rather than being kind or apologetic in any way for the massive inconvenience that this has caused. No one can just go without their vehicle for 7 months... Therefore my safety and the safety of my family has been compromised as I do need to continue driving the vehicle, and don't have a spare vehicle that I can use while I wait for an indetermined amount of time for this company to follow through with their recall replacement. I am very tempted to hire a lawyer to see what recourse is available... Meanwhile, I highly recommend anyone in the market for 4x4 parts to STAY AWAY from Ironman 4x4.
Back order – Parts are good quality but they're terrible at getting stock in, ordered suspension in December received half which I fitted to the rear and was told the rest shouldn't be long and now it's been on back order for over 2 months and delayed again, cars been sitting since then unusable. Bullbar and Lightbar - Genuine Ironman products – 'Our products are designed in Australia and distributed throughout the world'. bar, protecting the underbody frontend. However, the bar visibly vibrates on a rough country bitumen road, which makes it look very inferior to my TJM fitted to the 2000 Cruiser. The Ironman lightbar was very wide and looked great, fitted by Ironman, to the bullbar, however, aimed at the road perhaps five metres in front of the vehicle, it was next to useless. I thought that adjustment would be simple, but not so at all, so I contacted the Ironman dealership who fitted the products. No help whatsoever and I was given poor and incorrect advices; grrrrrrrrrrr. Finally, took it to another Ironman dealership, where the poor bugger spent almost an hour, trying not to drop his spanner, with access beneath the light bar fixed bracket. Haven't tried it in the dark yet, but at least it faces forward not down in front of the vehicle. One of the most stupid designs imaginable; oh yeah, did I mention (Our products are designed in Australia)? I would not recommend even considering Ironman products, if they are all designed like this bullbar and lightbar.

Dealers are not qualified, products are rubbish, Rust issues – Ironman Commercial Deluxe Bullbar We had a bullbar fit by Tassie 4x4 whom is an Ironman dealer, its important to note that the car had 1000 kms on the odometer at the time of the install. painted this would have prevented over spray on the car as they were planning to paint the bar on the car. - Butchered the wiring no conduit over exposed wires - Sensors have never worked correctly since fitment - Collision Sensors Malfunction - Rust on the bar where the install has been done as fitment is scrubbing on painted surfaces. - Damaged the trans-cooler fins when installing the bar car had 1000 kms on the odo when install was done. - Bar squeaks and moves
I had taken the car back three times to this business and they had done nothing but make the issues worse, they did not take responsibility for the oil cooler instead they had a third party involved who didnt know the story, the head mechanic had realised they had damaged the cooler and took responsibility initially, we had to pay out of pocket to have the car assessed at a dealer to see if they would honor warranty if issues arise, after spending hours on the phone to this company they would not take responsibility.
We escalated the issues to Ironman 4x4 head office as the sensors are a constant issue and the other problems such as complaint with tassie 4x4, it took the business 8 months to come back to us, after numerous promises to follow up with us via their facebook messages, these issues nothing ever got resolved, We still waiting to get a call back from one of the managers to see what can be done.
You pay more with other brands, Ironman 4x4 are more competitive with price, but that comes at a cost to the customer later on having to deal with issues when not if they arise.
They quoted something they do not have – They quoted us roof racks available in two weeks and after 2 months they still do not have an answer of when I can get it. Toxic Workplace – Melbourne Head Office, Dandenong South: A company that blatantly breaches legal employment contracts, and when brought to they're attention they completely ignore the issue. Mainly Caucasian male workers, and that's how you progress in your role. Stay away from this toxic company.
Liars and cheats – Last month I ordered from Ironman Bega a long range fuel tank to fit a Mazda BT50 Single Cab. It did arrive in good time, but on unpacking it was obvious both that it could not possibly fit, and… Read more
that it had seen life elsewhere. The instructions were dirty and obviously well used, required fitting parts were missing, the tank ports were loosely sealed with blue masking tape and there was dirt and dust inside.
I returned it and Drew said I would get a refund. But after waiting some time no refund arrived, so I contacted him again. He said that the print on the invoice stated no returns on brought in items so I would not get a refund. He further said that the tank would fit if I lifted the tray - yes, it would, but the tray would need to be lifted by over a hundred millimetres. This is totally impractical. That would require an engineers certificate, and with our slide on camper it would no longer fit in our shed.
Ironman winch controller is garbage – I bought an ironman 9500lb winch approx 4 years ago. I fitted it myself making sure all instructions were followed to the tee. it & clean it out to keep it working.
The wireless winch controller is the most poorly designed piece of garbage I have ever seen. The battery in it goes flat over time despite me being very careful to turn it off every time after use. There is two batteries inside it, one appears to be rechargeable but its only for the torch in the controller, & the other is an a23 12v battery, which is pretty hard to find unless you buy it from a specialist battery shop. Bunnings sell them, but this isn't exactly handy when you are stuck in the bush with a dead winch.
To replace this battery you need to unscrew & pull the controller right appart, but the most annoying thing is that once the battery is flat, the controller & winch will no longer work at all, even if the controller is plugged directly into the winch with the supplied cable.
I have decided to replace the winch with a better brand & I have given up completely on it.
I also bought an ironman bullbar at the se time as the winch. 4 to 5 years later, the powdercoat has faded badly as well as the rubber boots on the bullbar, & the plastic fog lamp surrounds. It looks terrible because of this. For the money I spent, I expect far better quality.
I would not recommend an ironman product to anybody.
12 volt pump is crap – Bought a ironman 12 volt pump it was noisy made lights flicker and had electrical smell. Took back to their store for a refund which is a 3 hour drive away.
