The new user interface is difficult to navigate. Specifically to browse other tutors and chats with current tutors. I loathe the idea that you've created a virtual pet that potentially dies if I don't visit or use your website enough. What a way to force unessasary features on your users. My tutors are great, the platform should have put more thought into the changes.

Teachers are great and the service works well. Having their own classrooms is great as I don't have to worry about which software is used for the lesson and can just be done through the website. I've been using it for lessons for quite a few years and will probably continue to do so. Only down side are the recent changes to the website have made it much harder to navigate on desktop. Show reply

website change is very confusing and turns me off product. used to be a simple website to help find tutors, i really dislike the 'gamification' and AI implementations. just go back to being a simple platform to link students and teachers please.

I don't really use the platform anymore. I found the tutors to be very rude, critical and judgemental. Support is unhelpful as well. The complaints procedures favour the tutors. The new platform is horrible as well. After having such a negative experience with many classes, I decided to look at other options.

I used ITalki in the past, but the current version of the app is really clunky, not able to use filters etc, so I gavenup and tried another company.

Have been really happy with my two teachers. Navigating timezones was initially a challenge for lesson times that worked. Teachers adapted to my learning needs by helping with specific words, conversations and medical situations with additional word charts and selected scenarios. Have had a lot of fun. Fees, GST for Aussies – I have been using iTalki to learn French, Croatian and spasmodically Spanish. Apparently in Oct 2022 the Australian Government decided that Australian users will have to pay GST. This was never communicated by iTalki. Further to this, they add the 10% GST onto USD rates. a fee for credit card or any other method - this is standard these days but they calculate the GST on the Fee that a teacher charges and their credit card fee. For example $80 USD plus their fee $3.61 iTalki processing fee and then 10% GST $8.36 = $91.97 USD - AUD amount $137.13 - for January payment (depends on exchange rate). Very disappointing, and they insist teachers keep raising their rates. Well, I guess I have rethink my language learning on this site and find a local.
