Excellent lounge suite – Purchased our lounge over 13years ago . All leather no faux leather . This lounge has had many fur babies on it and has held up its end of the bargain . Could not be happier with it .

We have a Janda lounge, (Non pile fabric) – We have a Janda lounge, (Non pile fabric) years ago. It is so comfy and soft, the fabric is all season, it's long enough to lay on comfortably and the armchairs feel real snug ~ we love it. Show details

The Original Janda Leather Lounge 25 years of use and looks fantastic. 100% Australian leather and solid wood frame – This Original Janda Leather Lounge has had 25 years of use and looks fantastic. Australian leather all over and solid wood frame. There is no trademark protecting use of the name that I know. Don't confuse use of the name with cheap products using faux leather . Their website is not active as at 2021 and they don't appear to be trading any more. Original Janda Furniture, Secine Pty Ltd Brisbane  Show details

Expensive rubbish – Purchased 2 Janda by Synargy Alton Lou ER /Fab*Seal motorized recliner chairs at considerable cost. The upholstery has De-laminating on all wear areas. It is not leather. It is "faux leather" I suspect or even vinyl. The import company is Synargy, based in QLD (I'm ashamed to say). Synargy should make efforts to rectify this problem. I am out of… Read more

warranty. Do you self a favour and NEVER buy furniture upholstered with this cheap rubbish. Incidentally, the cost to replace the motors in the chairs is hundreds of dollars. The whole product is a waste of money. Buyer be aware.

Lounge Suite & Recliners - not all leather – I bought a leather 3 seater with 2 recliners & have been very happy with them until recently when I noticed the back of the lounge cushion & recliner foot lift are made of vinyl not leather. I don't understand why you would make a lovely leather lounge & finish parts of it in vinyl. These parts are starting to break up & fall apart, not very impressed as the rest of the lounge is fine. Show details

Best product ever – My wife and I love our Janda recliners. We have had them for 20 odd years now and still going strong. It's disappointing to learn that they are permanently closed. We would purchase the Janda product again without hesitation, regardless of the cost.

Janda Recliner – Purchase this recliner second hand and the first time I sat down all i could think and feel was comfort! Very good quality leather, sturdy construction. I am truly impressed and am not the only person that has used this recliner with the same thoughts. I googled the brand and found it was closed permanently which is sad to find. Quality 100%

Excellent product – Brought our Janda lounge 20 years ago at Harvey Norman, couldn't be happier with it still completely in tack. It's just starting to show sighs of wear. Having a hard time trying to find something to replace it.

great design, appalling construction – Janda no longer trade anymore. Probably just as well. Love the design of our lounge suite, but when the frame broke, and I see it has structural elements made out of ...particle board ! seriously ? this is the stuff only the very cheapest shipping pallets would be made from (and this frame is probably recycled from). At least the leather is real… Read more

on mine though. I can see I will be told by the repairer that this is cheaply made crap not worth repairing. I will probably repair it myself with steel or aluminium.

Not Australian anymore – Purchased 2 x 3 seater good Aussie Janda .half lounge recliners..the seats have collapsed 3 times...steel mechanisms are strong but the timber frames are particle board not hardwood, the spring mounts pull out of the frames... My lounges pricey by Janda are made in China ...poor job Janda

Absolute Cheap imported Rubbish Coverings – Purchased an Expensive $6000 Janda Lounge suite The 2 Seater 2150 mm 3 Seater 2550 mm that was "New Age Leather" in other words Man Made Leather from composite leather material made in China. stories as previous reviews. Unavailable or away!

I read them the riot act as I'm in Solid Timber Furniture manufacture myself and then was sent new covers for me to have upholstered at my expense only to discover the wrong covers were posted and they have gone out of business !!!

Thankfully : ) not affecting any one else in the future. Avoid any company associated with this product at all.

brilliant – I have 2 recliners from my mother and are in excellent condition, and where made in 2000. Real soft leather, from real cowhides. Made in Virginia, Brisbane. Was going to sell them, but have decided to keep them in the family. All stitching excellent, and all still in good condition. No Complaints.

Excellent service from Janda – Bought a lounge and two recliners for just over $5K and even though it was out of warranty they exchange it due to colour fade for another set, different colour but was happy to except.

Hard leather lounge praised for quality – Purchased Janda hard leather lounge just on ten years ago and today a leather cleaner came to clean the lounge and raved over the quality of the leather and the current condition of the lounge. This lounge has lasted through two teenage boys and a husband who is a little rough on furniture. Highly recommend.

JANDA History – I bought my first and only lounge suite in 1986 at $2895.00, a 3 seater plus 2 chairs – Carolina. Had this same lounge suite reupholstered etc. in 2000 for $2000.00 incl. GST by one who formerly worked for JANDA Furniture in Brisbane. Near 30 years later this same JANDA lounge suite is structurally intact, the second upholstery has not faded nor… Read more

torn, zip seat cushions can be washed; inner seat foam can easily be replaced (at CLARK Rubber). Yet only the couch sags as you’d expect after 15 years.

To date, I have to rethink my buying JANDA… on the basis of their utmost boring colour range and fabric! Plus JANDA is no longer; Made in Australia.

For me the “HUSTLER” (couch) appealed to me at first for comfort, length and neck support after a lengthy trial, but I soon realised the soft arm rest cushions would flatten out in no time. The lack of arm support and inability to really clean this couch did not suit my needs. Scotch Guard is available at extra cost. Plus the design and style of the HUSTLER appears more like a (dark) blob of pillow furniture.

However the operating mechanism for this couch to recline is far superior to others. Once fully reclined it does not move about as much (as other’s) if you wish to slide over and cuddle someone :) and retracting the seat was extremely easy for my Senior Parent.

[+] High neck support and great reclining mechanism

[-] Lack of colour and fabric selection

Bad lounge – After reading the story above it almost mimics my problems however my lounge is only 3 years old has come apart at the seems from under the lounge so not wear and tear just poorly manufactured. It now has the frame piercing the fabric in all corners. I originally made the complaint to Harvey Norman within the 12 month warranty time frame was… Read more

stuffed around there for so long that the 12 months then passed they ensured me they would fix the lounge and that they were dealing with Janda in Brisbane. After 3 months had passed I made my own enquiries and contacted Janda myself were I dealt with Michelle who I emailed all the details to including photos of the lounge and its problems. I then called her back 3 weeks later as I hadn't heard anything to be told she was on holidays and I would need to re-send my email. After doing this I called them back to make sure they received it, they had. Weeks again went pass were I would call them and no one that was dealing with my issue was in or sick on another call and they would call me back. Nothing

Eventually after 7 months of dealing with this horrible company and there incompetent staff I was told bad luck the lounge is out of warranty there is nothing we can do to help. Basically go away. My lounge was very expensive and should not have fallen apart at the seems the way it has and still is. I would never recommend this company to anyone as some products maybe faulty and this is understandable but for the poor service that you then have to deal with is not acceptable.

Very disappointed - piece of garbage! – We purchased our second Janda after being so happy with first - bad mistake, stuffing started to collapse & frame started to warp making huge gap between 2 recliners. doesn't line up, seats out of alignment etc. Apparently Janda won't replace. I could understand if we were big people or had kids living at home but no to both of those. I have also discovered that original Janda was made in Aust but now made o/s.

Am telling anyone I know buying a lounge to steer clear of Janda!!!

Janda York chase suite – I have had my Janda York Chase suite for 4 years and very happy with it, so much so, my daughter has bought exactly the same suite. Recently I have noticed that it appeared to sag a little. I told HN and they said that it will be the foam and not the base, all of the base cushions have been replaced under warranty and it's just like brand new.

York modular sofa/chaise – We bought this for 1500 AUD 3 years ago from Harvey Norman for our home theatre. It is still in mint condition, although we have pets (1 dog/1 cat) hopping up occasionally for a cuddle. I thought it was a bargain and we are still happy with it. (Came across this site by coincidence as I was looking for the dimensions of the matching barrel chair… Read more

and if it can be taken apart for easier transport. Saw this chair at HN yesterday and fell in love with it.) I would definitely recommend this to a friend who is looking for a lounge suite that looks impressive yet not overwhelming in a fairly small room, is happy to rearrange cussions for individual comfort and doesn't need it for a high traffic area of the house. Good looking, comfortable to sit on (and even fall asleep in), versatile as the two parts can be separated

Prepare to pay big bucks for crap product that cost a fortune and lasts minimally- – $6000 price tag on a lounge suit that you could expect to last your kids into their teens?...I would have to say the lounge started deteriorating within 12-18 months... Within 4 years the lounge was a complete write off.. The leathermix it is made of is sheer rubbish...I thought it was actual leather when I bought it, thinking for that sort of… Read more

money I would get a long time out of the lounge...

The company I dealt with rang Janda on my behalf and had a cool response and really didn't want anything to do with a complaint...The company I bought the lounge through, then gave me Jandas' number and when I rang them, I was treated with disrespect and attitude and they had no intention of listening to me whatsoever!

Appalling!

Do not...Deal with this company..

They make a crap product for a hefty price and treat you like dirt if you dare to speak up for yourself..

Get the word out people I like that it was a big lounge and i could sit 2 people comfortably in the single chair_eg: Read to my children in the living room while other family sat on the other lounge-Room for a big family lounge The material it is made of deteriorates quickly.... Under the impression it was leather when i bought it... I bought an ottoman to match and wooden leg structure fell out...

Very disappointed in Janda leather lounge suite – We purchased a leather lounge form Janda 4 years ago thinking we would pay for a good leather lounge. Well the leather is starting to crack on the arms. I have always used leather conditioner on it and still it is cracking. It certainly isnt real leather. Looks just like a coating of leather. Just rubbish. The lounge itself is comfortable and we… Read more
