Beyond Terrible experience dealing with Jims Blinds Shutters and Awnings. in the area to install a new curtain as the franchisee has left the business. The best offer they would do was to engage an airtasker which i refused as I had paid for a professional service. The situation remains unresolved. Absolutely disgusting customer service.

someone to fix the issue. Despite saying we didn't want the original installer back because of his poor behavior (which went beyond the poor install) they scheduled him accidentally. While they called us in the morning to advise, by that time we were desperate so got him to attend anyway. As soon as he left and we were putting our child to bed we noticed he hadn't fixed it properly and light was pouring from the top. Then the blind failed a day later, the left track left too loose so the blind was just popping out of its black out track. The company has gone so far as to tell us we can't have any of our aircon on when the blind is rolled down, anywhere in the house, which is obviously unreasonable, or the blind will keep failing, so they are taking no responsibility for the poor quality of their blind. Don't bother with expensive motorized blinds. Who knows if they will work and if not, the slowness of the service is saddening, and the company may blame you for any issues. We are still waiting for a refund or for it to be fixed.

Must have for shift workers – Couldn't be more pleased with the product or service Aaron provided. As a shift worker, the Coverlight blind is a game changer. Here are just some of the issues we’ve encountered: • Incorrect blinds installed: We clearly requested bright white blinds across all four units and even took photos during the consultation. [Name Removed] installed a stark white blind in our unit and an off-white/yellow blind in the unit next door — then gaslit us by insisting this was what we had asked for. • Disorganised and unreliable: His record-keeping is messy, and he consistently “forgets” conversations and instructions, whether discussed in person or over the phone. • Safety hazard: One of the blinds fell off its track and nearly hit our 6-month-old baby while we were changing her. [Name Removed] deflected responsibility, blaming it on the supplier. • Damage during installation: He damaged walls in our brand-new townhouse, then attempted to cover it up using green painter’s tape — trying to pass the blame onto our builder by disguising it as part of the builder’s fix list. When we confronted him, he offered free fly screens as compensation. We agreed, but now he denies ever making the offer and instead wants to send in his own patch-up team — which we no longer trust. • Unfulfilled work and poor communication: Despite taking deposits from all four townhouse owners, blinds still haven’t been fully installed more than six weeks later. Communication is minimal at best, and he refuses to resolve the colour issue or refund our money.

This experience has been deeply disappointing — especially from a Jim’s franchise, which we expected to hold higher standards. We strongly advise others to steer clear of this business.

The attention to detail during both the consultation and installation was impressive, and the final result shows the care they put into their work. The blinds and shutters were delivered in great condition and the installation was hassle-free.

Not happy, poor service – The work consisted of 9 vertical blinds in 3 rooms, 5 inset into the window and 4 mounted over french windows. The installers arrived on the allocated day and about on time. It took a number of attempts to install the first inset track which… Read more

started concern me. When in place and the blades installed they were too long, dragging on the window sill. " Don't worry I will get new ones made".

Next was over a french window. Stand off brackets, track and blades installed, on to next window. Question - "Why are the blades dragging on the floor" Answer - "Oh we need to raise them" which they did.

At this stage I had to leave as I was becoming frustrated. When I returned they were nearly finished.

"We are going to come back, they have given us the wrong brackets" Question - "Don't you carry spares"? No answer.

4 windows had no pelmets "That was not in the quote". Surely if 5 windows had pelmets the salesman (who was one of the installers) would have asked do you want them all the same! The pelmets stand away from the wall which leaves a gap, when asked if there was a return from the front facia to the wall the answer was they do not supply them. When viewed from the front they look ok, but from an angle you see the gap, track and workings - ugly.

To sum up, The initial measuring was done poorly. The installers appeared poorly trained and learning on the job. No spares carried in case of the above event. Pelmet returns nee to be supplied.

Not happy with this experience and would definitely not recommend this company.

 Follow-up  · The new blades were made and installed. We were told the pelmet gap was just the way they come, after some “discussion “ and internet searches of other suppliers they relented and installed the returns that finished the pelmets properly. Needless aggravation.

I had one of the worst experiences dealing with Jim’s Blinds. The initial consultation was great, they took measurements on the day and said it will take around 6-8 weeks until installation which fit our timeframe. From there on, the experience was terrible. They had to come out 2 more times to re-measure because they kept doing it wrong or not… Read more

saving the details meaning I had to keep taking time off.

Then when it came to installing which I needed to keep following up myself as it was much longer than the 8 week turnaround time, the installer came out only to find he had been given the wrong product. The curtain tracks did not match the curtains, therefore could not be hung. The blinds didn’t have the right draw cords, so not all could be hung.

He gave the feedback onto the office staff who assured me it would be fixed next time they came out. I then had to follow up again as their timeframe stated blew out again. Once they finally came, the products were wrong again and still couldn’t be installed. Another waste of time and waste of leave taken at work.

When speaking to the office staff, they profusely apologised for the error and assured me it would be fixed. By this point, they had come to my house 5 times and the job was half done. This had taken around 5 months so far.

Finally after more following up from my end, they came out and installed the remaining curtains. I found the curtain rods were not the same size and asked that new ones be sent out that matched so I can replace them.

The office staff assured me this would happen, however a year later and I’m still waiting for them and waiting to hear back.

This is by far the worst company I have dealt with. The lack of detail managed by the office staff is shocking. Having to remeasure a job three times because they did not save the details is terrible. Then having to send installers a further 3 times with the wrong products is another shocking experience.

You couldn’t pay me to use this company again. I strongly recommend never using Jim’s blinds for your property.

was promised 6 months is what I will get per charge if operated twice per day. Reality- 3-6 weeks. I have notified Jim’s blinds and they have said they will replace all the motors but nearly 4 months later and I’m still chasing them up. I don’t get replies to text messages nor returned phone calls. Customer service is a disgrace. Excuse after excuse. Next step is Consumer Affairs Vic and DBDRV. I should not be having to go down this road. DO NOT USE JIMS BLINDS.

ladder, and immediately began complaining. He asked my partner to assist him because he couldn’t do the job alone. She explained she was working and could not leave her responsibilities, nor was it appropriate for her to perform physical work that we specifically hired the company to handle.

At that point, Chi became verbally aggressive, raising his voice and pointing his finger at her repeatedly. It was an extremely distressing situation, especially alone in her own home. He then left the apartment shouting that he wasn’t going to do the job without the extra help he was requesting.

Afterwards, he called me. When I told him that his behaviour was unacceptable and he should have arrived prepared, he responded with: “Are you going to listen to me or continue blah blah blah.” I have never encountered someone so disrespectful, and I ended the call because I will not engage with that level of aggression.

It was a horrible experience from start to finish. Don’t hire this company.

completely 25th February 2025 - Complaint lodged with Jims immediately and blind removed 26th February by the franchisee - Despite complaints raised to several Jim’s staff (by phone initially, [Name Removed], [Name Removed], [Name Removed] and the franchisee directly), allegedly the “repaired” blind had not been received by the franchisee - Jim’s keep blaming the franchisee, the franchisee keeps blaming Jim’s.

To date, NO ONE has taken accountability. 1. Time from quote to installation: 90 days 2. Time from installation to faulty blind collapsing: 4 weeks 3. Time from collapse to now without a resolution: 8.5 months

How does it take only 90 days from initial quote stage to installation but a further 8 months post installation (so far) without a resolution?

Doesn’t add up. Completely unacceptable by any standard.

is yet to get back to us. We were originally promised a 10-year warranty for any fault not caused by us, but now we're being told the warranty is questionable because it's been over six months since installation. This is false marketing and a complete failure in customer service."

We had blinds installed back in March. They were guaranteed to be 100% black out & cost a pretty penny. They were meant to be backed by a workmanship and product guarantee. office is being no help. Really unhappy with the service and product. I’ve put off leaving this review for a few months to give them time to rectify but they are now not responding. Definitely do not recommend.

What ever you do, do not use Jim’s for your outdoor blinds. Their blinds are garbage, they exaggerate the quality and performance of their blinds. Ordered and paid in full an external blind to match previously supplied ones, waited 4 months for installation. to return. When they did come back they again had the wrong brackets, at least this time the smart installer had an Uber bring the correct ones, thanks Jamie for finally finishing off a lengthy ordeal. Total incompetence and terrible service once they get your money.

Ended up installing 4 months later and still doing it wrong. As of today (one year from deposit) I'm still chasing them to fix their errors. No Apologies, No Sorry - instaed rude, unprofessional and showing no concern for customer, have caused me a year of distress.

Year later im still following up with them to come and rectify their problems as the blind have come out of its side tracks and other is soggy on one side. They have moved that date twice already.

Have called them again. They don't follow up or tell me what their plan is to rectify the issue.

come out was there solution. Which mind you they were still creased after 2 weeks of keeping them down. I have attached all the photos .

On the 2/11/24 they had someone they out sourced to assess the damaged blinds . Conclusion they were only going to replace 2 blinds as the rest of the creases in all the other blind will eventually come out . On the 14/12/24 I had them come out to install the replaced blinds which again were damaged ( photos attached which are circled in red) I sent another email with photos expression my frustration .

On the 4/2/25 through email I was told that the x2 blinds have again been remade and Luke from the installation department will contact me to organize a date for them to be installed .

10/2/25 [Name Removed] called and we had booked in for the 23/4/25 for them to be replaced and that he would contact me closer to date with a time , as I couldn’t take anymore time off work during the week which it had to wait until I was on AL.

On the 2/4/25 I contacted [Name Removed] to touch base with the installation of new blinds and advised that I wouldn’t be available in the morning of the 23/4 but the afternoon I was free.

On the 7/4/25 he responded and told me the initial installer no longer works for them and a new installer has been appointed but they go on their own scheduling and they will contact me and try there best to stick to the date we had booked.

That’s was the last time I heard from Jim blinds until I received a email on 23/5/25 Stating that the repayment of my blinds have been completed and the remaining amount was outstanding … the second replacement of blinds weren’t even installed yet . I have never experienced such a dysfunctional non professional company in my life .

The major stuff around they have done with me is an absolute joke .

Mind you they want you to pay in full before the installers arrive to install blinds Thank gosh I didn’t pay them which I was never followed up on and worked in my favor because once they were installed the quality was absolute rubbish .. And have been waiting for them to replace these 2 blinds they were suppose to do back in April.

Avoid using them if you don’t want the major stuff around .

Avoid Jim's Blinds Double Bay. Poor customer service, actively lies about timelines, parts etc., communicates exeremly poorly. Will never use again, recommend to others to avoid as well.

laughed about the quality of screenaway and how Jim’s products were far superior. We wanted 4 blockout blinds installed on one side of our house, I was told the job would take 1 day to complete. The first day [Name Removed] turned up, it was pretty clear he had little idea what he was doing. He dropped the blind in our master and damaged the wall. He later paid for the damage to be repaired. He Kept having to call the supplier, blaming the blinds when things weren’t working and by the end of the day we had 2 blinds hung, none of which worked. The end of the day being 730pm when my husband kicked him out because we needed to get our daughter to bed. Equipment was allegedly turning up broken which added to [Name Removed] issues as well. Another Jim’s member turns up with [Name Removed] the next day, not sure what his purpose was seeings as he did very little labour. The two of them took 5 days to complete the blinds! The craftsmanship is messy, the frames of the blinds don’t sit flush with the window frames, expander foam is visible in gaps, small slivers of light are still visible in places, the charging ports don’t line up correctly with the holes which makes plugging them in very difficult. Fast forward 2 years and we are still having issues. [Name Removed] has had to come out at least 6 times since then to fix issues, multiple parts have had to be re ordered and replaced. And in our most recent issue [Name Removed] actually sent me a pdf with instructions on how to try and repair the blinds myself to ‘save on a service fee’. Not sure why we would be incurring a service fee when the last time he attempted to repair that same blind was only 9wks ago. He also mentioned that there would be a fee involved if the 12 month warranty had lapsed on the parts, well luckily for us [Name Removed] we haven’t had that issue yet seeings as the master blind hasn’t made it that long without breaking!! AVOID THIS BUSINESS LIKE THE PLAGUE

find that nothing fits, all measurements are wrong. Now we need to wait for all blinds and shutters to be made again. No response as yet from the sales manager. The guys installing which is a seperate company had to go round and measure every window all over again. Hopefully it’s third time lucky as these delays from Jim’s blinds and shutters are now delaying our move in date. Not impressed so far.

the coverlight blinds expand and contract with heat and cold from outside which makes the blinds buckle and crease. These needed to be replaced with normal blinds and then they had to fix all the holes in the framing from the coverlight frames

the outdoor blinds dropped and buckled pretty much straight away and had to be replaced

ALL the shutters were measured wrong so that we couldn't even adjust them. These are an item that need to be ordered from overseas so there will big delays with this

we have had soooooooo many Jims Blinds tradies through this house and been assigned different managers I have lost count and this whole process has been going on for more than a year

They had the excuse that the guy who measured and quoted dropped the ball and had been dealt with but then shutters were measured wrong two more times

Heck even after they installed a battery operated indoor blind the damn thing fell and broke our window frame and damaged the newly repaired window frame

The whole process has been a circus and I have held off writing any reviews because they have attempted to fix all their errors. But last week they decided to send me an nasty email advising me I had money outstanding with a seven day warning. This was the first I had received ANY notification that any funds were outstanding and the tone and threat of the email was beyond rude.

Absolute nerve after everything we have ever so patiently put up with them

Terrible experience – Terrible service. After paying the amount in full , they kept cancelling installation appointment and no matter how many times I reach out to them , they just keep promising to resolve the issue with no action taken. More than a week since i paid in full, curtains are not installed yet. Very disappointed.
