well. She was very clever in guiding us and offering her concepts and ideas without being pushy or overbearing. We certainly did appreciate her professional manner and laugher as well.

With such a big renovation, a number of “tradies” came through our door. We live in an apartment block, so it was at times difficult gaining access, lifts, noise reduction and so on. At all times every tradie was respectful, mindful of our circumstances, on time and impeccable in cleaning up afterwards. More importantly, they were experts in their field, knew their profession, well experienced and if they had an apprentice assisting there was appropriate supervision. Ever so impressed.

Overseeing such a huge event we had the fortunate support of Paul Wilson. He was always available by phone, visited frequently and responded and offered excellent solutions if any little issue arose.

While all trade’s people were terrific, special recognition should be given to Ben ( Cabinet installer), Blake (Electrical) , Brad (Plumbing) and Robbie (Demolition). Also, not forgetting the lovely Eliza who managed the accounts.

We lived in the apartment while the work was being done and each trade was aware that our living circumstances were challenging at times, so they made allowances when required.

So a big thank you to Dawn and her amazing team. We now have a dream kitchen and stunning bathrooms.

This has been our first big renovation process that involved a variety of trades which truthfully seemed a bit daunting especially in times of trade shortage. Ben and his team have done an extraordinary job in turning our old dark kitchen into the jewel of the house. I would not recommend this company – I started planning my kitchen project with Joyce kitchens in October 2021. I went through the selection process and compared to other companies, the saleswoman at Joyce was not as thorough as the others were. enormous amount upfront and waited. They had ripped out my kitchen a couple of days Christmas.....and then nothing til January. So I was left with no kitchen over the holiday period. Thanks Joyce! There was obviously miscommunication about what walls needed to be knocked out between Joyce, myself and the trades. It was a debacle trying to get what we wanted correct with the trades as they are getting instructions from Joyce that were not what we had discussed. There was a beam that needed to be added into the roof space for support where the wall once was. The workmanship from their trades was so unsatisfactory and poor. Without much care. They hacked at the timber in the roof and left it in a state. But I trusted what they had done in good faith. In January the cabinets arrived and were installed within the month. Ceiling works had to be completed as well as work on the floor. I was at work most of the time while they were here at my home. When I had got home, I saw many flaws on the works completed which I then had to bring up and and arrange for them to overlook. One issue I found was the ceiling cornice was not straight and the tradesmen just ignored it. It was blatantly obvious. I had to get someone else to come in and look at what was going on and they found that ceiling beam was not propped correctly in place which was making the ceiling sag. I then had to employ other trades in to fix the issues that Joyce left me with. There are many other disappointing issues that happened along the way. Too many to write up. My kitchen was ripped out in December 2021 and I only received my stovetop and rangehood in July. Seven months without a stove. Thanks again Joyce! I was only notified the company went into liquidation in July 2022 and reading other reviews, it appears it happened months before I was notified. That is definitely something the old owner could have taken responsibility for. Informing the customer. I had an absolute terrible experience with this company and would never recommend them to anyone based on my experience. Their reputation has been tainted mainly because of poor communication, lack of skilled trades and their ability to uphold expensive contracts as agreed.

So Disappointed – This unfortunately is a review of Joyce Kitchens without a kitchen or bathroom to review. I fully understand that during 2022 it has been a difficult year to get renovations etc completed due to the shortage of skilled labour but our dealings with Joyce Kitchens have become a joke. Preston 4 weeks ago, Yvonne Barr 1month ago and signed up in FEBRUARY… Also, Helen Collins 1 month ago signed up in MARCH. Well, we had a quote done on the 26/01/22 and signed up on the 19/02/2022. We had a meeting with Joyce Kitchens on the 07/09/2022 to discuss our final plans and a possible start time. A text from Joyce Kitchens on the 13/09/2022 stating that they will get back to us by the 14/09/2022 with alternative builders etc. Today is the 17/09/2022 and still no word. This has been the same issue from the start, poor communication. I am happy for the people above who have had their kitchen done but also am very disappointed that they signed up after us and have seen a finished product whilst we still languish at the end of the que. As you can tell we are not happy at all with how we have been treated by Joyce Kitchens and still have nothing to show for our $30,000.00 outlay to Joyce Kitchens.

Unfinished work and left out of pocket – From the start this company (under a different owner now) has been extremely poor in communication with us about planned work. They also promised us that they would do a lot of the building work which they backed out of when it came to installing the cabinets. We really liked the design Caroline did for us and how helpful she was when we had a couple of problems during the renovation. Rob, the Scheduler, was also great and visited us to talk over the schedule. We were very happy, in the main, with the tradesmen Joyce Kitchens organised for us and they all did a good job. We love the cabinetry and the stone benchtops and splashbacks and our kitchen is now more functional, looks more spacious and we love it.

Caroline was fantastic to work with, was always quick to respond and had great ideas. For the renovation , we used tradesmen suggested by Joyce and some of our own choosing. Every trade we used was professional, courteous, on time, and the quality of the workmanship and the installation was perfect. Nothing was too much trouble to ask as we made small "tweaks" along the way. In short, our new kitchen is everything we could have hoped for, we couldn't be happier. Despite it being a big project to renovate so many rooms at the same time it ran very smoothly thanks to Ben the site coordinator and all of the trades. Being able to pay the trades directly saved us enough money that we were able to complete all rooms together instead of staggering the process.
