Convenience traded off by High Price, Average Coffee – We bought the ENA7 because of the minimal mess it left and ease of cleaning as demonstrated by the sales rep at Harvey Norman. I had previously sampled coffee from a more upmarket Jura machine at work and was very impressed by the coffee it produced, so thought I couldn't go wrong buying an ENA7 After 4 and a half years of use (and no… Read more
mechanical/operational faults) I finally got fed up with the inflexible grinding settings (only 3 settings and all too coarse which require double the coffee beans to even get an average pour), and a frothing mechanism that just doesn't heat the milk sufficiently but ends up producing a 50-50 ratio of froth and warm liquid milk
In my search for the 'ideal' home made coffee, I found myself grinding my beans separately in my Sunbeam Grinder (which provides 24 grind settings) and then shoving the grounds down the ENA7 shute (for grounds) - but even THAT was limited in the quantity I could use otherwise I would get an overflow of grounds internally - and heating/frothing my milk in an electric jug with a whirrer just to get a coffee closer to what i would call 'cafe quality'.
Ridiculous to think I spent $1200 on a machine and yet was performing 2 of the 3 functions it was meant to do, using alternative gadgets.
I enquired about getting my ENA7 looked at/serviced by the Jura service centre but was told it would be a minimum $295 plus any other costs if it needed repairs.
I'd looked after it far too well to just throw it away so i gave it away to some friends who I thought/hoped my appreciate it. However I KNOW that once they become real coffee connoisseurs, they'll seek an alternative.
Lovely Machine – I have had this machine when it was first put on the market,it is as good now as it was the day I bought it. The coffee has always tasted good and hot and it is very easy to clean ,will definetly buy from Jura again. Very reliable and extremely easy to use Show reply
Works well when treated well, coffee a little weak – Had this machine for 3 years now with very few problems. We sometimes heat the milk in the microwave, rinse the (auto) frother after each use. Use filtered water, clean & descale. Despite this, the innards get clogged over time so you need to scrape around with your fingers every few months to get rid of the grounds that escaped the process.… Read more
Otherwise it will eventually grind to a halt. Coffee is a bit on the weak side. We choose strongest (Lavazza) beans, finest ground, aroma shot. Fine for me, my Latin wife often has a double shot.
Coffee is always hot enough. Don't understand the attraction of very hot coffee. It's not tea! Cappuccinos are supposed to be scullable.
Expensive, unreliable – Although it was quite expensive to buy and maintain we were happy with our machine until it broke down. It made pretty good coffee and was easy to use and clean. We found the milk frother made the milk too airy/dry-like foam-but we just heated the milk separately on the stove as we like lattes and didn't care about cappuccino froth. However it… Read more
stopped working 10 days out of warranty and when we contacted Jura they were unsympathetic. Our closest service provided is more than 2 hours away and as we don't know how much it will cost to repair, and we have to arrange and pay for transport, we are not comfortable sending it away for repair. We are shocked a $1000 machine would only last 2 years and we are extremely disappointed. A local cafe owner had a more expensive Jura model for 6 years and it broke down, they recently spent $850 on repairs and the machine still doesn't work, which has further discouraged us from seeking repairs on our machine. At the moment we are back to our simple stovetop percolator. Looks good, easy to use, reasonable coffee flavour. Inbuilt grinder. Broken down just out of warranty, expensive to repair. Milk frother didn't work well. Replacement filters and cleaning tablets expensive.
Cold coffee – Hi, I was very enthusiastic after speaking with the salesman in Harvey Norman, I have previously owned three other machines, different manufacturers. had heard great things about Jura. It produces cold cappuccino. The answer is heat your coffee cup and heat your milk (for a better firmer froth). And still I have to microwave it for 10 to 15… Read more
seconds. And yes I have chosen the hot option rather than normal. The coffee itself varies from slightly bitter with a little crema to a good brew from one cup in the morning to the second cup same morning. have had this machine for three days. It is going back to Harvey Norman tomorrow.
NB the answer to the heat and froth issues come from reading Juras own comments to assist other purchasers of Jura machines. Good looking machine Cold cappuccino, poor quality milk frother giving a cold coffee with a thin froth. inconsistent coffee flavour.
Hi Sharon which jura machine did you purchase?i have also brought one from Harvey Norman and am… Read more
Overpriced and bad coffee – The coffee is ground far too coarse making the flavour weak although I have adjusted it to grind as finely as possible. I use the aroma boost and a double shot but it is still weak. I emailed the company but they didn't reply. The milk froths with too much air and it isn't reasonable to spend another $100 for another attachment. Expensive and makes bad coffee

Best Coffee Machine Eva – I had a Nespresso machine which died (couldn't say I minded as I was spending over $1200 a year on capsules) so I decided to look at automatic coffee machines. I narrowed it down to a Mile and Jura and did my research on both. I didn't want to spend more than $1,000, so I only looked at those models that fit that criteria. I finally settled on the… Read more · 6
Jura as when I read reviews on the machines, it was either the best coffee machine ever, or if it was a dud, the customer services was so fantastic at Jura, that they would replace your machine within a couple of days, so I figured I couldn't go wrong. I bought the machine through TVSN for $899 and got 6 monthly payments interest free which was great and they were the cheapest around, so bargain:) I received the machine in a couple of days and was instantly smitten, it's a bit clunky looking, but it is easy to use and delivers a consistent coffee every time, this in part may have something to do with the coffee I use, but still, just saying...
It cleans itself when it turns itself off (I have it turn off after 6 hours) and again when you turn it back on, which I like. The thing that I most like is, I can change the grinder setting each cup of coffee should I wish to, I don't know of any other machine where you can do it so easily, so if you want a stronger coffee, just change the grind with one touch and if you want it weaker, again, one touch of the grinder, this is great when you have people that don't like their coffee the same as yours. There are also easy settings for a small , medium and extra strong coffee at the touch of a button.
I can't fault it apart from the looks, but the new model is the smallest coffee machine ever built and I guess I could of gotten that, but it was more than I wanted to pay. Having said that, the model I bought originally was over $2000 when it came out, so at $899 I am not complaining:) Using th grinder and consistency Looks a bit clunky
Better coffee than my favorite cafe – This coffee machine has been faultless. This is my third coffee machine and by far the most reliable. I love the way it makes perfect crema every time. It cleans itself and is so easy to use. Over Christmas it worked overtime serving our many houseguests and managed the extra load easily. It works with the simple touch of a button and is much… Read more · 2
less fiddly than our previous machines. It is made from steel in the inside so no easily broken plastic bits. It is a 15 bar water pressure and the tank is a 1.1 litre water tank and has a ceramic grinding system. It holds 10 serves of coffee which. It automatically shuts down so it doesn't keep using power when left on. It is very space efficient and fits on our bench as an attractive feature in out kitchen. Self cleaning, the quality of the crema, sophisticated look Filtration tablets are required every 80 cups.
