Very expensive compared to other shops. I bought Blue Planet Tri-Sulfa for $29, and after I checked, other stores were selling it for $18. What a ripoff! Avoid this store and check other stores before you buy from them. They don't do any online price matching. They only do 25km radius. Bad experience, never again.
I spoke to Brooke that works in reptiles, she helped me set the thermostat which I have other people refuse. Brooke is a legend and so is Emma. They’re both very helpful people that work in Kellyville pets. Regards Mitch
Don’t buy fish from here. Set up a tank as per their instructions and brought a goldfish. First red flag should have been that the lady removed a dead fish from the tank while we were choosing. The fish was on its side by the time we got home about 30 minutes later. Put in the tank and it died within a few hours. Took it back and the smug guy… Read more
on the door said you need to bring a water sample. The dead fish was in the water all night so the water would be the same as the sample with the dead fish. He was rude and dismissive all over a $15 fish. I left the fish there and he smugly yells out have a nice day.
False report to RSPCA – Don't call up their vet and enquire about pups your pets had at home especially if the pups had kennel cough in which case I went else where as they are expensive!!! which in this case was sorted through another vet and pups did great and went to new homes healthy and happy The Veterinarian from kellyville pets will report pups born to RSPCA… Read more
you'll get a knock on door only for RSPCA to say everything is A++ regarding housing food and water and care of all pups Obviously trying to knockout other sources that have had pups at home from mum and dad so they can go to their breeders who mix dog breeds thx kellyville pets(VET) And yes im informed it was you as I never spoke to anyone else about my pups kennel cough
Extremely Disappointing Experience – I recently took my dog to this dog groomer, hoping for a light trim and maintenance grooming. Unfortunately, my experience was highly unsatisfactory, and I feel compelled to share my disappointment. It was evident that they were overloaded with appointments for the day. The groomer seemed to be rushing through the grooming process, taking on an… Read more
excessive number of dogs without giving each one the necessary attention. This resulted in a lack of focus and care when it came to meeting the individual needs and requests of customers.
First and foremost, despite my explicit instructions to avoid cutting or touching my dog's head, they completely disregarded my plea. They proceeded to give my dog an extreme and undesired cut on the head, ignoring my specific instructions for a light trim. It's clear they didn't pay attention to my instructions, resulting in an unflattering cut. This lack of attention to detail and disregard for customer requests is simply unacceptable.
Moreover, when it came to grooming my dog's body, they exhibited a complete disregard for my preferences. Instead of providing a gentle and moderate trim as requested, neither too short nor too long, they seemed to approach the task with a "one size fits all" mentality and simply started from scratch and cutting the hair as much as they could.
I can say they shaved my dog instead of groom her without letting me know. This approach resulted in an unsightly and uneven cut, which was far from the desired outcome. I want to emphasise that I diligently brush my dog every day. As a result of this attention to care, I am confident that my dog has not developed any significant knots or tangled areas that could not be easily managed. Their claim regarding the knots was unfounded and merely an attempt to shift blame for their poor grooming skills.
What shocked me even more was the behavior of the manager. Throughout the visit, the manager displayed rudeness and a complete disregard for customer satisfaction. Despite witnessing my wife's obvious distress and sadness with the results, the manager continued to push her for charges. Even though no significant knots or mats were present on my dog, they make effort to charge her for $40 extra fee for supposed knots and mats which only was baseless and merely an excuse to extract more money. It felt like they were more concerned about their financial gain than ensuring customer satisfaction. The most concerning aspect of this experience was the manager's dismissive attitude. Instead of trying to rectify the issues or offer a solution, he bluntly told us my only solution for now is advising you to not come back. This level of unprofessional behavior is highly unacceptable, especially when dealing with upset customers.
I would strongly advise against using this dog grooming service. The lack of attention to instructions, unflattering cuts, and the rude behavior of the manager make this establishment far from satisfactory. It's essential to find a groomer who values customer satisfaction and takes pride in their work.
Perfect pet store, great aftercare, not pushy at all – Couldn't disagree more with the negativity! If you buy online, I reckon call first & check if you're choice works for your pet to avoid the situation faced by one reviewer. For in person purchases we've been there many times & the quality of pets there is so good - probably because they have a health guarantee for everything! Highly rated for… Read more
fishies, plus if you want to buy a bearded dragon in Sydney, there is only one place to go - Kellyville Pets! We took home our new Beardy with a health guarantee meaning they only sell healthy and happy fellas & sheilas (no Zeros due to health problems I wasn't aware of!). We made an appointment over the phone & found out its better to have your reptile licence available (quick to get online), and the incredible guru Will spend a full 90 minutes helping us choose our Beardi and make sure the set-up was perfect, answered all our many questions, and gave us options from base to premium. He clearly explained the differences but didn't push one product over the other. The best part was getting to hold all the Bearded Dragons we were interested in, which gave us a great idea of their personalities and how we might get along. I also liked being able to feel the difference from normal to leatherback, and each one felt a bit different. We also met the mum & dad Beardies so we got an idea of the full grown size. We got our Bearded dragon tank second hand, but even though we didn't buy the tank at the store we didn't feel like we received anything less than platinum star service. I'm still shocked at how dedicated Will was to spending time with us & even telling us his working days so we knew when could reach him. In the car we had another question, and a different team member was just as reassuring, knowledgeable, and helpful. We got fish there before, and the team members don't step outside their area of expertise - there doesn't seem to be any ego involved, we were always referred to another staff member if the current person didn't have the answers to our questions (and fair go the aquascaper doesn't know what bulbs a bearded dragon needs!). 100% recommend. A 90 minute one-on-one tour with Will didn't cost an extra cent - how good! Our beardy is now happy and immediately ate some larvae & veggies. So I don't agree with the comments they are on commission or have bad after-care! We even got recommended to come another day to chat to a shrimp guru as the person only knew the basics. I've worked in sales for over 20 years so...I've never had any hint that anyone is on commission in the 3 or 4 times I've visited. It's a 45min drive from us and visiting pet stores in Sydney is our favourite hobby so that should tell you something!
Fabulous pet shop – Very helpful staff and a fantastic shop which I could spend hours in!! I am from country NSW and I have never been into such a wonderful shop. My cats will love their new Kazoo scratching post/bed! It was great they were on display to see what they actually look like
Great, ethical pet store – I bought my bearded dragon Charlie from them two years ago,and she's been amazing. Kellyville is unlike other wholesale pet stores who just want you to buy something. The bad reviews here actually attest to the fact that they put their animals welfare over sales or making customers happy if it means its at the expense of the animal (though they do… Read more
try to make customers happy, the animals welfare comes first as it should!)
Don't expect to come here and impulse buy a pet especially an exotic! Do your research and due diligence! Call them up if you don't know where to start they have excellent classes available.
Kellyville also has a great range of things that I can typically only find online (like the correct lighting for my sweet girl) - they don't sell products that would be otherwise bad for her like most local pet stores.
I can't recommend them enough. Even just visiting the store for fun is a great experience because they have so many types of animals!
A trustworthy pet store – I normally don't leave reviews, good or bad, but I had to spread the love given my long-term repeated experiences with Kellyville Pets, especially after reading some of the not-so-reasonable reviews for them on here. I've been a customer of Kellyville pets for close to a decade now, whilst also using other pet stores in the area as well as… Read more
online. Admittedly, the prices you might find at Kellyville Pets for some items can be more expensive than what you might find elsewhere, but they do offer a price matching policy if you find the same item stocked cheaper at another physical pet store within 25km of the store - so if price is a concern, you're generally not going to have a problem if you do a bit of shopping around beforehand.
That being said, their prices are fair when it comes to livestock. They provide good care of their animals and it's reflected in the quality of the animal you receive; you're not just paying for the animal, you're paying for the time and care that went into the animal before it went into your hands to ensure you have the best start with your new pet as possible. It's hard to be a pet owner and say in the same breath that paying for the health of your pet isn't worth it.
Their aquarium section is great. The fish are vibrant in colour and active in their environment; comparing the same species of fish with other pet stores, their fish always look significantly better and vibrant visually and far happier. If you're going to consider aquarium fish, I'd recommend getting fish from them - other pet stores in the area don't compare to theirs and seem duller by comparison.
They also have cat and kitten adoptions in store of SHELTER cats and kittens who need a furever home and partner with rescue groups to hold adoption day drives for shelters of dogs like Greyhound rescues - they fully support the "don't shop, adopt" mentality where they can. I also used Kellyville Pets as the Puppy Preschool I took my Kelpie to several years ago and it was a fantastic experience for both me and my dog - he really enjoyed the experience.
I'd also like to mention Paul, who works in the fish department. He is so friendly and helpful every time I visit, always willing to drop whatever he is doing to assist someone and will insist on helping move heavy items to your car or grabbing a trolley for you - he's just so willing to help anyone with anything even if it's not necessarily his job! If Kellyville Pets management team read this, please ensure Paul gets some real reward and recognition for his hard work - he is ALWAYS "on" whenever I have visited and goes above and beyond every single time!
Don't bother with these guys – Phoned up the shop to inform them I'm on my way to buy a scorpion. Drove 1.5 hours with my little kids to get there and the lady in the reptiles section says she won't sell me a scorpion without seeing a photo of my enclosure. I bought my first scorpion there a year ago without the drama. Won't be going there ever again. Show details

Discussing – No one knows what’s going on, tried to buy a bird, said they had to check it, why? You’ve already got it in the cage for sale. Waited weeks to hear back about the bird, went in eventually and they told me it wasnt well and a staff member was going to take it. Is this standard procedure? Why are they selling birds that the staff can take whenever they want? Discussing service, never go there again. Show details
Exceptional service – Outstanding customer service by "Ollie" from the reptile department who went above and beyond standard service...made information easy to understand and wonderful with my 11yr old explaining in her vocabulary how to look after her new baby bearded dragon.super impressed with ollie and the other reptile staff...thankyou for a great experience Show details
ALWAYS A POSITIVE EXPERIENCE! – Fantastic place! I admit I never leave positive reviews nearly enough for places, and after reading some negative reviews over the most ridiculous things I had to post on some positives. Firstly yes their animals are well looked after, animal pens constantly being cleaned, depending how busy the day is or how new a litter of puppies or kittens are… Read more
from trusted good breeders, will depend how long they are on display for and if they need to have a rest from being handled. There are pens for them behind the scenes to help them settle in as well. Secondly yes their staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Every time I have been in there I am greeted In almost every section I pass through. I have studied captive animals and vet nursing, and yes their staff know a lot of information. Thirdly prices, people say it is expensive, depending what your talking about, if your looking at food brands, they have top quality vet recommended balanced diets, but understandably not everyone can afford this, but there are plenty of other cheaper good quality alternatives on their shelf. Its no more expensive than other pet shops such as pet barn and pet circle. Lastly I just have to comment on the person complaining about guinea pigs, the staff member is right about the cage possibly being too small unless you plan to have them somewhat free range and not always in the cage. I know large enclosures can be expensive, I suggest going to Bunnings and building something yourself or just hunt the internet. The staff member was 100% correct in convincing you to buy 2, and the law in Switzerland is the truth. Guinea pigs are extremely social and need at least 2 together to keep them happy. They also need a proper diet of something more than just pellets, lots of fresh leafy greens, my rule is if you wouldnt eat it, then why feed it to your pet? You may be thinking its just a guinea pig, but like us they can get stressed, anxious and depressed. I have seen too often people buy small animals and they dont get looked after properly. I can assure you the staff at Kellyville pets do their best to look after all their animals and find the right owners who will look after them properly. Keep up the good work guys! A very happy customer :)

Outrageous prices – I had never been there before, so i was impressed when i first entered the store, very large premises with lots of staff. I was after a hand reared Red Collar Lorikeet, so i went directly to the bird section where i told a young lady what i needed. She informed that they never had any in the store, i waited for a moment, expecting her to give some… Read more
information on availability, but nothing was forthcoming. So i asked her if they had any breeders on their books?, her reply was that she didn't know. I then asked her if there was someone else in the store who may be able to help me, she gave me the impression that i was interrupting her morning, most unhelpful, at this point, another young lady happened to walk by, so i grabbed her attention. She seemed a little more knowledgeable, she gave me a few details, but informed me that they hadn't had any Red Collar's in so far this breeding season. I asked if i could leave my contact details and inquired about the price. You could have knocked me over with a proverbial feather when she told me that the cost was $600.00, i have an up to date knowledge of the cost of Red Collar's, on average, $300.00 for hand reared, $350.00 if DNA tested for gender. I informed her that this was an exorbitant price and that i will look elsewhere, on my way out of the store i noticed that prices of some pet accessories were over the top as well. It may be that they have high overheads with such a big store, but $250.00 over the market average is just rude.

Sales and service all down hill – Kellyville pets is expensive and staff are obviously on sales incentives. Great service and information up until you spend the dollars, then the glamour disappears as soon as you have problems. In the end their knowledge of the equipment they sell was minimal and just repeated sales reps spools. Your staff are not experts, just salespeople. Very poor! Show details
