Kelvinator 536L Top Mount KTM5402 Series Questions & Answers
VerifiedHow to remove inside freezer panel
Not sure
Can you reverse the door opening from right to left
KTM 5402WA fridge freezer. My fridge got warm, only just two years old. Removed freezer cover, fan was't working. Tested Fan 1 ohm. Failed second continuity test. Replaced with new one $100 later. Still not sure where the actual thermostat is. Not slide vent settings in-freezer or fridge as it appears to only regulate airflow. In freezer and fridge. Can anyone help would like to set a slightly colder on thermostat.
Hello im having issues with this model fridge, the freezer seems to be working but the fridge has gone warm, was making a different faint sound than usual, thef ridge is only a couple of years old, I shouldn't be having problems with it
Badly designed but I fix that problem by removing the back plastic cover inside the freezer at the back and it will be blocked with ice, that will be stopping the cold air to get to the fridge compartment.. I just wash with warm water and pat it dry then use a blow dryer to dry the rest, when you remove the cover you will see how the slider vent part works and I keep mine mostly to the side where it is open so it’s harder to block up again. I do it every 7-8 months and the fridge stays cold
Mate it’s not worth it spending more time or money on it I spoke to a few people about fridge and they said since there been made overseas they are crap
I couldn't get the back plastic cover out even after removing the screws, so I just turned it off for a few hours to allow it to defrost.
What are the dimensions of this fridge please
My kelvinator KTM5402WA fridge is not cooling on the bottom. Top freezer part is working fine. Look like problem with the bottom temperature control.. even I put the setting to colder still no result?? Anyone help me out to resolve this issue..
Where is the temperature regulator in the fridge
I've had this fridge/freezer for 2 years. I've played with the settings and the freezer never stays cold enough to keep ice cream frozen. I finally bought a thermometer and it registers minus 4 celcius which, i understand, is not cold enough (minus 18). Any ideas on this lemon? I've booked a service call but expect I'll be told the problem is not a problem and not covered by warranty. Don't trust these people at all.
I previously had a Fisher Paykel which lost the refrigerant twice (according to the techs who showed up) and was denied completely by FP so I vowed to never purchase a FP again and blasted them all over social media. Went with this and it also appears to be a dud.
I have a KTM 5402AA and the freezer slide control is disconected (no resstance) I have removed the screw plugs and 2 screws but then panel won't come out, scared to use too much force. Is the er a trick to this?
I cannot answer this question. A technician helped with the improved operation of the fridge. It is now cooler and more efficient than when we first purchased it, when we struggled with the fluctuations in the internal temperature of the fridge and freezer compartment. I hope you find a solution too.
Two screws must be undone first. look for four clips on side pull back from top slightly then lift plastic to top as it is re=cessed ad airflow channel at the bottom
I have a KTM5402WC which is less than 12 Months old and the Freezer is totally frosted, slide control will not move and the Fridge is running hot around 15 degrees. I have shut it down overnight and restarted. Slide control now moves and I can feel fan pushing cold air in the Freezer but no cold air in the Fridge.
This site is supposed to be monitored by Electrolux, but maybe they have given up on this model. Plenty of Complaints. Have now set Freezer control to Less Cool, and there is air flow to the Fridge Compartment. Fridge slider has been set to Cooler. Waiting for any changes.
I have had the exact same problem just wondering if you fix your fridge if so how
Water pooling under the crisper on the bottom of the fridge. Is there a drain trough, vents or some other outlet to check for blockage which could be the cause? Thank you in advance.

How to remove rear interior back freezer panel Kelvinator refrigerator model number KTM5402WA
Hi Julie. Were you able to remove the rear interior back freezer panel? I found I could loosen most of it with the exception of the centre bottom part of the panel which doesn’t seem to want to easily come away.
Has anyone had problems with cracks appearing inside the fridge
Yes. My Kelvinator Top Mount, purchased 2020, has a crack on the "floor", just inside the door. No idea what caused it. Actually - just checked - it's more like several small cracks, about 2cm to 5cm each.
My kelvinator ktm5402wa fridge isn’t freezing & the fridge isn’t cooling as I would like , the temperature control is confusing, where should the dial be to make it cooler? At the “colder“ or “less colder “ ?
Yes I know the settings seem to be the opposite of what it says in the book. If you push the slider towards the left it is the colder setting. I had to put my freezer all the way to the left or it was not cold enough. My fridge one at the moment with cooler weather is in the middle. Hope this helps. I find my fridge very noisy, I can hear it through the wall! Is yours noisy?
Send it back if you can and replace with another model /brand. I wish we had... Otherwise as Terry said.
Hi , & thanks for your responses, It can sometimes be noisy, I have put the dial to the far left where it says “colder” , we’ll see how it goes , the booklet says to put it to the far right where it says “less cold “ , very confusing
My fridge is not cooling. Freezer isn't freezing. I tried overnight to adjust different temperature settings. Not blowing any cold air at all
My brand new fridge/freezer stopped freezing after 7 weeks. It turned out to be a gas leak. It has now been replaced by another new one nearly two weeks ago. Will wait and see how this one goes! You will probably need a technician to come out to inspect it.

does this product come with the doors opening on the opposite side?
hi my fridge isnt staying cold & freezer over frosting & only a new KTM5402WA bought 2017 what can i do about this problem Thanks kindly
do you have this product in a left door
Is this a good fridge? the price is too good to be true for 536L.
I find it to be a very good fridge never had any issues with it, you won't regret buying one.
Does anyone else's fridge get excessively hot on the left side near where the motor sits? Mid way up roughly, not at the bottom. Mine gets roaring hot. It's like touching a heater, not a fridge exterior.
