Kenwood Chef XL Sense KVL6100T

Really disappointing – I have had this Kenwood Chef XL Sense for 6 months. On first use the top moved very slightly but the the machine worked well and was quiet. I did not worry, but thought it slightly unusual. I have probably made around 20 loaves of bread with it, a few cakes and a Pavlova. In the last couple of months I noted that it was sounding squeaky and… Read more
mixing seemed a bit of an effort at speed. It is now with Prestige Repairs Adelaide. Apparently what I described was not normal and replacements parts for it have been ordered! For a hardly used new machine, costing $529, to say that I am disappointed is an understatement. My first Kenwood lasted 20 years, the 2nd hand was virtually new and lasted 20 years, the third 2nd hand, 7 years. I treated myself to a brand new one this time. I am now without a mixer, awaiting a part and I am truly miffed. I feel that I have been sold a dud and that the Kenwood quality has slipped.
I would really like a machine to use while this is brand new machine is awaiting parts and this could be no time soon.
Terrible!!! 2 months old and motor being replaced!!! – I bought this mixer 2 months ago. I have used it twice to beat a packet cake mix. The machine started making clucking noises, now the motor needs replacing!!! Very poor Show details

This is perfect. Can't live without it. Also the BEST DeLonghi Kenwood customer Service – Brilliant motor performance, no complain at all. Very quiet compared to my other mixers. The bowl ring base is detached from the bowl. However with a very good service I can get replacement for free. Awesome. Thank you. Show details · 1
Manufacturing defect - please avoid – I purchased this stand mixer in December 2017. it worked fine for a couple of years. but I didn't use it for a six month period. when I decided to start using it again, It would shut off as soon I try to start it. It would run for a couple of seconds and shut off. I searched online and this seems to be an issue when the machine is unused for… Read more
sometime. I took it to Kenwood approved service centers thrice. they replaced the PCBs thrice and the issue kept reappearing. They tried to brush it off and put the blame on me, by telling me that I was overloading the machine. However, I shared a video of the machine shutting off while empty and they finally agreed to replace the motor. I am still not confident that the issue will be fixed and I have demanded a new replacement machine. I will change the review if I am provided a replacement machine, as I think I have given Kenwood multiple chances to fix the defect.

Terrible for the waistline – Cakes. Slices. Buttercream icing. Scones. Cupcakes. Whipped cream. Doughnuts. Dips. Biscuits. When you buy a machine like this, you better buy a bigger belt while you’re at it. Because yum. And the best kind - with limited effort! We have kids and life is busy, so we want appliances that help us deliver fresh homemade food to our little people’s… Read more
lunch boxes, quickly, simply and with limited fuss. Bonus points that they can easily turn it on and love to watch it work.
Truth be told my partner has used this much more often than I do. But I can vouch for it. The buttercream icing in particular. Ohhhhh boy can I vouch for it.
With a powerful motor, multiple blades, easy to clean and noise that I can still have a conversation with my kids over, we’re very happy regular users.
Huge improvement on past models – I’ve had two previous Kenwood chef mixers, the last a Chef Titanium which cost over $1000 and had been repaired for poor motors twice. Last week it packed it in again so I bought a Kenwood Chef Sense and what an improvement. The 1400w motor easily handles 1kg of bread dough and is quiet. Excellent product and $400 cheaper than a Titanium. So pleased I didn’t pursue buying the titanium which would have been a waste of money Show details · 2
Disappointing – Bought this machine one month ago in Feb 2020. The creaming beater makes a very loud screeching noise when creaming butter and sugar. Spoke to Kenwood who say its normal. I bought this because I want a large bowl for breadmaking, and Choice recommended it. I have only used it twice for creaming butter and sugar and both times it made a terrible… Read more
squealing noise. The very loud noise puts me off using the creamer. The best Kenwood could offer was the advice that the very loud screeching is normal for this beater. It also jolts around on the benchtop when in use mixing a cake mix.

Disappointed, expected better for the money I paid – When using the creaming beater it makes a very loud screeching noise. I used it to cream butter and sugar. Spoke to Kenwood who say its normal to make this screeching/squealing noise. I dont agree as its very loud and hurts my ears. I adjusted it as per Kenwood instructions, no change in noise level. The machine also jolts about on the bench top… Read more

Don’t know why it’s taken over 45 years marriage, before purchasing this magnificent machine! – This machine is wonderful. Sponges, cakes, meringues, pavlova, all whip up in record time. Easy to handle bowl, functional splash guard, which is mostly unnecessary, as it doesn’t throw mixture out. Tools are good. Folding tool works well after some adjustment that had been well explained in instructions. Whips cream so fast, compared to… Read more · 1
previously owned electric mixers, doesn’t need constant scraping down, and I haven’t needed to wear ear protection. I love the volume of the bowl, it will mix a large fruit cake easily. The bowl is light and very easy to handle, in spite of its large 6.7l capacity.
Great quality – I like this blender. The motor is not very loud and working very good. I use this motor to mix plain flour and very convenient, about 5 min this motor can finish this work. For daily use, the mixing bowl capacity is enough, but if customer can change a large bowl, it's much better. Show details
