Kenwood Titanium Chef Baker XL KVL85.004BK
Verifiedkenwoodworld.comMPNs: 845036, KVL85.004BK and KVL85004BK1 review
I bought this mainly for the 1200w motor, as my 850w Sunbeam kept overheating. To be fair, I've avoided orbital mixers because scraping the bowl is such a pain, but the reviews were good. I suspect it's just too big for my needs. If you have a large family, or do loads of bake sales, it might work for you. Howewer, You can only use the dough hook in the enormous bowl. Something I only found out at home. 1 loaf of Sourdough does not need an enormous bowl. Creaming butter and sugar for ordinary sized recipes was a nightmare even with the creaming tool as it did not scrape the full bowl.
I'd read of the difficulties getting the bowls attached/ detached and figured out the leverage to achieve this (entire unit under one arm, held to the body and twist the bowl), but short of clamping the unit to the bench, I wonder how other people manage.
And now, my main complaint, ridiculous pictogram instructions that cover multiple models and tell you nothing and leave your scratching your head about what it is trying to tell you. No recipes that might assist choosing they're correct bowl/beater. Nothing. Considering the financial outlay, I'm very disappointed.
Now I kind of want to give it back. And I'm just glad I hadn't got around to giving my Sunbeam away.
Purchased in at Goodguys for $750.
