Love it, learn how to make Barista coffee and you will be fine – I have had my machine since 2007 or so and it’s still going strong and has made 100’s of cups of great coffee but yiu need to understand how to make coffee like a Barista. I wanted the professional experience and this machine suits and is still going strong! If you love genuine coffee, this will give it to you with a great crema and I have made… Read more
coffee for a party full of people as you can do 2 cups at once whilst frothing the milk due to the double boilers.
Not a good Buy – We brought our machine in Jan 2017 and it went well for 8 months - since then it has been in for multiple repairs from Boiler gaskets to overheating - coffee pour is extremely inconsistent and generally low quality machine considering the brand. Show details
Terrible !! – Worst coffee machine!! Had my first machine replaced after the dials steamed up and the button for hot water jammed making it very dangerous, this was replaced under warranty. Second machine doing exactly the same thing and out of warranty!! Into the bin it goes. I have all KitchenAid appliances but this coffee machine is a dud! Show details
Simply do not buy one if you want it to be anything other than an ornament – KitchenAid must know that this is a machine that mechanically and electrically fails after 12 months of normal usage. First purchased in 2008, I am now in my 6th or 7th machine. It keeps going back for repairs . Boiler failures and the occasional electrical glitch. The one I currently have was repaired just a few months ago. I am sick of having to… Read more
send it back and then wait weeks on end for a repair. No joy with Whirlpool customer services who seem to have inherited the chore of sorting these machines out when they fail...which they will time and time again!!
Not worth the money – Following up on my previous comment from seven years ago...I ended up putting it out on the nature strip for hard rubbish collection....complete and in its box! I loved how pretty that machine was, but in the end it just didn't work, and rotted from the inside out. I only made one cup of coffee per day. Since then I have bought a miniature… Read more
commercial machine, an Expobar. It was $2,400, made in Spain. The most beautiful looking machine, chrome on the outside and copper on the inside, exactly the same as its commercial big brothers. In the five years I've had it, I've never had a problem, and hopefully it's not slowing down anytime soon.
Build quality pathetic – Without listing all the problems with the build quality and the poor coffee it makes. All 12 of the machines we had over 3 years had major and in some cases dangerous faults. Having said that, customer services throughout the saga were great. Please look at Sage before you commit to a Kitchen Aid coffee machine. Show details
So unlike other @kitchenaid products – i only make 1 coffee a day, and I have to clean WEEKLY - as soon as warranty ran out it broke, I had to pay $129 for a service, 5 cups later not working AGAIN - I use everything KITCHENAID and love so this makes me so sad, cant afford $129 service a month!! Avoid buying one of these – Not happy with the machine or the service, barely made 100 cups of coffee and I'm being generous with that number, one quick search revels there are hundreds of unhappy customers out there and probably 1000s that couldn't be bothered to write anything to rate this product. Just called the service people again, Rude and uncooperative. Never buy a product from them again. Show details
Looks good but I'll concieved – I thought kitchenaid was a premium brand but this coffee machine started my doubts that the blender have cemented. Anyway the machines insides are meabt to be gaggia with two boilers. One for milk steaming and one fore coffee. The steam pressure is hopeless. The coffee pressure is hopeless. It takes forever to heat up. If you make one coffee in 10… Read more
good luck. And I have never been able to make two consistently good coffees in a row. I have two other automatic machines and have used a commerical coffee machine in a cafe and have no problem. This machine and matching grinder was purchased around 2008 from David Jones Melbourne.

Great Coffee Machine – Love this machine, works a treat especially when you want a great tasting coffee. I enjoy making a coffee and the kitchenAid is well made and easy to use. Highly recommend it. I have had it for 8 years and still working fine. Only repaired once which is fair as I use it every day.
Quality, well made, very capable espresso machine..... and looks good – This machine is made in Italy. A quality product worthy of the KitchenAid name and the price. It is very heavy with a cast iron base and the paint work is spotless and perfect. The stainless steel is good quality and easy to clean (cheap stainless steel is harder to clean and looks like crap.) I think this machine will continue looking good for… Read more
years.
Good points: Good quality coffee machine, consistently pours a great shot, quick to warm up both boilers, easy to use, and handy having dual pressure gauges.
Bad points: Getting the milk perfect takes time and practice.
Cleaning and looking after these machine is important. Expelling water before and after every shot is necessary, plus regular descaling. With proper cleaning and care, this machine should last you years.
** Make sure you use a proper coffee grinder, to get the right texture and consistency. When you nail this, the flavour is incredible **
Works flawlessly several times a day for the last 5 years – I've owned my KitchenAid Espresso Machine for the last 5 years. I bought it second hand and was wondering if I'd get my money's worth out of it. It's probably the single most used piece of kitchen equipment I own. I descale it every few months and it just keeps on going. It heats the water in about a minute. I never have to wait long of that first… Read more
cup of coffee in the morning. It looks great on the counter and takes up about the same amount of space as other more serious looking machines. The water reservoir can be fiddly to remove, so I just use the kettle to fill it without removing it. If and when it dies, I will replace it with another KitchenAid, I'm that happy with it.
All Looks And No Go!! – Bought a KitchenAid Artisan coffee machine and as soon as rge warranty expired it broke down. Needed new parts and it was an expensive repair. Started to play up again (electrics switches etc) and the paint has begun to peel and flake. The gauges steam up and are inaccurate to boot. Total wast of money. Without doubt the worst appliance I have ever bought. Nothing!! Badly designed and manufactured.

Just sits and looks pretty – Our machine only worked properly for 6 months. Chipped, flaking paint. The Gauge was not working properly and steamed up permanently, in the end There was no pressure to do milk and now will not even turn on. I probably only made 30 cups of coffee with this expensive machine before it died. It's pretty I probably only made 30 cups of coffee with this expensive machine before it died.
Bad – I would not recommend this machine to anyone, despite it looking great and the taste of coffee is good when it works, that is all I can really say about this machine. I have only had it for just over a year, the milk frothing arm no longer works, the steam dial has steamed up to the point that you cant see the temperature as well. The chrome… Read more
material of my machine has bubbled and peeling off (at the back part of unit) my guess is because it is overheating to much. If you purchase this product remember to turn it off when not in use. It was rather disappointing. Looks a great coffee machine. The chrome plated material of my coffee machine bubbles, probably because of overheating.
Same here ,,, I wish I read this before I bought it!
Bad – Spend your money on something else instead. Definitely with a mostly stainless steel housing - the cast iron/enamel combo does not work. This is NOT a value for money machine. Nice to look at. Feels solid and like good quality Where do I start. Main gauge stopped working after a few months. Then machine stopped working all together. Had it fixed… Read more
under warranty and stopped working again a few months outside of warranty. Metal casing at back of machine near water tank is seriously rusting away. Water reservoir difficult to remove and replace due to poor positioning of suction hose. Exterior enamel seems like a good idea and looks great, but under the expansion forces of the heat it begins to show cracks all over after about a years of use. Some might like it and call it character, I'd call it a design flaw.
Not convinced that the boilers are actually brass. Took machine apart out of frustration and (might be wrong here) the main body of the boiler looks like aluminium or some other cast metal. Quality of coffee ok but not up to some of the manual Italian counterparts. I understand it is actually made in Italy, possibly by Gaggia, but I think it is more likely made by Fiat and has inherited same car makers rust problems and poor reliability.
Someone told me that consumer magazine rated it badly.... but I went ahead and bought it anyway,,, and its been trouble from day 1 :(
Looks Great....But it cant handle the job,,, – Hey I lusted after the gorgeous Red Kitchen Aid Coffee machine and matching grinder.... I bought both to match the other beautiful K.A. appliances that I also had... From day one this machine has been under performing.... it lost all pressure... and then the dials would fog up,,, little did I know it was corroding from the inside out.... The… Read more
grinder shat itself within a year. and needed constant cleaning and babying..and hundreds of $ thrown at it...
But the love affair went on... I was loyal and paid and fixed it and remained loyal .... however I noticed the red paint flaking off near the resevoir and when I packed it up to take it in for a service,,, the enamel paint on the back came off in pieces.... aargh...
guess what another huge quote and kitchen aid wont help out... its been 2 years and has not been worked hard... and well cared for... but this coffee machine and matching grinder are purely art, and not meant to be turned on or used....
I am looking for something which will satify me in the mornings and not embarrass me at night after dinner when it cant perform or get its steam happening....
meanwhile I am back to my old trusty breville stainless steel espresso "rocket" that apart from the dodgy swivelly handle, never lets me down.... for which I am truly grateful.
I would like Kitchen Aid to replace my machine with a brand new one, It looks gorgeous! Love at first sight! a double boiler.... looses pressure, corrodes from the inside out and then the paint flakes off in big pieces.... and then the frothing button stuck.....
Wow! Reading your comment here, mine has done the exactly the same thing! The enamel has rotted… Read more (+4 replies)
unreliable – Makes good coffee, looks great, however, paint flakes, boiler fails, gauges steam up, and now its tripping the home circuit. Been repaired after 12months, & three years on its just failed. Coffee making is easy, as is the cleaning. The paint started to come off within the first year. Just disappointing. Looks Quality & reliability

Extremely Poor Quality - our forth machine! – We purchased this machine in the UK. It lasted less than one year before it began to leak and corroded. Kitchenaid UK replaced it. The next machine was faulty. The steamer would not turn off. It was returned and replaced with a new one. The third machine was also faulty. This was sent back and we are on our fourth machine. We moved to Australia… Read more
and the machine was not used/opened until a year later in early 2010. This machine had to be repaired at our cost as Kitchenaid Australia do not cover UK waranties. We have used it for just over two years and the group set arm has just fallen off and the unit is leaking. We use this machine once a day to make two coffees in the morning.
This machine looks and feels like it is solidly constructed, however, the build quality is extremely poor and unreliable. If we hadn't spent so much money on it, we would have replaced it by now. The look - it is a gorgeous retro looking machine over priced, cheap parts, unreliable, pressure is low,
I agree.... not up to it. but looks gorgeous
I Love It – It is a quality machine, I roast my own beans and grind them in the grinder, the extraction From the machine is wonderful. The steam is perfect, and foams brilliantly. It takes practice, and you need to have good coffee. Do not buy prepacked (buy the grinder and do it yourself). It has never broken down once, easy to clean, looks great. No regrets. Heavy, dual boiler, quality parts, excellent results. Big.
So Beautiful. Wish it wouldn't break down – I absolutely love the look of my KA coffee machine. And when it is working, it makes fantastic coffee. But unfortunately it needs repairs on average twice a year. Next time it breaks down I have decided I won't fix it again (my last bill was $180!!!), but will just keep it as part of the decor. Looks beautiful. Great coffee. Needs repairing on a regular basis. Can be messy.
Excellent coffee from this machine. Beats all others hands down – Owned my Kitchen Aid machine for 4 years and never spent a dime on repairs. Working as new to this day. Great coffee. Twin boilers not only look great they provide excellent coffee. Whatever your preference in coffee this machine gets the job done quickly, efficiently and cleaning is a breeze. Two thumbs up. Looks great, makes the best coffee, no repair bill in 4 years, price is right and is simply the best. Show 2 replies

Bad – Make a good cup of coffee, but be prepared for an annual repair cost of around $180 and I am not kidding. This machine is a real lemon and I have the repair bills to prove it if Kitchenaid is willing to challenge me. Very good looking machine. Two boilers, great idea. It is a great machine only when it works! We had this machine Or it's 3rd… Read more
replacement under warranty for close of 4 Years. However, half of the time it is in a repair shop. I just got it repaired for the 5th or the 6th times today at a cost of $177 and after waiting for 9 weeks to get it repaired.
I agree!
Excellent – I have used many machines in the past both professionally and at domestically. Apart from the fact that this is the most aesthetically pleasing coffee maker I have seen it also makes and excellent coffee. After I bit of practise I am able to make wonderful coffee with this machine. The double boiler enables you to froth the milk immediately… Read more · 1
after making the coffee. The crema on the coffee is perfect and the milk frother creates the creamiest most professional froth. The hot water function is also very useful for those wanting a long black. I would definately recommend buying a good coffee tamper and larger milk jug to compliment this machine. It is beautiful to look at. The double boiler. quality heavy weight appliance. temperature guages. The tamper included with the machine is useless unless you're into muscle builiding. If you prefer more control on milk frothing remove the auto froth nozzle and add your own. water a little clumsy to fill up.
OK – I bought this with much anticipated use and excitement. Got bored quickly. Messy to use and to make more than one to two coffees was a hassle as guests would finish theirs before you got yours or wait politely and drink cold coffee, a pretty lose lose situation either way. My coffee never tasted that great and I changed beans watched the dvd at… Read more
least 10 times to no avail and gave up. I have now invested in a fully automatic machine the Jura Z5. Was apprehensive due to cost but finally total satisfaction, fast coffee, great taste and shortage of guests dropping by. We do 1kg of beans a week! Beautiful looking, sturdily built. Makes good froth. Need to be a barista to use it. Makes a mess. No Drip - yes it does. Takes to long.
Good – I like this machine as my husband makes coffee for a living and taught me how to use it. It took him a while to get a good coffee from it as the grind needs to be just right, and the amount of coffe and how hard you compress it needs to be just right also. Without all of that, you can not get a good coffee. Do leave this for the professionals… Read more
adn purchase an automatic machine. Great quality machine, makes great tasting coffee... BUT YOU NEED TO BE A BARRISTA TO USE IT CORRECTLY. We bought it because my husband IS a barrista, and it took me a couple of months of practice to make a great or at least good coffee not suitable for a non professional coffee maker, pressure guage broke, but not needed, messy to use and takes a long time to clean it
