Excellent customer service – I had issues with this product and had to deal with Smeg directly to resolve. They were very easy to deal with and resolved my issue to my full satisfaction. Knowing this you can purchase Smeg products with confidence knowing that if you are not satisfied they will most certainly respond and resolve your issues.

Purchased in at Harvey Norman for $600.

Very attractive mixer – I love the power of this machine but the noise it makes is absolutely awful. The first one we had got replaced as it made a grinding sound. Now the second machine, from new makes a high pitched whining sound. You could put up with it for a quick mix I guess but when you want to make a pavlova or dough where you’re mixing for a while it really is quite intolerable. Really disappointed. My kids bought it for me for Christmas last year as I’d always wanted one. We should have chosen a different brand. Lovely looking but expected much more for such a reputable brand. Makes me reluctant to use it knowing I have to put up with such an awful noise. And according to SMEG it is normal since it a commercial machine it needs to be under load to work quietly. Well mixing dough it’s definitely under load and still makes a god awful noise. Do not recommend. Do not buy this machine. I will sadly not be buying another Smeg appliance.

EDIT: Contacted by SMEG and offered another replacement. This time I received a white one which looks great. No horrible noise from this one and I've been using it at least 12 months. Great customer service this time to resolve the problem. Thank you SMEG.

Looks great, but it’s not – Bought the SMEG after wanting a Kitchenaid, (which was held up due to nil stock in Australia. ) Paid $661 from Appliances on Line and was really excited when it was delivered. First machine was faulty with the beaters hitting the sides of the bowl making a terrible noise. Smeg replaced it straight away. Second one arrived and I found it impossible to beat small quantities as the beater would not pickup the egg whites or the paddle/beater mix or whip the sugar/ butter in the bottom of the bowl. I find the all the ingredients are stuck to the sides or bottom of the large bowl and I am continually scraping down the ingredients to actually incorporate them. (7April) After mediation SMEG have advised there is an adjustment for this issue. It’s been done and it seems to have corrected this issue. Would be nice if this information is readily available and accessible. Sent me an image for reference.( Below) The motor is quiet and powerful, I love the look of the stand mixer on my Bench top, but that’s where my love of it ends. I have the pasta attachment, which works effectively and I have no issue with these attachments. Sorry SMEG, but if it’s a known problem, maybe have a reference to it in a troubleshooting /FAQ page.

Heartbroken as I really wanted to love this! – The Smeg SMF03 arrived about two weeks ago and I now have had plenty of time to test it to write a review. I wanted a Stand Mixer for quite some time. I had the intention to buy a KitchenAid KSM150 but foolishly decided to purchase this mixer as Nadine from my favourite local bakery Flour&Stone seems to endorse these and I am absolutely loving her baked goods.

I also ordered the Pasta Attachment.

This is a big purchase for me and I am heartbroken. The first box of the Pasta Attachment I received was missing one the Pasta roller, manual and the brush. I assume I was accidently sent a returned or display item. When the exchange arrived, the box was still not complete and was still missing the cleaning brush. I couldn't be bothered returning it a second time just for that reason. The mixer arrived and the bowl already had a small dent on one side. This is just a cosmetic issue, but still not good enough for something that was supposed to be a premium item. The lack or care and attention to detail is evident.

The next issue is that there is a large gap between the bowl and the attachment even when adjusted to the lowest setting. I constantly have to scrape the bottom and sides of the bowl. I tried the dime test and it clearly fails that test. It cannot move a coin.

The machine is also struggling with a 700gm dough. You can hear the motor struggle.

The dough hook (maybe due to the gap between the bowl and attachments) is useless. I have to end up handfinishing every dough.

When attaching the 3 sides flex scraper, the machine sounds off balance and makes a loud clacking noise.

The Pasta Attachment is great though. At least I am very happy with this part, but it doesn't justify owning the machine.

The mixer looks great, but is sub-par and I wish I would have bought the KitchenAid instead.

I am extremely disappointed as I was so excited about my purchase and really wanted to love this appliance and was ready to splurge on the toaster, kettle and icream attachments too!
