Look, the air purifier is mediocre at best. Can only filter pungent odors like cooking oil smells, can't handle cigarette smoke. UV light only lasts until the timer runs out. wake up with a blocked nose and itchy throat, but ever since I bought this air purifier my airways have been completely clear when I wake up!
I’m asthmatic and I can tell if a room is too dusty or if pets have been around as it becomes hard to breathe. Again, since the air purifier I’ve noticed it’s become much easier to breathe in my home and I’m not relying on Ventolin puffers as much.
It’s been an absolute game changer for me! I’ve not had to change my filter yet, but I do tap it out every few weeks or so outside, just to keep it running efficiently.
EDIT November 2024 - still going, replaced the filter after a year (with maintenance of the original filter throughout)
EDIT April 2026 - still works, my sister now has it (I upgraded to a slightly fancier one), she says it really helps with hayfever, although replacement filters are now only on sale intermittently through the Kmart website or app.

to be excellent air purifiers but have had issues since the beginning sourcing filters with only two Kmarts in my town And the filters always sold out online or just unavailable . After looking numerous times for these filters I decided to Call Kmart NZ today at 11.22Am in which I was on the phone for 34 minutes After talking with a customer service representative she informed me that they now longer sell either of these products I then informed her that Kmart Australia website still sells The carbon filter packs and the HEPA filter packs so was confused to why Kmart NZ no longer sells them with such a large appliance that has replaceable filters one would assume you could keep buying these replacements for a few years at least after calling around on her end she said I could take the Air purifiers back to my local Kmart for a refund she asked how much I had purchased them for which was $179 each she said that she would call the Kmart and let them know I would be returning them and assured me that I would get a full refund for both of them .
This afternoon I brought both the air purifiers to Kmart and took them to the customer service checkout and they didn't know about the situation so I'm unsure if she had contacted them so they called around and then said that they could only refund me $20 for each Air purifier. I believe this is Completely UNREASONABLE considering they are no longer selling either the Air Purifier or filters So I don't know how they could say they are only worth $20 refund per air purifier .
Although I would like to mention the staff at Kmart were genuinely sorry and very helpful they apologized on behalf of the customer service representative who apparently missinformed me and wasted my time and gas as it was a 40 minute drive from my home .
I declined the refund and said I would keep them after I had already spent so much on them and the filters but I still don't know if there was any communication between your customer service representative and Kmart . But overall this is very disappointing and I won't be purchasing any appliances or Air purifiers from Kmart again in the future .

copes with such low quality air in a closed room at night in winter. So I did some homework on air filters and decided that the grade 11 HEPA filter in the tri-filter unit would be good enough at removing 99.5% of .3micron particles, the advantage being that it would re-filter faster compared to a slower filtering but higher quality grade 12 or 13 HEPA filter. It has automatic on it and the night mode is very quiet. It has an ion generator which I don’t use. The morning bedroom air is now smells crisp and fresh. The difference before and after is huge. I seem to sleep much better in general. I don’t use it for allergies, but I can imagine someone allergic to dust particles or spores would really benefit big time. The unit has 3 filters which filter from largest to smallest particles. The replacement filters are extremely reasonable at $30 (you need 2) and will last up to a thousand hours which we figure out will last a year if we use just for the night and part day. Wish I’d purchased one earlier. A bargain considering what you will pay in the electrical shops and what with expensive replacement filters. The filter is really what makes any unit. All up a fantastic unit for a K-mart home brand. The smaller units are inferior to the large tri-filter option.

are inside sometimes, it still gets dusty or smells like dog. I was impressed with the air purifier I got for the bedroom that I decided to buy a second one for the lounge room. This has helped with any dusty or dog smells. Both units also eliminate odours quickly too.
The unit also has an indicator on it showing how clean or dusty the air is. I noticed both indicator numbers on both units will increase when I turn on our ducted heating, indicating they do pick up an increase in airborne dust/particles.
The only concern I have is with the replacement filters. I can't be sure Kmart will stock these long term, so I bought a few spares when they became available. The manual says they can be cleaned by vacuuming, so I might get a few cycles out of each set - apparently they last 6 - 12 months depending on run time.
Before I purchased this unit, I read that a good quality air purifier should have a clean air delivery rate (or CADR rating) of 200 cubic meters per hour, this one has 320. I had to download the manual online and read the technical data to find that out because it's not listed anywhere on Kmarts website or marketing. So this unit is well over the minimum recommended CADR rating and is higher than some of the more expensive brand name ones I looked at.
Overall, very happy with my purchase of these two units.

The filter looks strong and professional, something I'd find in a big truck air filter tube, amazing design and honestly it does freshen up the room by removing smells, my only let-down is it should of had a air quality readout but it does have a light that will come on when the filter is at its end, apparently around 8 to 12 months and can be cleaned as well, has a timer and 3 speed and is energy efficient otherwise most impressive machine.

can’t buy the replacement filters! Sadly, without replacement filters, all of my air purifiers are now not fit for purpose. So disappointed because the machines never skipped a beat and I would happily continue to buy the replacement filters.

I will be reporting this to the ACCC for fraudulently misleading consumers and not providing adequate solutions to resolve this which seems many many customers have been impacted by the same issue.

Bought two, both stopped working within a month – Bought one, worked amazing for about 6 hours and then the fan stopped working. A complete con. Read review. DO NOT BUY – The large family air purifier is terrific. But dont buy it. The unit requires two filters to operate and once it trips out the purifier fails. Kmart kie. They say you can order them but the hepa one is never in stock and hasnt been for over 6 months. Works Great!! Recommend – It works awesome! I just leave it on auto. I like how it tells me how good or bad my air is too and how it changes the speed depending on my air quality. from air born allergens had almost completely cleared up and as time goes on and the purifier is running I can feel my nose and breathing clearing further, amazing! Considering the price being so cheap I was hesitant about how successful it would be at actually purifying the air. To everyone smelling burnt plastic – Now I’m not sure if it says it in the instructions or if you bothered to read them but you guys do know that they’re plastic covers on all the filters that need to be removed I’d say that you guys have just plugged them in didn’t remove the plastic and melted the plastic bags to the filters so just be wary to anyone else that buys one REMOVE the plastic bags
