Love the machine! – Sad to hear it is discontinued. Have had mine for 2 years and it still makes beaut coffee. Still get two inches of hot froth with each double cappuccino. Maybe because I CLEAN the black gizmo every time, blowing clean water through the front steam valve. Was going to get another one if this one ever dies. Show details
It works well – Works fine for me for making a basic cup of coffee. Makes me around 5 coffees per day. Works out at a pretty low price per cup of coffee at bargain price of $69 Show details
Rubbish! – Had this machine about 6 months now. We were using it daily to start with but then it started to play up. It was annoying to start with as couldn’t get the right amount of milk to coffee consistency. Now the milk won’t pump up through the tube. End up with a cup full of hot water. Get what you pay for :( Show details
Cheap, cheap, cheap and NASTY – Does not warm milk to a temperature above tepid. Overfroths said tepid milk You get what you pay for. Thankfully this was a gift that I had no problem with binning. Absolute rubbish. I have since purchased a better quality machine elsewhere. Show details
Don’t waste your money – What did I expect for a $69 clearance coffee machine, milk comes out barely warm, does milk before coffee which overflows a mug, I’ll be taking it back as I don’t need a $69 useless bench display Show details
Great coffee machine for the price – Hubby saw this on clearance today for $69.00 and decided to give it a go. It was easy to set up and use. Looking forward to working out what setting is the best, but the ones we did make were good. I’ve been wanting a machine for ages but they were either out of my price range and I didn’t want to use pods. So for the price it’s really great. Show details
Poor Quality – I just brought this machine takes a long time to heat up & milk comes out cool not hot I would not recommend this machine if you want a good hot cup of coffee Show details
Very good – Just bought this machine from K-Mart.It was on clearance for $69.Made my first Latte and all was good, looking forward to experimenting in the days to come. Not an expert on coffee but I like a good cup and this machine does the job for a very cheap price. Show details
Great little machine going environmentally friendly – This is a great machine for someone on a budget great value for $69 easy to operate and clean makes a great cappuccino and lattes has a milk container that you can place in fridge so has all the bells and whistles no more pods in the bin just coffe grinds that I will put in my composter tumbler for later use in my vegepod so great all round you can only purchase this in store it’s not a on line purchase Show details
Fantastic Coffee Machine – I have had this machine now for over a year and it is still going very strong. Easy to use, with press buttons for coffee selection. Will be noisy when Frothing starts. Show details
Great price for great coffee – Picked this up on special for $99 and it's fantastic. After a few runs and experimentation, the best coffee for me is to use the big double shot filter. Using a large mug, hold down espresso button for 3 seconds. Let it run until it stops. Roughly half full. Then hold down cappuccino button for 3 seconds. Milk setting on near full (far right) and push button to stop when ready. Show details
Worked wonderfully for a week – Made great cappuccino for a week, then leaked water everywhere from milk area. Still made great espresso, buy chose to take it back, unfortunately no longer available :-( Would have taken another if they had one. Show details
Machine makes noise but nothing comes out – My partner has had this machine for two weeks now and she made myself a cuppa this morning and became rather noticeably distressed when all of a sudden she was unable to make herself a cuppa and hence sustain her own coffee addiction needs due to what the two of us, in fear and panick of losing our best coffee source ever, failed to notice that… Read more
the water reseviour had became empty... after some closer examination it became apparent that the condensation at the bottom of the water reseviour fooled our eyes into believing that water existed when in actual fact it did not... yet just another test of conviction from the powers that be.. Nannoo Nanno bloody flaming shuzbutts... DOUBLE CHECK WATER

Great device for the price – I got this today for father's day. My wife doesn't drink coffee and I couldn't justify a more expensive machine as I'm not a coffee snob. I used to have a stove top espresso maker. This blew me away really. I wanted a semi auto machine I could pop a milk container on as I use a wand machine at work and I'm a bit lazy and for one cup I can't be… Read more
bothered standing there frothing milk. I can't really find any fault with it yet (albeit it's only been one day and it is quite noisy....seems to have something inside that vibrates but for the price I can't expect a DeLonghi). The milk froths a little too much but I'm sure I will dial in my perfect setting before too long, and the latte wasn't quite as hot as I like it but I'm sure I will sort out the setting there too. I even made one for my mum when she dropped by and she said she loved the coffee it made.
I worked out that my perfect cup so far is a double shot cappuccino double setting with an extra shot of espresso in at the end.
If you can't justify an expensive machine, this is a fantastic option. If I get a couple of years out of it I'll be happy. No complaints at all here.
Ok for price but there r tricks to getting a normal coffee – So if u want a normal coffee mug size just click expression double shot 2 times and if stil not enough click once more then for milk hold down cappacino button for 3 secs untill ur at desired milk then click again to stop other wise I find the sizing too small Show details
Great machine, just wish coffee was hot! – First machine made beautiful hot coffee but had to be taken back due to leaking problems. 2nd machine works perfectly, except coffee is luke warm. Hopefully this improves with use. Edit: Just tried turning the milk frother down to low and it made all the difference. I prefer the milk consistency on the mid setting but on low the temp it's piping hot. Very happy now! Show details
great price, works well – Tastes great, easy to use but getting used to the auto milk frothing is tricky and as other reviews have said. One serve is not enough to fill a cup at all. I'm having trouble with too much froth as I am normally a flat white kind of person. Trying to get the coffee thing on and off the machine without accidentally hitting the buttons is tricky. However, it seems well worth the cost. Show details
Good upgrade from pods – This Kmart/Anko machine is EXTREMELY similar in function to the Sunbeam Cafe Barista EM5000 / Mr Coffee Cafe Barista machine, in fact, I suspect they may be manufactured by the same company. So, if you want more info on this machine, have a look at the EM5000 to get an idea. Positives: It is a good machine coming from expressi pods + frother.… Read more · 1
More environmentally friendly and cheaper than pods. A bargain compared to most other machines. Comes with pressurised porta filters to help us noobs.
The EM5000 is $199 or more and most $129 odd machines don't do automatic frothing.
Negatives: The milk frothing could be better as it is somewhat watery, but it is still acceptable quality. I think it's better than a whisk frother as they produce a layer of foam which is separate from the coffee.
Tips: Run a clean cycle with vinegar in the water tank as per the manual as I think it assists with producing hotter coffee.
I find the large cappuccino and three water drop setting with a double shot filter to produce acceptable, decent coffee. It isn't quite cafe quality, but certainly the next step up from pods.
Tldr: Decent valued machine with good, acceptable quality. A step up from pods but not quite cafe quality yet.
Great, especially for the price – I purchased the Anko for $129 to replace a Delonghi Latissima capsule machine. I was using Waycap reusable capsules (fantastic) but my morning coffee fix was a bit of a ritual and I had to use three capsules to fill my mug so I was looking for something simpler without having to froth my own milk and therefore start a different morning ritual. … Read more
The Anko was on sale so I took a punt and I'm glad I did. The machine's footprint is about the same as the Delonghi but the water and milk tanks are much bigger. The machine is easy to use and the taste of the coffee is at great. The reason I didn't give the Anko five stars is that there is too much foam for my flat white (same as the Delonghi) and I haven't found a way to program the milk to coffee ratio for my big mug so I have to use a double cappuccino plus an espresso shot but all from one load of grounds. Although I can easily rinse the filter using the espresso button there is no easy way to rinse the milk delivery system after each use, something the Delonghi had.
So far so good – No issues so far-functions are simple to use and I like that I can have just frothy milk for the kids. I’ve had the machine about two weeks and came looking for a review/troubleshooting as the milk is not frothing on any mode. I will continue my search for an answer! Show details
