bottom was easy to put on and it’s so smooth! It was just the protector that caught us off guard as it covers the full bed so we had to lift each side of the bed back up to put it under. Once we got the hang of it, it was easy to do and should be easier again the next time. Then we had to do it, the jump into bed while the other is on their side. Honestly, can barely tell when they hope in! It’s amazing not getting disturbed by the other when they hop in and out of bed. Best part is, it’s so comfy! We tried the firm-medium side but then flipped it to the firm and it is divine! Had no problems with the zips on either side of firmness. Seriously have been looking forward to sleeping more on such a nice bed! It was reassuring that there is a free trial period but we are so happy with it, I won’t be looking for another bed anytime soon.

Not for us – Mattresses are a personal thing but the premium Koala mattress (Soulmate) was not for us. My partner and I found you really sink into it even trying both comfort options. where we have to arrange return of it to a depot which makes returns harder. We have always appreciated their customer service and other products. If you know someone with a Koala mattress I would strongly suggest trying it first.

Zippers on topper don't last – Had our soul mate king matress since Oct 2022 less the 1 year. Zippers on topper stiff hard to use and comes off. Much worse on one side. Used the other side until now. But when tried to switch back zipper very hard to use. Keeps coming off. Very onerous process to put back on and slide around. Other side becoming similar. Worst returns process I've ever dealt with – We bought their top of the range Soul Mate king size mattress back in May and after trialing it for a month the smell just wouldn't go away, unlike what Koala claimed on their website the smell is strong, artificial and overpowering and it did not go away after a "few hours" of degassing. nightmare begins. Koala states in their returns email that the mattress needs to be folded in half and packaged in their plastic wrapping for their delivery people to pick up. I don't know if they ever tried to do it themselves, but it's impossible to do for one person on a king size mattress as once it has expanded the mattress becomes very firm. It is beyond ridiculous for Koala to expect the customer to do this for them. My wife is 30 weeks pregnant and she couldn't help me either. This policy really needs to change.

On the day of the returns pickup, a small Budget van turned up with the driver being the only person to do the pickup. The van was already half filled with goods for another business she was doing delivery for so apparently Koala doesn't even use their own delivery people for returns. She came and tried to help me fold the mattress and couldn't either so she ended up leaving empty handed.

After calling customer service it turns out they didn't realise I had a king sized mattress which required a larger truck so now I have to wait for another 3 days for pickup while the mattress is taking up my entire living room and the bed frames being a tripping hazard for my kids.

The entire process has been exhaustive both mentally and physically is just unacceptable for a reputable company such as Koala. To make matters worse, my wife tried to call customer service herself and the agent was rude and unapologetic, she didn't believe the mattress couldn't be folded and requested that we take a photo of the folded mattress as proof for her to arrange another pick up. Way to go Koala, shifting the blame on to your customers.

Great Investment!! – Was really happy with our previous Koala mattress but this is just next level. The first time I laid on it I could feel my back releasing. Every part of your body feels supported and in perfect alignment, your hips sink lower to maintain a straight spine. Super comfortable – Really comfortable mattress. We have the flippable bit on the softer side and find it really comfy. Haven’t tried the firmer side. When you spend a third of your life on the thing, and the other two thirds of your life gets affected by the quality of it, the return on investment is infinite. And when you find something that is great (rather than just acceptable) we don’t want to let it go! I am not up to speed with the various materials/design, just know that it’s a damn good sleep.
