Just terrible. Their solar feed-in tariff is only 0.5 cent per kwh. Yes, 0.5 cent not 5 cents. That's a joke, and it means I give them electricity for free yet they charge me 42 cents per kwh. That's almost 100 times difference! Show details

I used https://www.energymadeeasy.gov.au/ Finding Kogan Energy offered the best rate plus 1 year (NOTE: 12 months, not 3 months) Kogan First and $50 Kogan credit, I signed up In March, 2025. No Kogan membership came through. I contacted Kogan and… Read more

received a link. Kogan First membership came through, and I could see $50 credit. All looked OK. In July 2025, an email message came telling me as follows: "This is a reminder that your Kogan FIRST trial is ending soon. On 25 July, 2025 you will be billed $129 and upgraded to a Kogan FIRST membership and continue to receive FIRST benefits. If you no longer wish to continue with your Kogan FIRST subscription, please visit your Account Dashboard to cancel. "

Despite $10 credit on my FIRST account, I cancelled it immediately. No confirmation of cancellation came via email or phone.

How can you maintain trust in a company that generates errors in a system that is supposedly automated? I will be switching when the current contract expires.

It is a cold winter and we've been using our air conditioning almost every day. So far, fills seem suspiciously similar and far lower than anticipated.

Follow-up  · I found time to write to Kogan. The person who responded via email understood the problem better than the person who took my phone call (before writing above). The problem now seems to be sorted. Rating raised from 1 to 2 on the basis that the problem was solved satisfactorily, but should not have occurred in the first place.

I think it’s designed to be a scam. The advertised rates on Energymadeeasy was half the bill. Ten days after I signed up the usage chart showed my usage had more than tripled in the last week, definitely a lie. At this rate my quarterly bill would’ve been close to $1000. The advertised rate was $2000 for the year!! I switched to Alinta pronto. Show details

What a rio off – We had kogan energy for a few years,,the in app estimates were usually around $5.40 per day, but the final bill was always higher than the estimate. We sold the house and i notified kogan of the date, about 3 weeks notice. In the morning it was approx $5.40 per day monthly estimate of $180 In the afternoon it was $8.50 per day with a monthly… Read more

estimate of $220 So the bill was paid and 1 week left of billing to finalise it. Next i looked and it had jumped to $11.50 per day. I presume kogan want to burn up all the remaining gov credit and give us more to pay. Scammer kogan So when i get the last bill kogan can whistle for it The final 4 invoices will be sent to accc with a scam complaint. And to qld consumer affairs so they can investigate why kogans daily estimate doubled and how kogan ripped off the qld gov credit. I did ask for an explanation in the app messaging.' Naturally no reply, normal for scammers i presume

Hopeless Support – Signed up for electricity. There do not appear to be any problems, and I was told it comes with a free annual Kogan First membership (which is where the problems begin). ... I received an email with a link to activate the Kogan First membership, but the activation link in the email did not work (I tried it in my normal Chrome browser, but then… Read more

also in Firefox when it didn't work in Chrome). So went to their support page and raised a help request (including a screen dump video showing me clicking on the email link an being taken to a blank Kogan page). It took a couple of days for them to respond to that, but I did eventually receive an email response which appeared to contain standard instructions on how to activate Kogan First by linking it to a Kogan Money Credit Card (which I do not have). There was no detail relating to Kogan Energy or any explanation as to why the link they sent did not work for me. The email response I received said to reply to the email to respond, so I sent an email pointing out that I did not have a Kogan Credit Card and therefore could not use the instructions they sent and requesting a relevant response to my help request. My response email was not delivered as it was rejected by their server with a permanent error (seems they didn't like something about my email address, but I can send emails to other recipients without any problems). WHAT IS THE POINT OF ASKING YOU TO RESPOND BY EMAIL IF THEY WON'T ACCEPT YOUR EMAIL ???

I think I'll just forget about Kogan and look for another Electricity provider ....

Great experience – Wow I’ve had a totally opposite experience to everyone here, they connected us within 2 business days. Was in the phone to them for under 1 minute when I wanted to check in and make sure it was done. Show details

Woeful – Everything everyone has written is so true and is happening to me. Don’t bother with KOGAN as the customer service is nonexistent. Phones are busy, you leave a message to call you back as they request, then one dial and then they hang up on you. Not even joking. Show details

Deceptive & Misleading Conduct – I found a plan on their website that looked good so I signed up. However, Kogan Energy joined me up to a much more expensive plan without my knowledge. When I called I was told I was not eligible for the cheaper plan. I cancelled immediately and am extremely angry that an energy conduct would engage in such deceptive and misleading conduct. The Kogan telephone representatives did not care. Show details

Worst Scam Ever! – If there was an option for 0 stars that would be my rating. They lure you in with the comparison rate bill and show you how much you could save, then once they have you the rates triple and next thing you know your somehow spending your quarter amount on just a monthly direct debit. Absolute rip off and such a shame Kogan has associated itself… Read more

complicated process , faulty electricity meter, slow response – so i was given almost double bills in the past 3 months. it is a monthly bill by Kogan. call up Kogan Energy. i was told to take picture of the meters. I did. called them again after 1 week not hearing anythinh. was told the meter is faulty and need to be replaced. was told someone will call me. 2 week gone, no calls received. i called up Kogan… Read more

again. staff gave me a number to call that is Endeavor Energy. Endeavour staff said this is wrong. stated " why you call me“ i explained the situation and the lady said well never know Kogan is an electricity retailer. i was speechless, anyway she said well i can see that your property is run by Powershop. she gave me the number. I rang Powershop. Was told by a gentlemen there we are noticed only on 22 Feb by Kogan, now is 06 Mar, you need to wait. there is 4 week wait for getting this meter replacement job done. i can't do anything. no promise.

why customer needs to ring around to have for 4 weeks speaking to 3 different companies and no one know how the job to be done. i can't comprehence why replacing a faulty meter takes that long? is there a supplier market out there in electricity ?

anyway until this time, my faulty meter is still in the air and crossing my fingers. don't know when this is settled by kogan. rang them 3 times this week again plus leaving email, no response . good luck if you choose Kogan energy .

Very expensive – I recently installed Kogan Gas and Electricity, seduced by the free air fryer. I should have done my homework because the last four months cost me over $2000 in gas alone. Sooo expensive when you have high gas usage. We have six in the house and use gas for heating and cooking. Finally got off them today with a $1,014 bill as a parting gift from Kogan. Show details

Reasonable Rates but Requires Paid Membership to be a Customer? – After doing my comparisons, I called to sign up for Kogan Energy power at my new property only to find that YOU MUST PAY AN ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP FEE $59 to be a Kogan Energy customer, otherwise you cannot be their customer. the phone was lovely and I felt sorry for her having to deal with this strange matter - ultimately it was a waste of everyone's time because paying to be a customer is never going to work for me.

What a strange scheme requiring your customers to pay to be your customers. No thanks.
