Will they be bringing back the Lazzio 'Iced' variety. As soon as I brewed the first pot I went back and bough 6 more bags. I wish I'd bought 26! Just opened my 4th bag and I think what I have left will get me through til the new year. I hope they bring it back - my favourite so far (the Dark is good too - I'm a 'black' coffee drinker and these coffees suit me well).

Hi, I am very happy to see Lazio Colombia coffee beans back in Aldi. It is great to have this product back. What represents the map in the product? Is not very clear as it not the map of Colombia. Looks very weird.

Just wondering if Aldi have changed companies of there coffee supplier? I have now had 3 x 1kg bags with different expiry dates and they are simply awful. The dark roast beans are very dry and light in colour. Do not grind well and are very week to taste. We drink black coffee and have had these beans for years without change . Ever since there was a shortage at Aldi, there beans have been different since they have been back on the shelves. Has anyone else experienced this?

Hi How can I order Lazzio coffee?

dare2go

It's only sold IN Aldi stores, and as far as I know Aldi doesn't have an online shop in Australia.

Have to go into store, it’s the best coffee, 2 types to choose from and 2 sizes. I would give it 10 out 10

I am having trouble finding the Lazio coffee beans in my local Aldi stores. I live in northern Victoria. Is there a reason for this or poor stock control?

I cannot get them anymore either.

Anyone worked out how to see brewing dates, my last batch says BEST BEFORE 11MAR 22 201211 does that mean brewed 11/12/20?

I reached the same conclusion.

Campos, Sacred grounds and Daley St brands from Woolworths and any beans from reputable roasters have Roasted On dates. However check carefully at Woolies etc as I have found those good brands at least 6 months from roasted on date. Stale already. Forget Use by dates. If the roaster is not prepared to say when roasted then forget them and pay a bit extra. for fresh roasted beans. Woolworths should be discounting those beans that are 3 months or more from Roasted On date.

Thanks Wayne, I checked with Aldi & my code breaking was correct. If brought recently roasted the Aldi coffee is outstanding value 11-13$ kg and are a reasonable every day coffee esp when we go thru 1kg every 2 days in my house. I must try Daley Street , whats their pricepoint?

The coffee beans are amazing. are the farmers exploited for me to be able to buy them so cheaply

merlin

Because of international currency conversions, the dollars we pay, go a very long way where the beans are grown. We are doing these farmers justice and benefitting them by providing them with a job they are good at, growing beans. Farmers would not sell us the beans unless it was to their own advantage. The best thing anyone can have in our world, is a healthy economy that provides prosperity and wages. This helps us all.

I would add that we need to be cognisant of the fact that the wages in many developing countries are considerably less than what we are used to and that is why many goods and services sourced in other countries are much cheaper than those sourced here. So as we want people in our country to be paid a reasonable wage, we should want the same for those in the countries in which products are sourced. Also keep in mind that while a country's wages may seem low to us, so is their cost of living. It is relative and what's most important is not so much the amount of money one earns, but what that money can buy.

I'm not going to get into the argument of whether we pay farmers enough (I don't believe we do) but for what it is worth, Lazzio is UTZ-certified.

The beans are contract roasted by Veneziano coffee in Melbourne. This is high end coffee that has been roasted under Aldi's brand and is cheap because the volumes are massive (economy of scale). The supply chain is not exploited and in fact, better supported than 95% of any coffee available at a supermarket.

I have been using Lazzio Dark Roast beans for a couple of years on my home espresso machine. The taste is great and so is the price and once I had tried it I never went back to more expensive brands I had tried before. Lazzio is stamped with a very long expiry date. I always choose the longest but maybe that is the wrong thing to do. Is there any way of estimating from that date an approximate roasting date?

merlin
merlin

My hunch is that it's packed in an Oxygen free atmosphere and that's why it lasts longer. The beans with roasting date and extra freshness details are more boutique and therefore $$. Go with your nose and if it tastes good and you're happy with it, that's as 'good as it gets'.
