A fridge is a fridge and freezer is a freezer, not asking too much performance wise as long as it is cold. Except when you pay extra for cold water / ice. We only purchased this unit in December 2025 and it was recommended by the sales person. We noticed withing the first 2 weeks that we were unable to get ice from the dispenser, opening the container it was obvious that the ice container was less than half full but had clumped at the outlet not allowing full production or allowing it to be released though the crushed or cubed dispenser. We removed the clump and it worked fine until the next time. Now 3 times this has occurred within a month. I contacted LG Service Dept and was advised that this occurs if the ice dispenser is not used for a length of time. The length of time wasn't disclosed however in my case it would have been less than a week. A friend as a similar model and has the same issue, he overcomes it by using normal ice trays in the freezer. I wouldn't have thought this should be necessary when you pay for the ice dispenser. This is our 3rd fridge / freezer with cold water / ice dispenser, our use habits haven't changed but we have never had this issue before. (Westinghouse and Samsung). I would suggest that this is a design or production fault that needs to be addressed. Plenty of options out there I would suggest staying away from LG with this function.

Follow-up  · A month or so using the Fridge / Freezer - To answer questions asked: 1. The water temperature is good, certainly a lot better than previous Westinghouse (on a side note, when I contacted Westinghouse to ask if water temperature could be adjusted as it just wasn't cold, they recommended adding ice as there was no actual adjustment?????????). 2. The fridge runs very quiet except when emptying ice cycle, hard to describe the noise but it sounds quite loud like cogs missing connecting teeth I suppose. Sorry but that is the only way I can describe it. 3, This is our main fridge with daily use, trying to get used to where to put everything is always an issue I would suggest with a new layout however, love the freezer, wife loves the wide double door access. The only issue we have is the ice-maker, if you use it every day or so no issues but leave it for a few days and the ice funnels near the exit and requires clearing to use the dispenser. I increased the rating from 3 stars to 4 as the only issue we have is the ice-maker.

Posting this here for anyone considering LG to reconsider. On 3rd March 2025, I bought a LG through their website which includes the Door to Door delivery service and installation service. On 17th March 2025, while attempting to deliver the fridge, the LG delivery person failed to secure the fridge properly to their trolley. When navigating the kerb at the front of my property, the fridge slid off the trolley as it was not tied down, and the trolley had one wheel on the kerb and one wheel off. The fridge was damaged during this incident, and they did not even manage to get the fridge past the kerb onto my property.

Following the incident, I spent 5 days trying to get LG send a replacement. However, what I got in return was a condescending call from their customer service stating: "You have 2 options. You can either accept to have the fridge delivered to street level, and find and pay for additional removalist to move the fridge up to the house at your own expense or apply for refund. LG has reviewed the incident and will not offer any other options".

The same fridge has since gone up in price by $600. And now I have a kitchen renovation that had cabinet designed based off the exact measurement of this fridge which I will never get.

I have now started legal proceeding against LG for damages.

Purchased for $3,699.

Last Saturday night about 11pm i noticed water all over my kitchen floor , i could see the water was coming from the Ice and Water dispenser, I had to quickly turn off the Plumbed water to stop any further damage , upon inspection i could see the water had flooded the fridge especially the bottom under the crispers .Next day we went to the Good Guys at Robina and explained the problem and was given a number to quote when discussing the problem with LG, we waited till mid day Tuesday before ringing LG , what i thought was a simple report turned into over an hour on the phone sending pictures and explanations to a call center in the Philippines it was like a interrogation after over 6 pictures to LG showing the cause of the problem i was advised the LG will discuss the matter with their team and decide the outcome , All i want is my fridge fixed not a third degree ,its under warranty 16 Month old, just fix my fridge I'm still waiting 4 hours latter for a decision Ian Sutton

LG not honouring warranty for a manufacturing defect – While installing the fridge, I was unable to install the middle trays. I raised an issue with the LG service team. They asked me for some videos and pics of the issue which I provided them. They scheduled a technician visit and when the technician arrived, he also struggled to install the middle tray and told me that more force is needed using the thumb or an external object like spoon to put the tray in position. I told him that this seems to be a manufacturing defect but he told me that it happens with all the fridges of the same model so it is not a manufacturing fault. I went to goodguys and found a display fridge and tested the installation of the middle tray. I was able to do it with ease. I shared the video with LG and then they decided to replace the back panel as they thought it could be the root cause. The issue persisted after the replacement and I was told that they can't do more and it is not a manufacturing fault and LG is not liable for this issue.

Update on 23/10/25 LG has now committed a fraud by altering with the technician's report. The technician who came for the repair on 16/7/25 stated in the notes that the issue is still there, however the report that LG sent me was changed by LG. It said it was tested OK. The same tech who came again to fix the issue on 31/7/25 - I showed him the report that LG sent me and he laughed and showed me his original report. LG has come down so low that they fiddled with the original report. I have attached the 3 reports for everyone to decide how LG has handled this case. 1st tech report says no fault found, the 2nd one says fault rectified and the 3rd report within the same month says fault can't be repaired.

The reply that I get back from LG is that since I have used the fridge for 33 months for its intended purpose so they won't replace it but will refund me $2600 and take the fridge. I declined this offer because the same fridge now costs $3700 and a similar fridge with other competitor costs around the same.

I told them I had notified them that there was a fault in the fridge in the first week of its purchase and LG was the one coming back to me saying there is no fault in the fridge and now they are blaming me that I used their faulty fridge for 33 months. They don't understand how much inconvenience I had to go through to use their nasty product. I and my friends are not going to buy any LG product in the future.

VCAT was also not helpful. The member was questioning me why do you have to take out the tray. Why can't you use the screwdriver or a spoon to remove the tray as the technician showed you. He didn't understand that this was a feature of the fridge. As per him, the job of the fridge is to keep things cool which the fridge was doing.

I am going to take this case to the higher court or ACCC OR maybe charge LG for the fraud they committed by changing the report. Even if I don't get what I deserve; atleast people are made aware what dirty tactics LG is doing. LG should rename its name to GL - Good Liars
