Quiet and works. Pro tip: If you keep on getting water full error, then cut the end of the water draining hose! The original water draining hose's opening has a st^pid white cone that is too small (size of a rice). Cut that off and the water will drain normally. Fluff and lint gets caught in it.

After less than four years, the dryer started to fail. It made a constant squeaking noise and then left burn marks on clothes. I contacted in LG customer service to see what they might be able to offer under the ‘10 year warranty’ sticker on the… Read more

front of the unit. LG customer service directed me to email a video of the fault. I have heard nothing since then, apart from a voicemail asking me to call back. I was travelling so I emailed to say please contact me via email only. I haven’t heard anything more for four weeks. I’ve now just bought a traditional dryer and hope it lasts longer and performs better. Cut my losses and had the heavy LG heat pump dryer removed. Before the LG dryer completely failed, we liked that it didn’t steam up the laundry. Downsides were: the length of time to dry; the heavy weight of the machine makes it a challenge for small laundries; and as other people have noted it frequently tangled sheets into a tight ball. We spent $1600 on it. I’m not sure it paid for itself in electricity savings and certainly I expected it to last longer than 3.9 years. I won’t buy a heat pump dryer again. I’ve gone back to the old traditional dryer style so that if it fails I feel less pain about the upfront price! I will never buy an LG appliance again because I found their 10 year warranty sticker to be essentially misleading, since LG customer service have been so uncommunicative.

Follow-up  · The burn marks began to appear every time i used the dryer. I obviously stopped using the dryer once i realised. The drying time varied each time we used the dryer. Sometimes the dryer was still running when the clothes inside were completely dry. Other times it stopped running when clothes were still wet. I found it very inconsistent. The dryer seemed to effect multiple fabric types - including cotton.

The worst dryer ever. You can put a shirt in and 2 hours later it’s wetter than it was out of the washing machine. And it stinks too. So many times we have to rewash our clothes because they’ve come out of the dryer (half a day later) reeking.

Quiet machine but that’s the only thing I liked. Used Cottons, Duvet, Towels cycle and the auto sensing results in over dried laundry. Sheets ended up in one ball, tangled, tightly knotted, difficult to undo. Most recent attempt at drying queen bed sheets was after 3 times knotting into a ball, I tried 1 sheet at a time rather than as a pair,… Read more

with a better result, ie not as fast to twist and form a ball. Having to pause dryer and un-knit/un-ball then means the sensor and timer then is inaccurate, so timer showed 1hr 52min left and sheet was dry. Has to open door and fix the knot/ball issue 8 times. The main reason for buying dryer was to dry sheets, so this machine is a fail.

No ability to adjust dryness levels, only Iron, Cupboard or Extra Dry. Using Cupboard dry setting, for sheets used duvet cycle per manual and with 1hr left and sheets were bone dry, another time 1hr 52min. Same with towels with 20min left to run.

Dark tint door means it is very difficult to see what is happening inside. When opening door the drum continues turning for a second or more vs instant stop. Best to press pause button.

I wouldn’t recommend as the Auto Sensing is a fail and lack of ability to control dryness levels. Sheets get tangled every time and every end up knotted, twisted and are difficult to undo. Wish I’d never purchased this machine.

I bought this dryer on 08/11/2020 from JB Hi-Fi for $1335. I've had it for over five years now and use it on average 2-3 times per week. In that time, it hasn't given me a single major issue and has performed consistently well. I do have one minor criticism, but it's not enough to lower my score. The good stuff: - It's very gentle on clothes. I… Read more

tell my mum I put all my washing through the dryer (instead of line drying) and she can't believe it. Because it's a heat pump dryer operating at lower temperatures, it's much less harsh on fabrics and hasn't caused any damage or shrinking. That may come at the expense of drying time, but I honestly can't say it takes noticeably longer (if at all) compared to my old conventional dryer.

- It has a 9-star energy rating, whereas my old dryer had a 2-star rating. The difference was significant enough that I noticed an improvement in my power bill during the first 3-4 months of use. It also does an excellent job of detecting when clothes are dry and automatically adjusts the remaining cycle time to prevent running longer than it needs to.

- It's very quiet, at least compared to my previous dryer. My laundry backs onto the kitchen and living area, so that matters.

The one criticism:

- Occasionally, in very specific situations (like drying a fitted sheet, flat sheet, and pillowcases together) the items can roll up into a ball. When that happens, whatever's in the middle can still be damp at the end of the cycle. This is due to the lack of reverse tumble (the drum doesn't reverse direction). That said, it rarely happens, and I've since figured out how to load the machine to avoid it. As I said, this is not enough of a criticism to bump down my score, as the machine has been fantastic otherwise.

Literally *just* outside the warranty period. The repairman with 30 years experience says we were fooled into buying a dud. Show details

Works fine when new, sometimes. It either bakes your clothes or leaves them damp. Anyway. Had the same reoccurring problem - water pump fail. Had problem diagnosed and ‘repaired’ from LG recommended white goods repairer. 2 x cycles later same problem. Another phone call to LG and another invoice for another technician to attend. 4 year old dryer and $1700 spent. Horrendous product. DO NOT BUY LG. Show details

Screws loose on door – Purchased this appliance via Harvey Norman, and needed to reverse the door. Simple instructions in set up manual but screws did not fit to appliance. Raised warranty issue as never even turned it on and was told it is not covered under warranty. Several phone calls to LG agents, who whilst pleasant, could not provide any support. Now need to… Read more

pay for service centre to come repair a machine that has never been used. Awful service. Cut-off several times during process, and no interest in helping and seemed to blame me for their faulty appliance.

Appliances are all supposed to work, but you pay for servicing to support you when it goes wrong. Even in trying to raise a compliant, the system made it very hard work. Really surprised how poor this experience has been and the lack of empathy for the situation.

New LG Clothes Dryer does not work – Bought a new LG Clothes Dryer recently. It doesn't operate at all. Getting no assistance from the retailer or LG customer support. Very disappointed and recommend you do not deal with LG if you are buying a clothes Dryer

Wet weather life saver – Use: Overall I’m very happy with this purchase. The dryer is exactly what I was after. I currently have it stacked on my F&P washing machine which was not an issue at all and with them properly levelled there hasn’t been any significant vibrations. I found myself using the “cottons” setting the most, which is a 2.5-3hr program depending on how… Read more

you configure the other dryer settings. The machine is great at detecting when everything is dry and the program will reduce the time when the machine detects that the load is dry. I’ve rarely seen the machine take the whole period to dry a full load. It does tangle sheets, which means during the cycle I need to stop the machine and untangle the sheets before resuming again. The 8kg capacity matches the capacity of my washing machine so it is great being able to take a load straight out of the machine and place it straight into the dryer. App: The app is a fantastic feature, I get a notification when the load is complete, how long the cycle has remaining and I can see how many cycles have been used and when. It will also show error messages; I once forgot to replace the lint filter and when I started a cycle the machine wouldn’t start and I got an alert on my phone reminding me to replace the filter. There are also other present programs on the app that you can download to the machine. Maintenance: Draining the water directly into the laundry tub is convenient, and while I haven’t needed to use the storage tank, it's easy to access and remove. I also like that there isn’t an additional filter for the compressor like other heat pump models, the LG machine automatically cleans and rinses the compressor with the water extracted from the clothes. Finally, the 10 year warranty on the compressor is very reassuring that the machine was built to last.

Good when it works – dryer appears to steam clothes and not dry them at times. Put in warranty claim - LG advised me to pay for the repair and they would determine if it was covered under warranty. Avoid a company that does not pay for warranty repairs and instead wants the customer to pay for the warranty repairs and then they determine if the repair is warranty or not - AVOID. I do not consider this a warranty. Show details

I'm in love with this machine – I have had this dryer for almost year and it's fantastic. Dryness level sensitivity is perfect, the different programmes are very handy and it has all the options I need. It's super efficient and clearly well made. Cleaning the lint filter and emptying the water is very easy. I use my dryer for everything from socks to sheets, t shirts to towels,… Read more

doona covers to delicates. Can't fault it. Ignore anyone saying this or any other dryer is no good because sheets etc get bunched up into a ball. This is something that happens with every domestic dryer, because of their size. It's simple to pause the cycle and unfold it.

Perfect clothes shrinker :( – Update: LG customer care are just as difficult to navigate as their clothes dryer. I now use the dryer on one setting only. It’s my regrettable purchase.. I can’t get the dryer to run without shrinking everyone’s clothes! I’m sure it’s a great machine I just need some help working it out. The book didn’t really help me decipher anything Show details
