quiet hum which is normal. Good size freezer. Drawers come in handy. Runs more efficiently than our last small fridge half the size! Nice modern design, clean lines.

Cons… Being a 420L fridge, would recommend a larger fridge for a family.

From my experience with this product, I highly recommend and 5 stars.

audible (from a previously noisy fridge) and the temp inside fridge and freezer (after 12 hours) was over 20oC the tech diagnosed a failed compressor (over the phone) and said as the cost of a call out fee ($160) plus parts (which they would have to order), plus labour meant it was 'beyond economic repair' and they couldn't come till the end of the week anyway. LG is meant to cover the cost of a new compressor for 10 years. I called LG again to update, and they insisted the tech had come to the house (and I pay the $160), and for me to submit the written report, after which they would decide if they could 'remedy'. I asked what remedy, they refused to say. I asked what a compressor was worth and they refused to say. With 35oC January days they seemed not to care I might be without a fridge for weeks. I continued to ask (firmly but not rudely) what they could offer by way of warranty, but the customer care rep got annoyed and reminded me the call was recorded. I said fine but a fridge shouldn't fail after 5+ years. The conversation went in circles and it became apparent he wasn't saying anything of value. I decided I couldn't wait weeks without a fridge and not knowing if LG would honour the warranty. Overall this fridge has a short, noisy life and the LG customer care is very poor. I would never buy an LG product again.

The light and led display are still working which say the fridge is set at -1 degrees and freezer is at -20. Again, the smart diagnosis says the fridge is working perfectly. Bottom line - buy another brand.

Quiet and small, value for money – Slim size, perfect to get into narrow unit doors. The different compartments make organising easy. It is extremely quiet to run and have had no problems with it so far.

Broke down just after 2 years – For the last 2 years it has been an alright fridge, a bit noisy but was doing the job. need to use warranty it's more than likely you'll be asked if your new fridge has been connect to a protector since purchase. Keep proof of purchase for the Surge Protector.

Too Noisy – Just bought - from first day the noise is unbearable for me. Otherwise it looks great and is cooling well. The noise coming from the fridge is a high pitched vibrating sound and much noisier than even my 20+ year NEC fridge on its way out. Don't buy if you're wanting a quiet fridge. Show details

5 month review - So far, so good – This fridge has made a huge difference to how long I can keep food fresh for - particularly fresh fruit and veg. It is a good size and the freezer drawers hold a surprising amount of food. The only negatives I have found so far is it is noisy. When the fan is on it is more than just a low background hum, it is loud enough for you to wonder if its normal or not. I am also not a fan of the non-adjustable fridge door shelves. Show details

Freezes vegetables in crisper – Bought this fridge and from the first week noticed it freezing vegetables solid in the crisper drawer with a lot of ice surrounding them. Upon contacting LG was told this is normal. Bad product and bad service. Show details

BEST BUY EVER – LG Upside down fridge was our best purchase ever. Plenty of Room in the fridge (including at the door) and loads of excess room in the freezer. The crisper has plenty of room for fruit and vegetables and keeps products fresh for at least 2 weeks. The temperature has been reliable in all compartments. If I had to change anything it would be the ice-tray as it is not very big and the springs snap easily when tipping the ice into the tray. Overall - very happy with this purchase.

is so easy to store and retrieve items. The twist iceblock maker works like a dream. No more bending to get items from the refrigerator. The vegetable drawer holds such a lot. Thank you L G for such a splendid appliance.

If your worst nightmare was a fridge – Since buying new: circuit board replaced, compressor replaced, over cooling rusting out the bottom of the fridge x2. Customer service is atrocious, truely the worst product experience of my life. Show details

Bad design – Great refrigerator except, because of the way it is designed, too much air gets in fruit & vegetable compartment making my vegetables wilt and/or dry out unless I have them in a plastic bag. Very disappointing. Show details

So my new LG fridge and freezer – It's very very quiet it seem to look good as it's in black . but the only thing that I wanted and could not find was a chest freezer door not to swing door but there is nothing out there in a single fridge door with the freezer drawer so far I am very happy with this fridge as I've only had it a couple of days.
