all they insisted about payment and process. Where is the accountability for quality of product provided to customers after paying high price? The inconvenience caused to a family with kids. No wonder this product is discontinued.

Never will I purchased any products from LG if this is the duty of care from the team.

bottom of the fridge does not get cold – my fridge is only 7 years old been good until now.....the fridge below is only just cold.... i am wondering what could be wrong...the fridge hinges are not good had to brace them up with mental braces to make it work because its all splastic...not happy at all 1,500 now i had to get another fridge to do me over, a fridge should last much longer then that....

LG sells inferior fridges and then blames the customer for this crappy product – Bought LG Fridge GR 559 FTD. Had extended 5 year warranty and each year plastic shelves broke and were not replaced under warranty. their silence is golden. Potential fridge buyers LG are a substandard supplier who wont listen to customer. Moral to the story was my wife worked 2 jobs to buy her dream fridge but it was a rubbish product with no responses "EVER" from LG about our issues. What a joke LG are.

Door hinge bad – Door is bad, can not put much weight on it and where it attaches to hinges are plastic aswell which break down over time causing the door to fall. I never used the water cooler as I have young children but still managed for the door to give way... Shame LG made such a dodgy product. I won't buy one again, Big family fridge The door

Bottom door hinge easily broken – We bought an LG GR-559FSDR fridge and now the bottom door is no longer shutting properly. I think the issue here is the bottom of the door which is plastic. designed and created a fridge where a big bottom door is carried only by "plastic". wide space dorr hinge attached only to a "plastic" part at the bottom of the fridge. can easily break.

HATE THIS FRIDGE – Purchased this fridge only 3 years ago, and litterly today spent another $2000 on a new fridge to replace this since i hate it with a passion. Feeling like we had the reassurance of the extended warrenty we paid extra for even though it was actually still within the 2 yr manufactures warrenty we went ahead and contcted LG. They completely refused to uphold their manufacturers warranty and blamed me for the fridge rusting, I fought and fought it but they told me that their diagnosis from a photo that I had sent (because that's the only service they offered) told them that it was not a manufacturers fault, it was mine! In the end we ended up paying a technician to come out at our expense $100 later who wrote us out a report that clearly indicated it was indeed a manufacturers fault. Only then months and months later they replaced the door. Since then things have continuously broken one thing after the next. Several shelves (cracking down the edges), door basket, veggie crisper drawer, and lastly the main door handle. Also the veggie crisper is a total bummer! It doesn't open wide engh to get a simple lettuce out without having to open the door to it fullest. All in all......a massive waste of money! Can't wait for my new Westinghouse fridge to arrive tomorrow.

Very bad warrenty service, atrocious customer service, early onset of rusting, weak and flimsy parts.

Fridge works well. Shelves not that strong – The Refigerator/freezer is a great product. It has not broken down as yet, and we purchased it late October 2009. However, so far I have had the original 2 x shelves (149C) crack on the edges, as well as one I ordered last year (that makes 3 in total). have had to replace part of the original bottom shelf (149E), as that also cracked.

January 17th 2015 Update:

I have had a few shelves break, which are not cheap to replace, not too mention the door shelf (which I have ordered one replacement of). The door is now rusting below the handle (obvious design fault). The capacity of the water dispenser is useless. Plenty of room. Good value for money. Shelves break easy

Fantastic fridge, not let us down yet – We bought this fridge 7.5 years ago and it has been a work horse ever since. It has not once let us down. I am able to fit a massive amount of food in it and with a family of 5 that is a godsend. The freezer is also deceptively big and can fit quite a lot of food in it if its packed correctly. summer and they can help themselves without letting all the cold air out! Lots of space, good shelves and drawer placement, easy to use water dispenser very wide so had to be careful when renting that is fit the spaces provided

Well you won't believe this they replaced the door out of warranty! (update) – After continually complaining to LG they finally replaced the door almost a year and a half after the warranty had expired! I had to pay for the labor (fair enough - give and take). It took them forever to agree but I finally got a result. I have given them an upgrade to my first rating on this website because they did the right thing in the end. Thanks LG

has a simple manual cold water dispenser built into the fridge door.

this fridge also has a special super cool feature which when activated, causes the cooling fan to run for an extended period, just the thing for when you have just put your grocery shopping away on a hot day, would recommedn this fridge to anyone.
