filter you need to acquire a new plastic sleeve called an "Olive" about the size of a small pea - These were not available in Australia at the time and I do my own servicing of EVERYTHING (I am of Scottish extract) - Probably no problem for a certified workman - But had to go to either Amazon or Ebay to get them

Anyway other than that and the "trick"required to change the air filter inside (Go to youtube) It has been a very happy experience

However while Choice rates LG very well do your research - Especially re top loader washers

Terrible in every way. Do not buy LG products – The fridge broke down week 3 of it being bought. The freezer compartment just stopped working and hours of hard work, baby food, organic meats and produce were thrown in the bin. scratches. In the end LG and their product insurance (both dodgy) blamed us that the motor if the fridge blew up. Their customer service is terrible and they are always looking fir excuses as to why the person who bought it is to blame. They take forever to come and fix problems. I do not recommend you getting any added insurance as they cover themselves with fine print. All dodgy and I will never buy anything LG again. Cheap stuff

Great fridge – Great fridge, brought back in 2016 and still going solid. Roomy fridge room and trays for Fruit, eggs and vegetables. Has an oversized tray for you to store food platters. Water filter easy to replace and maintain compared to some. Ice maker and water dispenser easy and convenient to use.  Show details

Poor Quality – Purchased Dec 2013. Water dispenser is not cold - may as well get it out of the tap. Plastic draws inside cracked in first month. Fast forward to today, lots of cracks and broken rollers - to replace all the broken shelves and draws will cost a small fortune. steel finish marks easily but does not come off easily. Has put me off buying an LG again. Expensive (but CHEAPLY made).

Great fridge with handy water – It works fairly well. The fridge area is well designed. The water is great for encouraging kids to drink water, although it only produces limited amounts of cold water. The freezer area is okay but the amount of storage is minimal. Like all stainless steel products, it marks easily. These marks clean easily with off the shelf cleaners, leaving the fridge looking great. Overall, very happy with this fridge.  Show details

Amazing Fridge – Beautiful Temp retained. Lovely to look at and use. Plenty of room, fantastic to keep clean Locking is simple. Cheap filters are easy to buy and replace i have had many fridges in my time and this has been the nicest and easiest to keep. Brought brand new and has not missed a beat.  Show details

Love it – Ice and water work well, we've never run out of ice. Plenty of room in fridge and freeze, 3 separate fruit and veg sections took a bit to get used to. Its quiet to run. Easy to operate. Not too impressed – Firstly the water is NOT cold. Company has given me a few dodgy reasons why this is so but I am not happy. The finish marks every time you touch it so I spend my life cleaning it and it still looks dirty. The two doors is a pain because you can't really open one without the other. breaking very easily. The bottom freezer draw is fabulous. I had a Samsung before this and it was even worse. Next time I will save my money and pay big dollars for the only quality brand in fridges - Mitsubishi.

Shocking – Purchased this fridge and within the first week the Handel to open fridge broke off on one side. Have been told that this has never ever happened to any of their fridges. They had to replace the entire door which took three weeks for the very next day the other side broke on the new Handel. Tech came out fixed it and it has broken again this weekend. Great fridge – Great fridge. Very handy have the fridge at the top, with an ice AND water dispenser. It doesn't need the water filter to be replaced often. Looks nice, never had any problems, and never had any ice issues in the freezer. Lots of room inside. I would definitely buy again.  Show details

LG don't buy – I bought this refrigerator 1.5 yrs ago , it was replaced in its first month as was making noice & the vents attached from door to ice maker got ice on inside the refrigerator, don't know what to do , do anybody know that if lg is recall this product....  Show details

Fridge lasted 1 and a half years only – Look, fridge was great until there was a loud bang over the weekend and it died, took 3 days for a tech to come out. LG - worst experience ever – We had problems with this fridge after about 3 months where the water line would freeze rendering the ice maker unusable. The fix was a modified part to heat up the line and this lead to the whole freezer defrosting ruining all the food in the freezer. Since then we got a replacement fridge and so far after another 3 months, it's still working.… Read more

However we have endured much pain and angst with extremely poor service from their case managers in getting our food loss claim paid. They never return calls and their instructions are unclear. Highly recommend that you ask for everything in writing as they will not acknowledge their own errors. To this date our claim remains unpaid and apparently LG blame me for the delays. I will never buy LG products again. Size of the fridge. LG customer service is rubbish. Not worth the time or pain.

Poor Ice maker – Great fridge except for two issues. One the water dispenser doesn't supply particularly cold water and secondly the ineffectiveness of the ice maker. It constantly clogs up so that we are forced to scoop out the ice by hand from inside door compartment. This is a better solution that attempting to declog it, which is a very time consuming process.… Read more

Can't recommend it for this reason. Roomy, quiet, nicely laid out. Looks good Very poor ice dispenser design.
