I purchased this microwave thinking it would be of reasonable quality but its rust inside not quite 3 years old Show details
I purchased my LG 25litre microve in September last year, so it's not even l year old. Although the time shows on the outside panel and it can heat, when l open the door (which one has to do to avail ones self access to the functions) none of the… Read more
functions are working, it's like it's dead. I informed Appliances On Line of this and today l had a call from LG service centre. I was on the phone for 15minutes explaining and all l got from him was that l should take it to a service centre in Wetherill Park, which happens to be FIFTY FOUR KMS from where l live. When l explained that l'm an 86yr old woman who walks with a stick, he said that's okay, you can courier it in!!! So l'm expected to pay for a 54 km courier to their warehouse and another 54km back. Are they insane, that would probably cost more than the microwave. OMG l've just read LG reviews here and they are so negative that l wish l'd read them before purchasing this microwave. It replaced my last microwave which was fantastic for 10 years. This microwave is still under guarantee and l cannot get it fixed. I've emailed AOL with my grievance and l'm waiting on their response. I have purchased every main and small appliances from them and they have been fantastic, so l'm hoping for good news. When l told the person from LG, that l was gonna leave a review, l had no response, so l ended the call. His answer was to send me a text with the address in Wetherill Park. Disgusting attitude and l'll NEVER buy anything from LG. The photo shows the door open with the time but ALL those functions do not work♀️
Follow-up · My follow up is ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ as my neighbour's son,. who is an electrician, kindly offered his service. I don't know what he did but after a few minutes he came out of the kitchen smiling and said it was now working! I was so thankful and in my excitement forgot to ask him what was the problem. After a few days l made myself familiar with this microwave… Read more
Grabbed this microwave and gotta say, it’s a solid bit of kit. Sleek design, dead easy to use, and heats stuff evenly without turning your leftovers into lava on the outside and frozen in the middle. The sensor cook’s a game change. Quiet too, which is a nice touch. Show details
I bought this microwave 4 years ago and it replaced a Panasonic microwave that i had for 20 years. It never really heated up the food quickly or evenly, it takes far longer than expected. It's gotten worse as time has gone on, about a year ago part of the clock digits have started to disappear and won't come back, I've got no idea how or why this… Read more
is happening, it just started for no reason, I will never buy another lg microwave again and I'll replacing it with another panasonic microwave.
LG - Life’s not so good – I had an identical model microwave that had to be replaced under warranty when it started overheating and making a loud noise. The LG service agent replaced one part and was going to replace another before LG approved its return to the retailer. I returned the faulty microwave to the retailer. Thinking that I was unlucky to have a faulty unit,… Read more
I selected and purchased an identical microwave as a replacement. I took delivery early December2024. The new microwave was noisy. It wasn’t immediately obvious where the noise was coming from, and I gave it a few days to maybe settle down. It didn’t, so I rang LG customer care. I let them hear the noise over the phone and they told me to take it to their service centre. The microwave was also occasionally very hot after only brief usage, and I told them about that too. After a couple of weeks the service agent said they could find no fault, and I collected it. LG tried to get me to pay for the non-existent service but eventually withdrew that request.
When I got home the noise was immediately obvious. It had got worse, and could be heard from the rear fan area, I took it back and had the microwave operating in front of the technician, who agreed it was noisy. After another couple of weeks I got a call and picked it up. When I got it home I found the vibration had not been fixed.
I took it back again and after a week or so got a call to collect it. This time the vibration was not to be heard. At that point, my new microwave had been in our kitchen for just two weeks in the two months we had owned it. In addition to many phone calls to LG, we had made multiple trips to and from the service agent, taking significant time and fuel. In a series of emails to LG Customer Care I queried whether they had any mechanism for dealing with these circumstances, even if it was just extending the warranty. They don’t.
Two weeks have passed and the vibration has returned. It is intermittent, increasing as use time increases. I am beyond frustrated. The vibration comes from the fan housing at the back of the microwave. The most recent (and only successful) attempt at repair has now failed. I emailed Customer Care once again, requesting approval to return the machine. Their response was that their ‘reclaim policy’ dictates that I must take it back to the service centre. Again!
Enough is enough. So far, Customer Care has proven to be an inaccurate name, as has the term ‘Service Centre’. The time and inconvenience over a brand new, albeit low cost appliance has been over the top. The impression I have received is that this is just not important, and being in the LG system means little individual consideration can be expected.
This review is as much about LG’s customer service as it is about the quality of this model of microwave. The quality of both have much room for improvement.
doesnt heat well and malfunctioned after afew years – Doesn't heat food well and started emitting sparks and a loud buzzing noise from inside after afew years of use. would not reccomend!
Warnimg very cheap quality – Do not biy thos item It os very cheqp amd nasty Never jadd a prbkem with samsung The temlered glass they us it very flimsy and breaks It seems cheap but be very carful Show details
Food doesn't heat – I bought a new product, and just after 2 years, it stopped working. It would turn, but it wouldn't heat the food. The repair will cost more than the new one.
Sparked and sounded like it was gonna burst – Just used this microwave for 2 years as it sparked and was making a loud noise like it was gonna blow up. The service centre couldn’t fix it, so LG just gave us a store credit. So disappointed!
Almost caught fire – 2 mths before the end of the warranty the unit failed and almost everything was replaced under warranty. Last night and after only 3 months later the entire unit got so hot you couldn’t touch it and the internals started burning itself out. This was only after 5 mins heating up some sliced potatoes. Just don’t go near lg as this unit is dangerous.… Read more
We threw it outside and never want to see it again. Should be recalled. Update: the repairer has advised the recently replaced (under warranty) magnetron and pcb have failed again - that’s twice in 3 months.
All good til it stops working – We enjoyed using the microwave until it stopped working. Now, reading reviews I can see it is a major issue for the LG microwave. Disappointed with LG in this case, as it is very clear there is a problem here especially when the part costs more than the microwave itself. Show details
Horrible experience – All was going well with the microwave until, when it was just under 12 months old, it suddenly stopped heating food. Took it to an LG repair centre who said it needed a new magnetron but, as the microwave cost less than $300 to buy, LG won’t repair it and it’s now up to me to obtain a refund or replacement from the place I purchased it from. customer service from LG has been really poor and the microwave has been more hassle than it’s worth. Would not recommend.
Lasted less than 30 days – Have owned this microwave less than 30 days and no longer heats. Normal domestic use (heat and eat or defrost). Tried warranty but seemed to much of a hassle to follow through with so returning to store for a refund. I should have read these reviews first. Owned my previous LG Microwave for 18 years and still going strong. Moving forward I wont be replacing it with a LG. Show details

Works well but knocks out wifi – I like being able to quickly select 30 seconds And make incremental changes. Also great that I can turn off sounds. Disappointed that it interferes with the wifi. Not good. Show details
Best microwave EVVVERRR – I was sceptical at first about buying an inverter microwave but I'm never going back to anything else because this unit is AMAZING!!! I bake cakes in it, cook bacon, boil eggs, heat porridge, cook chicken, cook steaks and stir-fry the list goes on. It was an absolute steal of a price on eBay as a factory second, uses little power, easy to clean… Read more · 1
and most of all after reading and understanding how inverter technology works it cooks food very evenly. It's never dry or unevenly cooked. I can't believe I could ever go back to a regular microwave again. LG has done an excellent job on the layout, features and warranty of this unit
Magnetron died after 18 months – Magnetron died after 18 months of light use. Still under warrantee but a hassle having to take it in to get fixed. Would like more control over setting power options instead of using the programming features. Show details
Great after sale customer service from LG – Received a great after sale customer service from LG. I was responded ASAP by Alicia and kept me posted with my queries. Amazing customer services specially in the lock down period. Thanks Alicia ! Show details · 4
Crap Quality – Bought this microwave just a little over 2 years ago in mid 2018. It was working quite well and fine, up till tonight where it just stopped heating food up completely. Tried LG smart diagnosis - apparently everything was working fine. Clearly it wasn’t. Tried multiple times to heat up food, lights and tray was turning as normal but everything… Read more
remained cold after 5 mins. Our previous Samsung lasted more than 8 years. Can’t believe this one died on us so soon. Never buying LG again.

Bad product and even worst after sales service – First the microwave worked as intended. After 16 months we have suddenly developed a F-3 error? apparently its a faulty sensor! Can't do an online warranty claim so call OS call centre who really were out of their depth. First local repairer was an old bloke who retired long ago and when I called back they could only tell me two repairers for the… Read more
whole of the Sydney metropolitan area. Asked what was an excepted turn around for service and told 3 weeks. Not expecting next day service but with a handful of repairers dedicated to a global city like Sydney don't expect world class service when you need it. LG are smart, a lot of people would look at the time to run around drop off and wait weeks for a possible repair and think I can't live without this daily appliance, most would give up and drop another $300 on another or different product. Differently not - Life's Good!

Terrible customer support and even worse product support! – Unit bought from Myer on 10/12/19 and has not even lasted 6 months, it no longer heats. I have tried to online chat and speak with customer support only to be told that I would have to organise and pay for the repair and LG will reimburse me if they deem it to be a manufacturers fault. I live in Brisbane so there should be no excuse for not arranging a technician to inspect the unit under warranty conditions. Show details

Stupid design bad tune – It microwaves food. Only good thing. it does not do it better than any other microwave. Now for the rest: - Its door is 9cm wider than it needs to be: it goes right to the end of the oven and includes the control panel, where all the ovens I have had before have put the control panel on the body of the oven. When you sweep that 9cm across the… Read more
bench top it is quite a bit of area. It's already a big oven, but this makes it needlessly intrusive. - The tune (which LG describes as a "happy family at play" (must be be 30 years ago on super Mario) is irritating as whatever and _repeats_ every 30 seconds. OVER AND OVER. - You can't select less than 10 second timing increments. That can be a lot with a microwave....especially one that boasts its extra power. - everything is based on multiple presses/turns of buttons: 3 minutes takes forever and is a guess if you are in a hurry. Why not just the old idea of 3 0=30 seconds, 200 = 2 minutes etc. Why not "Power" - 5 instead or power power power power power power, to get .5 power setting? - the button to set time is often hard to "get right", so you have to hit it a few tines to make it register. BUT - if you accidentally press that timer button too often, you suddenly find you have added 30-40 secs to your cook time. - it is VERY easy to add time to the cook, without meaning to. - The tune (which LG describes as a "happy family at play" (must be be 30 years ago on super Mario) is irritating as whatever and _repeats_ every 30 seconds. OVER AND OVER. - I have paid for and bought it. I really do not like it.
Simple and Intuitive – Heats quickly and evenly. The control panel looks minimal but you can quickly start your cooking with fewer button selections than the traditional microwave menu. Great microwave and a great price. Show details
Great microwave – our old Aldi microwave recently died and I spent days and day looking through reviews just like this one to get a good replacement so I settled on this model and went to Good Guys to buy it I find it really easy to use it does take some getting used to the setttings and the type of heating element iv found it takes a shorter time frame than you'd… Read more
normally use for most things with this microwave
and to be honest it looks great on the counter top, I would buy an LG again for sure
Elegant microwave that does the right job – This microwave fit well in the built in compartment and looks very nice. It has lot of functionality but mostly I like the defrost and cooking function. Now defrost will not cook the meat like the cheap microwave. And reheating and cooking is 2x faster than normal microwave. Show details
Awesome Microwave! – This microwave is great. It is super sleek to look and and touch screen. The little sound it makes when it is done is very pleasant too, not a harsh beeping like most microwaves. It is very quiet and It heats up food quickly and evenly and i've noticed it doesn't splatter as much as my last microwave, which is great. It is great value for money and I am very glad I brought it. Show details
