All set for a hot summer or the next cold winter – Our kitchen/dining room area has been neglected as far as cooling is concerned, even though this is the main area where family and visitors tend to congregate. We do a fair amount of cooking in the kitchen and that naturally increases heat levels during those times. While we do have air conditioning in a nearby lounge room, the cooling effects… Read more

from this AC's does not contribute to cooling into kitchen/dining room area.

I really liked the features of this LG unit, the fact that it has a 5 star energy rating and built in WiFi. Compared to the older AC units we have, this one is far more efficient because of the newer heat pump technology it employs. Also the Wifi feature means that we can control the AC when we are out and about via our mobile phones and if needed, we switch it on a half and hour before we get back home.

It has been installed for more than a month now and we've needed it on some days for both cooling and heating, due to the variable spring weather we have in Melbourne. You know what they say, "If you don't like the weather in Melbourne, wait 10 minutes". It has worked flawlessly and quietly in providing the much needed comfort to our kitchen/dining room area.

The only issue we had was with the initial WiFi setup, which was more complex and it took longer than anticipated to connect it up. However there's been no issues with it remaining connected and we can control it via mobile phone or voice command (via Google). Should have listened to the installers who offered to connect it to our WiFi on the day of the install.

Even though the unit is rated at 3.5kw, it saves power by continually adjusting the heating and cooling power requirements via the Smart Inverter. So it only consumes the power it needs for it to reach the temperature that you have set. Unlike older AC's that run on full power continuously until they reach set temperature and then shut off the compressor.

Very noisy fan – Purchased new. On the positive side it has a 10 year warranty on the compressor which is better than most AC manufacturers. And was quite a reasonable priced product. On the negative side it stopped working after 1 year. Under warranty so was repaired free of charge but took ages to get the circuit board part, about 2 months wait. However… Read more

biggest disappointment is the fan noise coming from the head unit. I have the fan set at its lowest possible speed and its still too loud and makes conversation or watching TV more difficult. My bedroom(s) AC are much much more quieter. If you plan to buy this unit I would recommend it NOT be installed in anyplace where people will congregate ie its not suitable for a living room or dining room or family room or kitchen. It would be Ok if you planned to install it in a corridor or maybe say in a garage where the noise factor is not so important.

Terrible "dry function" – I bought this item new and had it professionally installed in a music studio approx 35sqm or 100m3. I was advised this would not only give me adequate temperature control but correct my greatest concern, humidity in this hot & humid summer we are having in early 2020. Sadly it fails miserably on humidity control. I am trying to maintain 50-55% and… Read more

it is regularly on 75-80% no matter which function is activated on the LG unit. "dry" or "cool". It does cool the room perfectly which is its primary function but I did want more and was advised it would be up to the task. Anyhow, I "acquiesced" (pardon the pun) and bought an additional dehumidifying unit from Dimplex which works a treat! believe it or not, it can removed 30L per day out of a new and well-insulated building. The problem is when I turn the air con unit back on any setting, the moisture in the room goes straight back up. So quite simply, how can the:"dry function" claim be made. I have just spent 45 minutes on the phone listening to an LG "customer care rep" read scripts about the unit's functions and place me on hold several times to get guidance. Ultimately, I am advised I can call a technician out but if it is deemed to be working properly I will be charged. The rep, could not tell me based on my information if that was normal or acceptable behavior from such a unit. I am happy to be charged if my version of events is incorrect but needed to know whether the results I have witnessed were deemed acceptable or not..... Very unimpressive! Quite clearly if it is not faulty, the unit at best should not be labeled as having a "dry" function.

Warranty - LG sells units on Qld Coast, won't honour warranty asserting 'corrosion' is excluded – I purchased LG units, installed by LG authorised installers. I bought two split system units. After a few months, the units broke down frequently. I called LG for warranty support. Initially repairers were sent out. It was clear to me the units were not fit for purpose, I sought replacements. LG said they will try to help me, but did the familiar… Read more

big company hand-ball to avoid taking responsibility: * sent assessors * time passes, case manager didn’t receive report * time passes, case manager away ill * sends another assessor * my calls being hand-balled around LG, waiting, phone calls drop out (you know the drill) Case manager leads me to believe a replacement will be considered Ultimately LG advises it’s a corrosion issue, we don’t warrant against corrosion (thanks LG, A - you should warrant the units you sell in Qld to be fit for Qld, which is a coastal city and, B - thanks for giving me the months and hours of wasted time on the phone).

Great units ! – Have had the LG WH24SL-18 (7.1kW) and the WH09SK-18 (2.5kW) installed recently. Must say I am impressed with the quick cooling from these units and they are also internet ready straight out of the box. I have 2 Mitsubishi units of same kWh capacity and they don't come close to cooling performance compared to the LG's. Also the ability to operate… Read more

from an app on my phone is terrific ! The app shows both the room temp and A/C set temp for both units and is well thought out with all the setting options required. We are yet to see the very high summer temps , but they have already showed they will be a good unit during summer .

Units were bought from 'Air Conditioning Warehouse Sales' at Underwood, QLD.

Only wish I had bought the LG's instead of the Mitsubishi's for my first 2 units, but then that's what happens when you listen to sales people instead of doing the research first.

Cooling isn’t great. Drips water – Overall I find it struggles to cool the room a bit when it’s hot. The air just doesn’t come out cold enough (and it feels very damp). It also drips condensation from the head which has marked the paint. Show details
