1 JAMES  · WORST EXPERIENCE – absolute joke hold your shares to ransom WORST COMPANY TO DEAL WITH
1 Nola Y.  · Terrible company – Terrible service and ridiculous fees. Wanted to charge me $90 to sell $800 worth of shares.
1 Matthew W.  · incredibly slow – The service is incredibly slow and inefficient; the mere existence of such a company is a blasphemy to the digital age.
1 Lorrie  · Terrible customer service – Unable to assist and couldn't wait to flick me to a broker. Staff appear to be undertrained, rude and unhelpful.
1 Roy89  · The worst website I have used – Makes you question how safe your information is on it. Took me a couple hours to try add holdings, I just gave up.

That Aboriginal Aaron gave me a hand, but I could hear some Torres straight music in the background. Helpful little menace but his phlem throat clearing was rather disturbing

Incompetent useless company – Worst company I have ever dealt with, like getting blood out of stone with receiving due payments. Attached email from Link advising yet another payment date( was due to be paid last week June), now September and still not paid. Now have instructed lawyers as not wasting more time on yet another useless conversation with the incompetents on finalising this very simple transaction

Don't use these people (especially by phone) – I have some Telstra shares. I needed to inform them about change of address. To do that I needed to open an account with Link Market Services. Then, to change address, had to open a full portfolio account. Added all information before website crashed (many times). Sent message via website. After several days, no reply. Tried phone. On hold for 25… Read more

minutes before giving up. After 20 days got email saying website now mended. Great service. Now I also find out that the 'free' telephone number shown on website not actually free. Cost me money. Complained to them, they refused to compensate or change their website.

Unbelievable over an hour to actually log in after they sent me an email tell me they had changed my correspondence method to something I did not want. WTH super frustrating just leave it a lone.

48 minutes to update a password without result reflects badly on an organisation. Companies who respect customers will ring back so time is not wasted and will employ more staff if calls are too many to handle within a reasonable time. I am not impressed with a company that undertakes to manage a share registry who treat customers with such disdain.

I lost quite a bit of money given Link Market Services would not let me sell my shares when I wanted to. They had already verified my identity but insisted on doing so again. As part of that, they wanted to send me a code as 2 factor authentication. Instead of texting or emailing it to me like any other modern financial services firm, they chose… Read more

to send it via snail mail and it took 3 weeks to get to me. The first person I spoke to had forgotten to mail it and then it coincided with the Easter break. The share price had moved significantly in that time and they would not take responsibility for the loss they had caused me.

Waiting time for share registry services > 45 minutes and still waiting. The public should not have to wait this long and experience such bad customer service. Lack of customer support staff - obviously poor management in control

Strap yourself in! – Link Market Services ( now MUFG Corporate Markets) – The Gold Standard in Corporate Torture If you’ve ever thought, “Hey, I’d love to waste months of my life navigating a labyrinth of pointless bureaucracy!”, then Link Market Services /MUFG Corporate Markets is the perfect place for you. Let’s start with the basics—changing my address. Should be… Read more

easy, right? Wrong. It took over three months, countless emails, and even actual letters (who still does this?!) just to convince them I had moved. I half expected them to demand a selfie of me standing outside my new house holding today’s newspaper.

Then came the name change saga. Since my former company no longer exists, I naturally wanted the shares transferred to my name so I could sell them. But instead of a simple process, I was thrown into a bureaucratic nightmare spanning two more months. Link Market Services /MUFG insisted I provide letters from ASIC proving they no longer had an interest in the shares. ASIC themselves said, “Mate, that’s nonsense,” but Link Market Services /MUFG dug in their heels, determined to make my life as difficult as possible.

But wait—there’s more! When I tried to log in to their new website, my username and password (which worked before) were suddenly useless. Instead, I got an email telling me I needed a login code from Google Authenticator... despite NEVER setting up two-factor authentication. At this point, I suspect MUFG is just running a social experiment to see how long people will tolerate pure absurdity before giving up.

Now, here’s the kicker—I still have Telstra shares trapped in their system, but selling them would barely cover the brokerage fee. So basically, they get the money, and I get the pleasure of funding their incompetence. No thanks.

MUFG Corporate Markets: Where customer service goes to die, and logic is a foreign concept. If they rebrand again, I suggest “Catch-22 Financial Services”—it would be far more accurate.

Avoid at all costs. Unless, of course, you enjoy corporate torture.

Absolutely abysmal – Noted I had 2 Cba shares left over, after I thought I’d sold all a year ago. Went to sell, but noted they didn’t have my current address. Changed on line and then found out I couldn’t sell for 10 working days, as result of detail change. Waited that period and then noted they didn’t have my account details to credit proceeds of sale. I updated and… Read more

ofc, then had to wait another 10 working days. Finally, can now sell the two shares and they are going to charge me $99.00 - absolutely unbelievable

Avoid at all costs – Zero customer service - they do not reply to emails, do not answer the phone. Crappy website that is barely functional, I have rarely encountered a business with so little regard for it's own customers. Avoid like the plague.

Red tape – I recently had the displeasure of having to lodge a complaint with Link Market Services. While the company itself has proven to be unhelpful and unresponsive (hence the complaint in the first place!), I was incredibly impressed by their new Complaints Manager, Steve. Unlike many others in a similar role, Steve actually did what he said he would.… Read more ·  1

He provided his direct phone number and, shock of all horrors, actually called when he said he would! He was incredibly helpful and understanding, and genuinely tried his hardest to resolve my issue.

Unfortunately, it seems Link Market Services' policies and procedures are so restrictive that even Steve's best efforts couldn't change the final outcome. This reflects poorly on Link Market Services, not on Steve. He went above and beyond, demonstrating excellent customer service and a genuine desire to help.

If only the rest of Link Market Services operated with the same level of care and attention, I wouldn't have had to lodge a complaint in the first place! In short: * Steve: 5/5 stars - Excellent communication, helpful, and genuinely tried to assist. * Link Market Services: 1/5 stars - Terrible customer service, unresponsive, and seemingly unwilling to resolve issues.

Share sale – LIES LIES LIES! selling my shares and was reassured that they would be sold in 5 days. Called back again and spoke with an Armon, it was actually quite nice, I’d say, though I started to drift off when the topic shifted to oyster digging in the islands.

Hate them. Make me want to cry – They are so so so so so so bad that they make me want to cry. I hate them with a passion. My dad had shares with them. I contacted them in January to ask how many he had on his date of death, and their value. Fast forward to October, we have UK probate granted, I begin to doubt the figure I was given, I email them for clarification, massive delay,… Read more

and then a response saying I need to fill in a paper form, send it by international post, and add a 50 dollar fee if I want a statement of the number and value of his shares on the date of his death. We all need to complain to the ombudsman.

Terrible Share Registry – Wouldn't even give them a star. Their systems wouldn't update my tax details. Now half the dividend payments are withheld by the ATO. The staff weren't very helpful. Don't buy any shares on the ASX with Link as the registry.

Very poor site to deal with, but staff are helpful to try and sort the company's issues – Totally abominable 'service' - really 'service' is the greatest misnomer I can think of! Waited an hour to get spoken to, Armin was helpful but the sale of two parcels of Telstra shares was a total fiasco. One of the steps in the sale process requires a box to be ticked, but the box isnt visible !!! He told me that, and that the tech people had… Read more

been told to fix it. Eventually got that sale done then the site tells me that the [same] info I have given has to be 'reviewed', and am thus on the phone waiting again. 9/10/24 Finally heard from Link, Claudia and Naqeeb did their best and the sale appears to have gone through I strongly recommend that you NEVER use Link if you have other options, the company just isnt trying to get its act together. On current performance and seeing the other reviews, avoid Link MS

Very poor user experience – I've just tried to update my TFN and Communication Preferences for my share-holdings on Link. What should have been easy and done in a few clicks was the exact opposite. Their website was awful and their app isn't much better. After wasting quite a lot of time and with much cussing I eventually did get my TFN sorted on the app (their website… Read more

wouldn't do it), but was unable to switch comms preferences from snail-mail to email for a new holding. Link sould get a ZERO rating. It's baffling why some of our biggest companies use this awful clunky registry.

Heart Breaking – This company has been absolutely horrendous to deal with, my mother left me shares, I provided all the correct documents requested this has been going on since 2018, every time i call they tell me they require something else, so far its cost me hundreds of dollars to get my mothers death certificate reissued with the company claiming that they… Read more

didnt recieve it even though it was sent by registered post which was received. This company keeps no documentation together with different team representatives contradicting each other. To me this is not about the shares left to me, it's about fulfilling my mother's wishes which they couldn't care less about, but were happy to take thousands of dollars from my mum and her family. It's absolutely disgusting and I will not stop fighting for what's right. Awful company does not help, nor do they care.

Terrible Waste Of My Time - Is My Money Lost??? – I have been trying a month now to redeem an investment - after initially emailing the form, I’ve had to follow up several times, including getting the fund managers of the investment company to work from their side. I’ve called, waited on hold several times, waited for call backs which never came, and had my case marked as critical, which is… Read more

obviously just more words for The Same Level Of Disdain But By A Different Department. It’s been a month now, I’ve been given three different dates of redemption, two of which have passed by with no money in the account. Their systems are manifestly inadequate evidently, and their customer service is non-existent. The latest one to sucker me into thinking they were going to help was Armin. Again, no further action from him. If you have a choice, if you are making an investment and have the chance to ask your fund manager, if you are looking for a company for your shares, don’t deal with them, and don’t deal with anyone who deals with them. It really is the Hotel California of Market ‘Services’.

Too complicated for selling shares – Very complicated system for selling shares, staff not helpful. Wanted original certified documents to be sent by mail. Said they would mail forms, have not received them in 7 working days. PATHETIC - ABYSMAL - SHAMBOLIC - Need I go on? – A shambolic joke of an outfit to be avoided at all costs. I have been trying for over a month to recover the princely some of $40 for some unsaleable shares that basically became worthless. Do you think these morons would pay up? Dream on. First the bank account details were wrong so tried to update them via the website. That didn't work. So… Read more

eventually they sent me a form to use. Filled that in. That was rejected because I omitted to include the company name that the shares pertained to. That should not have mattered as it was only my bank account details I was updating. Bear in mind, when Link reject something they don't tell you. You sit there fat, dumb and happy wondering when you will receive the funds. It's only when you contact them (if you can get through) that you discover the latest nitpick that they have used as an excuse to stop paying you. The latest lame excuse for not coughing up my forty bucks was because I had used a "digital signature" on my latest iteration of their form. Despite the rest of the entire planet using digital signatures in business transactions, Link either don't understand them or trust them. In sheer desperation I have copied in their CEO, [Name Removed] in an attempt to get this pathetic issue resolved. I would encourage other poor saps who have had the misfortune to deal with Link to do likewise. Good Luck!

A nightmare to deal with- akin to banging your head on the wall – Completely disgusted with this company. Whatever I do I cannot log in. The password is wrong when it's right.
