1  SHARON W.  · It was great now VERY disappointed – Earl grey flavour in Intense tea bags. Always buy them but now going to change.
1  Cassie Williams  · Changed tea bags – Unfortunately Lipton was our favourite, but since the change it’s weak and terrible to taste, the smaller paper holder is to small

I have been buying Lipton tea bags for years. I have found the taste is not the same. A lot weaker. And a large percentage of the teabags are breaking open as soon as you add water to them. This needs to be fixed. I can see that a lot of people have commented on the same thing. This is a waste of money to be buying them. Show details

Lipton Black Tea has Changed! – I have been a Lipton’s Black Tea drinker for over 45 years. In September 2024 I noticed the taste had changed. Much weaker flavor! Almost tasteless. I thought it might be me at first so asked my husband and son what they thought without prompting them why. They both said the same thing. I bought 2 new packets from different stores thinking the… Read more

batch at the store I bought from had been tainted. All had the same bland taste. I contacted the company asking if there had been a glitch, if they had had any complaints, and whether things would go back to normal. They asked for more information such as where, when, how much I paid, etc. I recieved a $20 voucher to spend at a Woolworths store and no explanation whatsoever. I’m trying to get used to another brand, however I miss my old brew so much.

bad quality bags – What is going on with Lipton tea bags? I have been drinking Lipton's for 40+years For the last 12 months or so the tea bags are breaking/leaking tea leaves. The number of cups of tea I’ve had to throw out during this time is not acceptable. I usually buy several cartons (2x1000) at a time (most recent purchase 4000 and the results/loss is unacceptable. Tried to write on the Lipton website and it fails every time...funny about that! Show details ·  1

Tasty and affordable – I love the taste of this tea, it was the first tea I tried and is still my favourite! Very nice flavour, I also love that it's reasonably priced and can be bought in large packs. It's a staple in our pantry, I can't go a day without it!

This is a great tea for the budget concious – I love that this tea not only tastes good but is usually one of the cheaper brands out there. The fact that it comes in large as well as small boxes makes it very versatile. The taste can be a bit weaker than other brands but it doesn't bother me with this brand. Inexpensive and comes in larger boxes.  Show reply

This is the best tea to have as a black middle eastern, style. For example it has a clean & pure tea flavour minus the aftertaste. It's designed to be drunk black. For example you need 2 small teaspoons of raw sugar in a glass cup, 1 tea bags, a few leaves of fresh mint, break 1 cardamom seed, add 1 clove, add hot water, dip the teabag only 10… Read more

times, so it's not strong, squeeze teabag in the cup & discard the tea bags. Stir thourly & enjoy. You'll be able to taste all the flavours infused with every sip.

Overall dissatisfied – Tea bags are thin and flimsy they don’t hold a lot for the standard cup which makes a weak cup of tea also over half of the tags fall off when opening them poor show Lipton tea will be sourcing another brand from now on Show details

Being ripped off by Lipton – Been a Lipton black tea drinker for 40 years. Last month I paid to much at Woolies for the 2 pack box. Not only that, the teabags have less tea and now taste weak as home brand tea. I WILL NOT BUY LIPTON anymore. I'm switching to nerada. It's cheaper and good flavour with old school strength. Lipton, you're grab for profit is losing customers.… Read more

Even at work, ppl were complaining about how weak Lipton is now. Boss also switched to other brand which made ppl happy. Never again Lipton.

HOW TO KILL A GOOD CUPPA!!!! – Why spoil a great cuppa by using CHEAP NASTY FLIMSY BAGS that ALWAYS burst open, once in the pot. Sick of spitting tea leaves. Not just a one-off - they're all rubbish. Get with it Lipton - you sure know how to ruin a good cuppa. Show details

You had one job teabag! – I'm sick of getting a mouthful of tea leaves everytime. How hard is it to make a tea bag that does not break? Literally every other brand has got this right but not Lipton. Raised a complaint and after 2 weeks they gave me a measly voucher. Will never touch Lipton again

Weak,Tasteless & Bags Break! – Been drinking Liptons for over 25yrs and this box will be my last. It's weak, watery and tasteless, even when using the Intense Flavour and 2 bags per cup! Very disappointing and frustrating, the bags also break every time. Hope the change was worth it, you've lost me and quite a few other customers from what I can see. Off to find another brand, goodbye.

Rank and disgusting !!! – Been drinking lipton black tea for as long as I can remember. Purchase new box yesterday and what a shock! I threw out 3 cups of tea, cleaned my kettle before I realised it's the actual tea. I seriously can't drink it. Can put my finger on flavour as it doesn't taste like anything as such but it's not the great black tea I'm use to.... now to find a new tea.... lipton you suck!!!! Show details

Lipton Black Tea – My wife and I have been drinking your black tea for a minimum of 40 plus years. Over the past years the taste has gone to —— we are terribly disappointed. I have contacted Lipton at least 5 times to have say they will send out some free coupons. Still waiting it’s been at least 4 months with call’s again which say some crap about the coupon… Read more

company they use is at fault for not receiving the coupons. Which has nothing to do with the no, to terribleness taste of the tea bags now. I read the company was purchased and I’m pretty sure that is the real answer to why it’s taste has changed. Extremely dissatisfied customer. Please figure out a way to go back to the excellent taste it used to be.

Lipton English breakfast tea, what a joke!!! – I tried the lipton English breakfast tea today and what a total disappointment, weak tasteless poor quality, lipton has moved to the bottom of the other brands with this one, and they say on the box rich & robust flavours what a joke they should be ashamed of themselves for false representation of their tea just to push a product. No more lipton for me sorry to say, I've been drinking lipton for 45 years, its time for a change. Show details

Mouth full of tea leaves – I once only purchased Liptons up until a few years ago . Every cup the teabags were breaking . I changed to Tetley’s never had an issue . Fly buys had a points offer so I bought a box and even though on all the review sites it speaks of broken bags nothing was done to fix it , so I am now throwing tea bags out even though I am throwing money away Show details

Recently bad taste – Hi, I have been buying and drinking Lipton black tea for years and for about a week with a new box, it taste weird. It’s like a sour taste or a soap taste or something. I can’t figure out what it taste like but it’s bad. I can’t stand it. I’ve tried different things but nothing is changing the taste for the better. Is there a recall or have there been other complaints. Something is wrong with it. Show details

Was a fan! – Taste of Lipton's Black Tea was preferred to other brands. Have been buying for many, many years. Unfortunately not purchasing in the future as now the bags release their fine black leaves and makes drinking an awful experience. Have tried different "solutions" but results are the same. Suggest a double fold of bags where stapled to stop leaves escaping.
