Dodgy builder worthy of a story on A Current Affair – Unprofessional, unethical and dishonest. An untrustworthy builder with no concept of fair work. Continuing to ignore contact for 6 months to avoid completing build Lofty have the audacity to issue a "mutual cancellation letter" pressuring me to sign. Further to this they attempted to sneak in a non-disparagement clause to protect their reputation from honest reviews from their customer base. (see attached picture) For those who ever face this issue know that private commercial disputes do not override consumer protection laws and will be dismissed in court by the ACCC. (Google Fowler Homes ACCC Non-disparagement Dec 2022)
Build never started after nearly 2.5 years. No slab was laid to concrete and Lofty continue to take no accountability of their absence
If I could give a 0 star I would – Start to finish it’s been absolute hell. Their customer service is sub par, terrible coordination of trades. Excuse after excuse for delays that are caused by their mistakes. I’m sick to death of it. DO NOT BUILD WITH LOFTY, avoid at all costs. Save yourself the misery and trauma. Avoid if you can - or be cautious if you build with Lofty – Lofty are good builders to deal with and are friendly, polite and respond quickly to queries. it took them 2.5 years to build a small two bedroom townhouse. We went through 5 different site supervisors meaning contact with the mid construction was very difficult. Our block was left unattended for months at a time with building supplies left unattended, with no fencing or security erected, meaning some supplies and materials were stolen. Our handover date was pushed back. Finally, after living in the home for over a month, we are still having issues with them to do with maintenance, unfinished products (that were presented to us as 'done' upon practical completion) and poor build quality in terms of carpentry, joinery and flooring. We have a leak in our ceiling, uneven flooring and paint marks all over our flooring. Things simply aren't finished and they constantly say they will get things done, or completed, when they don't. There is a clear disconnect between Lofty themselves and their subcontractors. I wouldn't recommend Lofty AT ALL, unless you want your build to be over budget, delayed and be disappointed in the end product.

aren't even close to moving in. Seems like they are going broke, can't keep up with what they have committed to and don't really give a crap about their customers. Horrible horrible experience. I just want my house finished so I can be done with Lofty. Do yourself a favour and go elsewhere!

Poor quality! Poor Service! – The builder use cheap materials with no warranty of their work. Bathroom got water penetration issues after just 3 and half years. Reported to Builder. They just send a guy took some photos. Not checking water penetration sign with moisture meter at all. Then they asked you to wait then ignore you for weeks. a few months warranty for maintenance. They don't consider Builder's statutory warranties at all. Very unprofessional. Legal action is required to protect owner's right covered by the Building Work Contractors Act 1995 (BWCA).

Not that great but not too bad – We are building our first home with Lofty building group in Adelaide. I will write my honest and unbiased review here and keep editing as building progress happen. selection we had fews issues. Their selection consultant was hard to reach out. She takes sometimes a week or two to get back to us. When we did few upgrades in selection then they took over a month to calculate just estimation for our upgrades. Which is unacceptable. We were so frustrated then we didn’t change much selection later. The good thing was their selection consultant has helped so much choosing colour combinations and external selection which are trending at the moment.
All the approvals from council went very smooth. Their office manager [Name Removed] is so good answering our all queries very promptly.
Now after a month of all the council and bank approvals they have not started anything yet. Our process has been delayed every single stage of the construction so far. They started construction after 50 days after all approval came. We were so excited about our new home but now no more excitement left! I hope management address our concerns.

Updating review as we got handover:
After long delays we finally got Handover. Site supervisor was helpful fixing errors we found during practical walkthrough. Also their newly joined building admin transparently answered our questions at the end. I noticed overall they used reasonable good quality products in our house except the windows frame and fly-screen. Some minor lock and door problems we found after handover but their Maintainance team promptly fixed them. So increasing their ratings due to some good experience with them at the end.

We were also able to walk through some of their newly built houses, where we had the opportunity to experience and see the high quality of their homes in person.
