Makin Mattresses Bellissimo Duo 4000

The most uncomfortable bed I’ve ever slept on – My partner purchased a Bellissimo 4000 around 5 years ago. I have been sleeping on for 3 years and gradually been affect by back pain. I’ve put it down to the bed. I have been flipping it as directed but after the first night of flipping it immediately gets the body outline and I find we are both in a ditch in the mattress. All the parts of the bed are so heavy it’s very difficult to flip. I would not recommend anyone buy these beds. The warranty is not good as other more comfortable beds have 10 year warranties and are made in Queensland and not by Mr Harvey. I feel it has not our expectations and I would like to access my statutory warranty as I would expect to longer that 5 years out of it for the money. We are very unhappy.

Worst mattress ever bought – We bought this mattress almost a year ago and have had the pillow top replaced three times. The first two pillow tops were faulty with body indentations that were so bad it left a major hump in the middle. The third pillow top was apparently modified to fix the indentations, but after two nights the indentations were worse and so uncomfortable to sleep on that I had to sleep on the spare bed which is over ten years old and I slept a lot better on it. The mattress feels like a block of concrete to sleep on and having fibromyalgia the sales consultant told me that this bed will be very suitable for me as its soft and supportive. I wake in pain that I never experienced on my previous mattress. The third pillow top is now being modified with foam after they refused a refund. We even had to argue that they modify the comfort level on the pillow top for free after we were told that we will have to pay for it when we had never had it modified before. If this does not fix the comfort of this mattress I will take it up with the ACCC which clearly states that:

A product or good has a major problem when:

it has a problem that would have stopped someone from buying it if they’d known about it

it is unsafe

it is significantly different from the sample or description

it doesn’t do what the business said it would, or what you asked for and can’t easily be fixed.

it is substantially unfit for its common purpose and can’t easily be fixed within a reasonable time

it does not meet the specific purpose you asked for and cannot easily be fixed within a reasonable time

We are now waiting for the return of the third pillow top and if it still does not comply to the description of comfort and support which we were told and showed in the showroom, we should be entitled to a refund.
