  Port Douglas

I was excited for a fun holiday in sun filled Port Douglas. Unfortunately Mantra Portsea ruined my entire trip. The bedding of the room included bodily fluids from a previous occupant and it was evident that there was little attempt to clean the room between guests. They do not bother to clean the room while you are there either. The pool was… Read more

also oily like they hadn't cleaned it in years.

They promised to move me to a clean room (which would have been a downgrade with no offer of discount) but after multiple times failing to have it ready when promised I had to move to another hotel as all confidence in the cleanliness of the premises was gone.

Avoid this place unless you enjoy sleeping in strangers bodily fluids.

I booked the accommodation 4 weeks in advance, specifically requesting 2-bedroom accessible rooms due to my 44 year old son being severely disabled and in a wheelchair. I also followed up and received reassurances that we would have this. To my horror when we arrived and checked in, we were allocated a normal 2 adjoining rooms with no bathroom… Read more

facilities for someone with severe mobility issues, the bathrooms had no rails or shower chairs, the hallways were too narrow to fit his chair also. We had to get the front staff to move us into another room, they moved my other son into a room further down the floor which was not ideal as I need his assistance with my disabled son, the lock on the room they gave him did not work at all and the manager could not fix it so they had to move him to an even further room, this was day 1. On day 2. another manager/supervisor ([Name Removed]) very professional and understandable moved us to an accessible 2bedroom, he apologized for the miscommunication with his staff. However I would never stay there again as the sheets were stained, housekeeping did a very poor job and a front counter staff member a young Indian lady was very rude to my disabled son, who would aways say good morning and good afternoon when exiting or entering the lift and she would turn her head or totally ignore him.

At Mantra Kingscliff found a hidden gem on salt beach. Booked this hotel by accident instead of the one in Gold Coast. Ended up visiting and to our surprise it was massive. Anyone whose been there would agree with the stunning lobby and great staff. Chose the spa bath room. Swimming pool was under maintenance however it was ok during covid. Show details

check for onsite parking – The location to the stadium or arena's are excellent, the hotel is lovely, the service is great, and the rooms are spacious, clean, updated and the bed is so so comfortable. This is a place you want to stay in and not leave. The only negative is onsite parking, we had to park 1 km away, due to an event as parking was limited onsite, but we did… Read more

request parking over 5 months earlier when we booked accommodation. But was told, you cannot book in, it is first in on the day, first served. Then when we checked our booking closer to the date, I was told you had to book, so when we did, it was too late. When you drive interstate and are not familiar with the area, and have to find secure parking, it is so frustrating and ruins the experience.

Great peaceful stay – We had a wonderful stay at The Mantra. We booked the spa onsite for a massage and it was amazing. We had a connecting room with the kids and the rooms were so spacious with a wonderful view. Internet was dicey, but we did not care. We asked for 3rd floor even after reading the reviews but we loved it. Staff are wonderful too. The walk to the… Read more

Mantra Bunbury Rooms – Maintenance & Cleanliness: TERRIBLE Bathroom floor, shower recess & surfaces required thorough cleaning. The toilet seat needed to be secured. The towel rail needed to be replaced/fixed securely. Carpet was stained, needed cleaning. Bathroom door handles needed to be fixed. Reported this to Mantra Bunbury Reservations with pictures. No acknowledgment or response.

Surfers Paradise Not – 10 days too long. 2BR unit in Tower 3 had convenient location only thing going for it. Overdue for upgrade - tired & dirty. Pet friendly which left evidence of pet hair on Black carpets. Holes in sheets, lumpy pillows fit for dogs not humans. Shower over bath with no non slip base & outdated fixed shower head that came out in the 70's & wouldn't… Read more

lock in place. Kitchen equipped for takeaways. Block out curtains hanging off tracks & not locked into place on ends allowing sunlight in too early. One window had a gap between the frame & wall allowing cold air in . The worst indoor pool that had hair floating due to poor maintenance. Given the many units on offer one would expect better but maybe that's why it had low occupancy in late May. I rate it as 2 star.

Fine place to stay is Mackay – If you are holidaying or visiting Mackay on business then consider staying at the Mantra Mackay. Very comfortable and roomy accommodation supported by courteous, polite and helpful staff in all parts of the hotel including reception, cleaning and restaurant services. We had a marvellous two night stay at the Mantra, Mackay in a very relaxed and quiet atmosphere with staff showing a great willingness to make the stay as enjoyable as possible.

Everything cost, even coffee in the room – The service is terrible, no room service, no cleaning, even when I asked for coffee pods for the coffee machine in the room they told me it costs 10$ for a box. There are small ants everywhere in the room, there is no soap provided and there is dehumidifiers running 24/7 that are too noisy and load. I don’t recommend this accommodation option. Show details

Dietary requirements AVOID Club Croc – Convenient location but the cook pays lip service to dietary requirements says they are happy to accommodate then can't toast your special bread that they don't supply because she has to clean the oven WTH...then tells you its against the law for them to cook food not provided by them when they can't or won't provid it. Renovations happening but it wasnt too noisy while we were there – Didn't get notice about renos until 3 days before arrival. Caused alot of stress. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and in the accommodation deal. Bar staff were excellent. Pool was very warm but I believe it wasn't heated just from the weather being very hot. Show details

Mantra On View Surfers Paradise – Horrible place to stay, old smelly stained carpet, broken cupboards, smell of old perfume and to top it off cockroaches. Do yourself a favour and shop around for better accommodation. I will never use Mantra again ever.

Mantra Hotels - Excellent Local Booking Customer Service Centre – I write this review with the end of my search a few days ago, for a hotel stay, to book in February 2020, for my mum's birthday. Given the family task of finding a hotel, I decided on Mantra Zanzibar Mooloolaba Queensland. I phoned the number listed on Mantra Hotel's website, and had a conversation with a female Customer Service… Read more

Representative. I explained my special birthday event requests for an apartment, asked questions, which she readily answered.

I secured my apartment of choice and dates for 3 night stay with a credit card number, no deposit required, easy cancellation policy, and same price as best price on all 3rd Party Hotel booking sites that I previously checked. I was informed, that if i found the hotel added a cheaper price for my dates, I could contact the Hotel for the new lower price to apply to my booking! Winning!

The following day I spoke to my family, we decided to extend our stay. I had my booking confirmation, rang hotel, quoted the booking number on keypad. My call was answered by a male customer service representative who retrieved my booking easily and confirmed he could extend my stay, and rechecked pricing for best deal and i rebooked my new dates, and more questions readily answered. This representative was equally as professional and friendly as the person spoken to the day before.

I hope Mantra retain their local customer service centre. After my call, my updated booking details had arrived via email without discrepancies.

I have established that I was able to quickly and easily make a hotel booking , make special requests and then change my booking with ease. The people I spoke to, were friendly, helpful, and professional. Keep up the great work Mantra Hotels :)Thankyou for a great booking service experience.

If you have had the patience to read to this point, and want to know why I wrote this review. I want to support and highlight this local based call service centre, based on my recent positive experience from Mantra Hotels staff . The great service was in total contrast to my experience with a 3rd party hotel website, which I cannot mention, but their global customer service centre is located offshore, that review is written elsewhere on this review site.

Appalling ! – From the start, we were told a $200 pre authorization fee was needed. Would’ve been good for prior knowledge. Then as checking in we were told we would have no daily cleaning service so no clean sheets or towels mins you we were there for a 5 day stay .. we questioned why and worker just said they don’t offer it ..We proceeded with checking in. … Read more

We were then advised when new towels are needed we are to place the dirty towels out the front of the door then call reception and they will replenish it for us. Well 2 days later we did as we were told just to call reception and get a rude worker sighing saying no you bring it to reception.

Packing was a joke. We were told parking available however first in first serve. If miss out park in front of the hotel. So we did that on the Saturday to come out to a parking ticket !!! For a hotel that has 3 towers a parking lot of 15 or so space.

Poor customer service, hygiene wasn’t up to usual standard. Furniture outside rusty and spider webs all over. For a hotel charging that much you’d at least expect a decent level of service. They shouldn’t be charging that much. It’s a joke.

Worst stay !

Not the Usual Stds for Mantra – My wife and I recently stayed at the Mantra Triology in Cairns, having stayed with Mantra Hotels in the past it was pretty disappointing. The Apartment was needing some tender loving care, the bathroom window we opened and the Rubber sealing was falling away from the Window, I had to push the slit back on to the frame but with no avail the seal… Read more

was still falling off. Some of the blinds would not open or shut properly so the cords and poles used to adjust the blinds were not working and hence the light was coming through some of the blinds, which meant you had to ensure one was dressed. The Telephone was disgusting it looked like it had not been cleaned properly and was filthy I did not want to talk into the phone to reception made my skin crawl. I cannot believe in this day and age you had to pay for the Wifi, right now whilst I am typing this I am staying at the Ramada at Port Douglas and the Wifi is free, and I paid alot more to stay at the Mantra than I did at the Ramada. The two of the chairs on the balcony the webbing was splitting away from the chair frames and my wife had almost fallen through the webbing. The noise from the garbage disposal in the hallway was annoying everytime someone had opened the chute door the door would slam shut and it sounded like a car crashing, not sure what could have been done here maybe some sort of seal to dampen the noise. The Positive side was the room being well appointed with all the amentities, Stove,Dishwasher,Etc,Etc, location was good as well, just lacked the finishing expectations of a Hotel like the Mantra. The People at reception looked like they did not want to be there, except there was one staff member who was very happy and wished everyone as they walked through reception a pleasant day. I am one of those people who will never complain I just do not go back, I vote with my money and where I spend it and certainly would not be with Mantra Triology again, what worries me is I have booked to stay at Mantra Club Croc at Airlie Beach, that will be another review.

Very bad holidays with Mantra Crown Tower in Surfers Paradise, Gold Coast – Only the pool side within the Mantra Crown Tower was good. We came a few hours early at the hotel. The front desk welcomed us by saying that "when the room is ready we will phone you. We can not take your luggage to your room. Your luggage is your own responsibility and you have to keep it in that room and here is the key." I entered in that room… Read more

with all my luggeges and the luggage storage room was in poor quality with some broken steels and studf, and I cut my finger. We took a self-contained family apartment with 2 beds and 2 showers/toilets, but we found on the first night that the washing machine was not in working condition. In fact, it flooded the carpet and tiled areas in the middle of the first night. In the next day, we were given a second apt but we discovered that both the air conditioning system and the dishwasher are not working correctly. It was 30 degree and the air conditioner was not working and that is in your holidays for which we have waited years. Eventually, we had sleepless nights for the next three nights. The interiors were poor quality and shows a clear sign of old and cracked frameworks and items. On the final day of our departure and with great surpeise, we find that Mantra Crown Tower takes $2 for each 30 seconds to use their weight machine. How ridiculous is this? I haven't seen this before anywhere in a hotel. When told this to the front desk, their response was we didn't do it, one external company placed it like a vending machine. So, basically it means Mantra takes commission from the third party for this weight machine space. Mantra must know that this is an era of digital communication and poor customer service would cost them a lot.

Just perfect – We did a last minute booking while we were in Adelaide in April. The person I spoke to hooked us up with great deal. Will definitely stay there there when we visit Adelaide next.

Beauriful View.. but shockingly appointed – Stayed here for two nights. The only good thing I can say about this, is that the view is to die for. HOWEVER: Whoever bought the furniture, never tried to sit on any of it. It's disgustingly uncomfortable. The bed was comfortable enough, but it was merely two halves pushed together. with a crack therefore down the centre. (I haven't seen… Read more

not what you would expect for the money they charge – we stayed at the mantra motel at the Hervey bay boat marina. on Monday the 8th of august 2016. the cost for our stay was $161.00 for one night. this is what we were given for our money. on arrival we were greeted with a pleasant person whom processes our room and pointed to the direction advising we were on the ground flour. the room. we had a… Read more

king size bed and was very comfortable. the amenities were very clean. with a nice shower. the room had no microwave. the room was very small we had a TV and was air-conditioned . we left to visit some friend on the mariner. and upon our return. we found that the main light that was directly above the bed had NO switch to turn off, the only way you can turn of the main light is by taking to key card put of it slot. by doing this you also have no lights, air-conditioning, TV or heating to boil water for a cuppa.

This was the first time we had stayed here at the Mantra Hervey bay Qld . In most cases we don't really take much care of the price of things, as long as we get value for our dollar, in this case we can only conclude that the Mantra, is very well over rated, over priced, we give this motel a rating of 1 1/2 star. the question at which we always say is, will be stay here again. unfortunately. is this case the answer would be a definitely NO.
