All our meals had something not right- no customer care service
We felt that the recipes hadn’t been tested- 1st meal bland,needed something, 2nd meal had a bitter after taste that we couldn’t really identify, 3rd meal tooooo sweet........ and now We have now been charged for another box with no way of changing meal selection - the expectation is that you have to re-order, skip, select almost on the same day your trial box arrives- zero response from 2 seperate email addresses when I complained- now have an unwanted box arriving with meals we wouldn’t have ordered
Never had any of these issues with hellofresh

After placing an order myself some time ago, my daughter received a voucher, so thought she would order, and then we planned to take it in turns ordering every other week. Because she also lives at my address, Marley spoon took it upon themselves to refund the half price charge - that weeks order never arrived. The following week they charged full price, and an order was not even needed that week. Then because I missed the "cut off for queensland orders" they have also taken it upon themselves to order us another full priced box for me the next...week... which I don't want and cant edit because I wasn't aware of the order until after the cut off date! They are not helpful on the phone, and not understanding or flexible. Food is average, freshness lacking. Marley spoon you may have scammed 2 orders out of us but we will never be ordering from you again, your opposition have our business from now on.

I got on the website a few days ago, to check out the price difference between Hello Fresh and found I had to "restart" my account. Before leaving, I thought I shut it down but later found you have to answer a barrage of questions in order actually shut the account down. Imagine my surprise when I found $55 deducted from my account and a delivery expected Monday. I had not budgeted for this and the worse part, I won't even be home to enjoy my purchase!!! Do you think Marley Spoon will refund? No they won't! It has been "processed now" an...d there is no going back even though I notified them immediately. The ending procedure of this account is a scam and needs to be reviewed. Why should I spend 5 minutes answering your stupid questions? I still have not had a response from my complaint I emailed yesterday. NEVER AGAIN!

What a disappointing experience
Waited all day for delivery that never came. Called and was informed it was lost in transit, then after further discussion was informed they don't deliver to my area. Wish they had bothered to let me know when I ordered..or even sometime in the last week. Hopefully money is refunded promptly. Credit for the friendly and apologetic service person I spoke to though.
Has saved us.
I started Marley Spoon because I was so bored and tired of cooking for the family. The mental load of meal planning and shopping was so monotonous, I had better things to do. Before Marley Spoon we ate nothing but pasta and soup every meal. Now I give my kids 3 proper healthy meals a week, the rest of the time is still pasta and soup though.
I can think less about feeding the troops now and I really appreciate my renewed enthusiasm for meal times. I don't think I'll ever go back.
I saved money with Dinnerly for a while, but we only eat fish and vege and Dinnerly has no fish. Dinnerly was easier and quicker. Marley Spoon can be a bit too elaborate and time consuming with small kids but you can prep in advance which helps.
Premium price, poxy produce
You charge a premium for you service and produce. I do not expect my produce to be near it's useby date or veggies on the verge of mould like the capsiciums were. That is just nowhere near good enough. And this happened on the first time I tried your service. Enough said.
don't order if you work
if you work and get it delivered to work make sure its with a company that is open till 6pm cause they wont deliver early. You will just lose your food and Marley spoon don't care. I always got deliveries by lunchtime so didn't think it was an issue but this time my delivery isn't till 5pm. my work closes at 4. marley spoon told me too bad. Will NEVER order through this company again how completely unprofessional and not customer focused.
Terrible service and dodgy support
I had Marley spoon for a while, but then moved house, so of course I put my subscription on hold. I was considering whether to Start it again at my new place but needed to settle in first. Some weeks later I see a charge from Marley spoon who had resumed my service to my old place, even though I had suspended my service. Outrageous.I didnt even live at that address. They said I had logged into their website which had restarted the service. Debatable this was right (as i am highly skilled in I.T) but definitely did not authorise any change is service (suspended) or new charges. I pointed out I wasn't even living there, they couldn't care. They are out to dupe you at any turn
What did I do before Marley?
Couldn't be happier with my Marley Spoon experience over the last 6 months! The app is really easy to use, happy with the choices of meals available, and customer service support has been great via email and phone. Deliveries are always on time and appreciate the text updates so I can make sure to get it into the fridge. They show how much they care about their customers with a monthly gift in your box of something useful like wooden spoons, balsamic vinegar etc. I live by myself so was finding it difficult to get motivated to cook nutritious m...eals and was resorting to ordering takeout far too often. Having a 2 person plan means I only have to cook every 2nd night as I save the 2nd portion for the next day which is a real treat. Every meal has been delicious and has really built up my confidence with cooking as I'm trying things I would have never made otherwise. Haven't had a single "fail" cooking attempt in the 6 months I've been cooking with Marley. Shocked to see so many negative reviews on here given my experience has been so overwhelmingly positive. My only drawback is I find the meals take a lot longer to cook than the recipes suggest - perhaps they don't include prep time or maybe I'm just slow haha. Also really enjoy the community they've built with their customers on Instagram as I find it really encouraging to keep making the effort. Would love to see some Christmas-themed meals on offer in December. Don't change a thing, Marley!
I opened an email from Marley Spoon that offered a $10 discount, at no time was I advised that the simple opening of this email would cost me $69 and a box of food I didn't order!
I spoke with customer service who were absolutely useless as well as being very hard to understand.
I was told it was my fault for opening the email...what a joke!
Under no circumstances did I authorise Marley Spoon to take money from my credit card, nor did I order food from them.

We placed our first order with Marley Spoon. I received an message to say it was on its way but it did not arrive. It was supposed to arrive during the early morning and when it didn't arrive I rang customer service however they are only attended from 7am so I had to delay leaving for work till I could speak to them in case they had delivered it to a neighbor by mistake and I would need to collect the delivery and put the ingredients in the fridge before leaving for work. On speaking to them and being left in hold for ages I was informed tha...t my delivery had been lost and would not be arriving. I was told that a credit would be raised against my account for the next delivery. I insisted that I be refunded....there will be no next order! The reason I was using Marley Spoon was because we are a very busy household and it would offer us convenience and time saving. My experience is the complete opposite! They were not able to organise another box to be delivered to me because "They only buy in enough to fill the orders". When were they going to tell me that they were not going to be delivering if I had not rung to check on my order? Pathetic excuse for customer service. They stuffed up but I have to now make alternate arrangements. NOT IMPRESSED!
Ordered our delivery for 19th at first however they changed the food selection, wasn’t good so I changed delivery till 26 th August ...receiving confirmation email..then early morning today received first order. Contacted them and they said , we will still receive next order..no apology..so I have cancelled and will use hello fresh. Also carrots, and cabbage had mould on them and very limp. packed on 15 th we received 19th. Think sweeting in bags. I sent photos thru to customer care.. however no response. Poor Custer service.
Great Saleswoman and tasty food.
Vicki, our saleswoman from the DDR did a fantastic job of laying out all of our options. We were impressed with our first initial experience. However, we did not rate the food at all. The portions were small and definitely not the freshest. We could easily spend the same at the supermarket and get twice as much in the long run.
Beware of the details of order cancellations - service desk can’t action in a timely manner
I thought I’d try Marley spoon out as a discount offered. I’d only cooked one meal, on the Tuesday 13th August and they’d already changed two ingredients on me ( chicken breast instead of thighs, and ramen noodles instead of egg noddles). I checked again on gluten free meal options and realised that it wasn’t extensive enough for my partner. On weds am 14th August 2019 I was billed $69.90 even though I hadn’t placed a further order. I went in and cancelled my membership that morning. I emailed them immediately asking for a refund of the $69.90.... This was 7 days out from next order delivery date . The service desk took 2 days to reply (Friday 16th August) and they tell me I’ve missed the 6 day window - meals I haven’t ordered will be delivered , and I can “gift them to relatives or get neighbours to pick them up”. I’m very unhappy about all this - i have no control over service desk staff ability to,handle requests in a timely manner . it will be the last time I use a meal service like this. $70 for 3 meals is not inexpensive/ cheap.
We have grown to love it
We started using Marley Spoon 4 months ago and we weren't that impressed initially however we've gotten to love it now that we've gotten to choose the right recipes.
We love the fresh ingredients, the easy to follow instructions and the right portion sizes. We have lost weight and have kept it stable.
Over the 4 months we have also learned lots of me ways of using ingredients we never used before. Our cooking skills have improved immensely and we are experimenting with different methods we have learned.

First delivery was delivered to wrong address and they couldn't have cared less
I was excited to receive my first delivery this morning only to wake up and find that my food wasn’t at my door but at someone else’s door. I called up to let them know and they weren’t overly apologetic, I was told I’d get a refund within 5-10 days and wasn’t even offered a replacement. Wow!
Please do not reply to this review and insinuate that I may have got my own address wrong as I've lived here all my life and I have the easiest address to find. You delivered to the incorrect address and I have the photo that the driver took to prove this so please don't make lame excuses for your careless drivers.

We’ve found that another similar kind of service used a lot of plastic in all of their meal deliveries and I was wondering how you packaged food and if all the spices and condiments were wrapped in plastic?
