Scam business. THey'll start charging you for no reason. When you submit a request to cancel they conveniently lose the request so they can continue to charge you. Food tastes terrible also.

Absolutely unacceptable! charged $151.79 for an order I DID NOT place! I logged into an OLD Marley Spoon account simply to browse their current meals. I did not select meals, place an order, check out or knowingly reactivate or confirm a subscription. I only discovered something was wrong when my bank notified me that Marley Spoon had charged… Read more

$151.79 to my card.

I DID NOT PLACE OR AUTHORISE THIS ORDER.

I've now had to dispute the transaction and cancel my card. I have to wait for a replacement and contact every organisation with recurring payments linked to it to update my card details.

The unexpected charge has also resulted in overdrawn fees. With the current cost of living, I manage my money carefully, and an unauthorised $151.79 charge has real consequences.

I immediately cancelled the subscription and contacted Marley Spoon. I've since discovered other many other customers reporting the same experiences involving login of old accounts and unexpected charges.

Logging into an old account to browse should NOT result in money being taken from your card for an order you never knowingly placed to an old address you haven't lived at gor several years!

This has cost me money, disrupted my essential payments, left me without a physical bank card and created a huge amount of unnecessary stress and hours of work.

I would strongly advise anyone with an old Marley Spoon account and stored payment details BE AWARE!

o stars by far the worst company i have had to deal with. I paused my account till end SEPT to review if this was the right option for me as the food was not suitable, as I don't eat seafood. I got an email conf that the account was paused however they still a week later prepared an order charged me for it. I only found out when it was to late as… Read more

reciedved an sms last night saying get ready for your first box tomorrow then logged in to my email and saw that they had sent stuff saying they were preparing the box. The account was paused 16th Aug until late sept. I complained to them today and she had the hide to tell me that i puit the order in. I asked for proof and she could not give to me. I said why would i order 3 seafood dishes when i already told you i dont eat seafood. she said wont refund me because i ordered it. I didnt. She then asked had i logged onto my account trying to insinuate because i logged into the app and caused this to happen i said of course i did i said i was going to review if this was right for us which i did decided it wasnt and then terminated the account that week and deleted the app. in mean time not knowing already charged me. do not give them your credit card they are scammers and refuse to refund my money. considering other complaints the same I will be going to DFT, ACCC and name and shame sm. These are the stories A current affair love

Fruit box is a joke! They offered me $5 to refund both boxes which were $50. Rockmelons were 19c at my local fruit store recently. I tried to cancel but was too late for the second box. Show details

Never had an issue with the meat, but the quality of the vegetables is poor, you'd be lucky to get three days out of the vegetables before they spoil. Most of the time the vegetables are substandard on delivery, speaking of which, their delivery is also appalling. From front gates being left open to the box being left just on the inside of the… Read more

Logged into my old account to check out the recipes, never confirmed and suddenly recived a box that I would never have ordered (wrong day, wrong recipes, wrong number of people). Apparently they auto-enrol you as soon as you enter payment details, but you need to enter details to see the recipes. It was also ridiculously expensive for the three… Read more

My first box missed all the major ingredients in the recipes & missed 5 ready meals I ordered. Customer service offered a credit to my account but I explained as I was unhappy I didn’t want that but a refund. They refunded half of my money, but then after I answered a survey emailed to me and explained my situation they ended up refunding my total… Read more

Ordered for Monday, paid and received confirmation on the Saturday that order was due Monday. Monday comes and no food arrives that i was counting on for dinner for my family. Log into my account and the day has changed to Wednesday with no communication. Talk to customer support and no help at all. Show details

Follow-up  · Wednesday food came, but no refund or compensation just a very unhelpful customer service representative that said it wasn't their fault.

Follow-up  · Delivery experience was great. The access to my property isn’t straightforward and they did a good job at finding the right house, except maybe once. I contacted customer service about it just to let them know to be careful, and without me asking for anything they gave me a $10 discount on my next order. I’d remove ingredients I don’t like in… Read more

Not worth the stress of tracking your money and meals really. I wanted to find a quality meal service that took the stress out of the daily dinner fight. For the first few weeks deliveries and quality was great, then everything started becoming a… Read more

problem. I can handle a lot as long as I can avoid needing to run around shopping centres getting everything I need for the fortnight. Vegetable quality is below standard after three days most of your vege will be not worth using, bruised enough to make you question how packing happens and whether the local soccer team is handling that task. Hunting around in your delivery box to try and find that elusive sauce or seasoning packet only to realise it's not in there when it's crucial to that specific recipe is frustrating. Waiting for your delivery to arrive after the first few times it gets thrown at your door or left somewhere else at a different address is an anxiety heavy, emotionally fraught experience. Worst of all is walking out to get your box and finding it has been thrown, yes literally thrown because HDS driver of choice is having a bad day, or they can't work out how to drive down a driveway so they either drop your delivery on the road or mark it as addressed incorrectly and you end up with nothing. As a final salvo in helping you decide if this meal delivery kit is worth the price, stress or however you determine value I get my meal kit Saturday morning every week I am expected to pay for it Tuesday every week and that's when they don't grab the money on Sunday or Monday.

Follow-up  · The last two boxes I ordered should have arrived on Saturday morning early one arrived Tuesday afternoon. No clue about storage in the interim and the second larger box for the rest of the family, well that is still a mystery. No refund no apologies simply nothing. Hundreds of dollars just disappeared. Do not recommend

So far so good. I had done HelloFresh for over a year, and stopped about 8 months ago due to the extremely poor quality of vegetables, and meat that goes off within 2-3 days of arriving, amongst countless other things (I've left a very detailed review for them!). I missed the convenience of not having to think of what to cook for dinner, and… Read more

decided to try Marley Spoon.

My first Marley Spoon delivery arrived today (29/06/26) and the vegetable quality is phenomenal. All ingredients are there, and the meat (specifically salmon) spoils in 9 days from delivery, as opposed to the salmon from HelloFresh which you'd be lucky to get 3 days out of. I know this is just the first delivery, and from experience with HelloFresh, it took about a month for the quality to start going downhill. So I will update this review in time! (No news is good news!)

The only thing I'd say HelloFresh wins in is the variety. HelloFresh has a much bigger menu. I also was a little disappointed that Marley Spoon charged extra per meal for a basic salmon dish (literally just salmon, potatoes, and some green veg), whereas HelloFresh includes salmon as part of their standard meals.

I’ve been using both HelloFresh and Marley Spoon, and they both deliver great quality meals with fresh ingredients and clear instructions. But there are some differences worth noting. Marley Spoon stands out for transparency: you’ll often see recognizable brand names on ingredients like meat—just like what you’d find at the supermarket—so you know… Read more

exactly what you’re cooking. HelloFresh, on the other hand, doesn’t always show the brand, but it excels in convenience. HelloFresh consistently provides pre-prepped items—like pre-grated cheese or ready-to-bake garlic bread—which makes the cooking process faster and smoother. Plus, HelloFresh tends to offer a broader variety in its menu, which keeps things interesting. Another big plus with Marley Spoon is their clarity upfront on what you need to have at home, like butter or milk—so you’re never caught off guard mid-recipe. Overall, if you want speed and ease, HelloFresh might be your pick. If you prefer seeing familiar brands and knowing exactly what’s in your box, Marley Spoon wins. Both are great—just depends on what you value more in your cooking experience!

Too expensive and don't own their mistakes. Ordered enough meals/food for 7 nights, 3 of which were ready meals, to make delivery worth it you would at least need a weeks worth. Received my order and only got the 3 ready meals, didn't receive the other food just completely not in the box. Rang up, no apology no care that food was missed,… Read more

offered no solutions like redelivery and refunded the missed meals but wouldn't refund the delivery fee as I did get "a" delivery just not the one I paid for. It means I paid $54 for 3 microwave meals. I would have been better off spending $54 on door dash and having fresh food delivered. Don't recommend, it's just not a good financial move if they aren't actually delivering the promised meals

Regular mistakes, mouldy ingredients received, and inconsistent delivery times. Had an entire meal that was paid for left out of the delivery and instead of providing a refund or credit for the full meal (for 4 people) that was missing tried to offer a $15 credit to compensate. Customer service take several days to respond. Incompetent business with average recipes. Show details

Used to be a really good service. Recently, the number of mistakes in terms of getting the wrong ingredients, or receiving mouldy ingredients has increased a lot. Their feedback section is all just operated by a bot, and they make it really hard to get in touch with a real person to get refunded appropriately It's a real shame because they have a good selection of vegetarian and pescetarian options. Show details

Hate the new updates. Without any warning they have stopped sending meals in individual bags. I absolutely loved that they did that. The feeling of being able to empty that bag and know that everything was there was the best part of their service. I chose Marley Spoon above other meal delivery services because 1) they packed the meals in… Read more

individual bags 2) they always had all the ingredients and I never had to follow up with them about missed items. And I'm pretty sure that 2 was actually because of 1. Because all the other meal delivery services I have had problems with. So disappointed.

It took me ages to pack all of it into my fridge today. I have no idea where anything is and it's so confusing trying to work out what each meal needs because they have all this 2P, 4P, 6P nonsense on the recipe cards now.

I'm glad I kept all the recipe cards because now I'll just buy it myself from the supermarket. If I'm going to he sorting out all my own ingredients I want to at least be doing it cheaply.

I did not create an order, having stupidly given my card details to view the menu, I closed out of it. Not for me. It was more work than standard cooking. Down to having to make gravy from scratch!! If you’re getting this service to make things easier and save time, personally I think it’s the wrong service.

Beware of unfair trading practices and deceptive website tactics. I was unknowingly resubscribed and charged for a box that was sent to an address I lived at 5 years ago. Marley Spoon refused to refund me for unsolicited goods as per Australian Consumer Law. They deny any culpability on their end. Stay away!
