Works great but not designed to last. The swivel cable is supposed to untangle, but I found it tangles badly after every use. So swivel is useless, and if the pool cleaner was smart, it should be able to avoid rotating in the same direction until it tangles. So not smart at all. At 3 years old, it stopped working. I found the brushes were worn… Read more

out, so I repaired. I expected it should be brushless, so I was most disappointed that it has brushes. A year later, it stopped working again. This time the shaft seal leaked water into the motor, so water damage through all electrics. The cable is badly perished with blue flakes owing off when touched. I could repair it now, but I am thinking it is likely not worth it.

expensive not reliable cable tangles to the point of self destruction – I purchased a DOLPHIN S300i as part of our pool package and received the unit December 2020, after spending hours untangling the power cable every time i used it, the cable failed 1 month out of warranty my local agent had to fight to get a new cable $200 from Maytronics and it still cost me $50.00 to have it fitted, 3 months down the track the… Read more

unit stopped working completely so I took it back to my very helpful local agent and he explained that the motor had gotten moisture in it ?? So we went for the cheapest option replace the seals another $160.00 spent. I took the unit home to find that it still didn't work in the pool even though when tested at the agent it did. I took it back this time a new motor was required $695.00 plus fitting :( When i complained toe Matronics they were so generous (SARCASM) they offered to pay for half of the new motor but no freight or fitting?? So I have paid $2450.00 for a product that hasn't even lasted 2 and half years and that is the best they can offer. What happened to high priced reputable products lasting more than a couple of years :(

This is perfect! Can't live without it – I have owned a Dolphin S300i for over 12 months and, if I said this was a good machine, I'd by lying - this machine is absolutely brilliant. I am amazed at how efficiently it works. It does the bottom and sides - eeverypart of the pool. It's very well made with quality materials; easy to clean filter basket. It's so good, sometimes I just have to stop and watch it run around the pool. Show details ·  1

Very grateful for this robot pool cleaner – I have a very large deep pool on a windy ocean cliff surrounded by rainforest. Leaves often covering bottom of my pool. Inbuilt filter hoses too difficult to set up. I am a 77 year old widow. This robot is so easy for me to lift up and place in and out of the pool. It costs more then the other Dolphins, but it is worth it. Light weight and basket… Read more ·  1

easy to clean. I do not use the app feature, so can not comment on its reliability. This robot works perfectly with its own intelligence. I just press the “on” button and it knows where to go to clean the whole pool. I put it in my pool about 3 times a week. For the first time in 20 years my pool is easy to clean! And it picks up all the leaves and scrubs my concrete pool at the same time. I give this Dolphin robot 5 stars.

High price does not mean quality – I purchased my Dolphin S-Series S300i pool cleaner on 31-Oct-2015; I decided to buy this pool cleaner after few weeks of research and comparing to other pool cleaners. I even tried to convince my neighbour to buy one but he decided to buy a cheaper cleaner which has been working with no problem ever since. The cleaner was 2-3 times more expensive… Read more

of some other cleaners, but I was under impression I was buying a superior cleaner or as you claim in your company values “Exceptional Product”.

“Advance to a new pool cleaning experience with this top-of the-line robot that brings even more ease and freedom to the advanced capabilities of Dolphin S robots. Control your Dolphin S 300i through the state-of-the-art multi-function power supply or use the MyDolphin TM app on your smartphone or tablet to set up cleaning programs and control the robot remotely, including manual navigation. The blinking LED on the robot indicates the active mode.”

I started having problem with it after the 2 1/2 years; and finally its motor had to be replaced on 23-Oct-2018 ($$$). I knew that product had a 24 months warranty but buying a quality product and using it few times a month (and kept in storage away from sun and water) in a non-commercial environment you should expect to last much longer. It is like buying an expensive Mercedes Benz with 3 year warranty but needing to change the engine after four years!

Once again, I started having problem with the cleaner again (worked for few minutes then stopped) and took it to our local dealer. The machine had started to work but unable to connect to my iPhone and I had to return it. He told me it probably needed a new motor again!

If you do care about your customer’s service and standing by your products, you need to do better to rectify faulty products before the customers reach to the boiling points.

I sent the above info to their service manager, customer service manager and other high level from Maytronics and chase them for WEEKS to get back to me; at the end, the Tech Manager said “Have xxx pool shop quote for the necessary parts to get it working and if they cannot have them send it to Brisbane for quote”.

Followed by the customer care telling me as a GOODWILL (sic) offered me to buy another $3000 product and they would give me one year extra warranty!!! If the product are so good and reliable why would I need another year warranty???

Please note I do not normally review or comment on products

A substandard product with poor client support and a warranty that is not honored – Just for those who are thinking of spending $2k plus with Maytronics. Think again! I purchased a Maytronics S300i robotic cleaner just over two years ago. It's been back to the factory five times for repair during this "warranty" period. Last time the repair bill was $350.00. I'm not sure how a warranty works when the items that wear out as a… Read more

result of its use are not covered by the warranty. The control unit will only operate in 7 day segments. After 7 days the entire system turns itself off and ceases to operate. Maytronics is unable to fix this fault at all. Probably a product to be avoided. When it breaks down again I'll just put it into the Otto and buy a different brand. Don't say no one warned you!

NEGATIVES It does need more than one cycle to clean. Each cycle whether it’s just the floor or floor and walls is 2 hours and the pool is not completely clean. HOWEVER, because the machine is connected to your phone or tablet, you can just press a button wherever you are and command it to do multiple cycles and it’s pretty clean.

You can control it manually via a “virtual joystick” on the screen of your phone or tablet or by tilting your phone or tablet to pick something it missed but the responses are sooooooo delayed that the function is absolutely useless. Easier to get your pole and net.

Don’t care about the price if the machine lasts / is trouble free for a few years but if I strike troubles it would be difficult to swallow. So far so good one month in.

Waste of money - and a lot of money to waste! – I have owned my Dolphin 300 series for 3 years and have had no satisfaction with it at all. It really struggles with leaves, just "pushing" them around, and I always end up having to manually vac the pool, which… Read more

defeats the purpose of buying a Dolphin in the first place. As for the app interface - a disaster. I just keep getting the "oops, something went wrong" message when I try to access any of the programs other than turning the thing on. It will not allow me to select any of the cleaning modes. Also, when I set the cleaner to go on everyday at the same time, it does it for one or two days, then switches itself off. Also, the cord is forever becoming wound up and stops the cleaner from accessing the whole pool. For a machine that cost me over $2000 I have nothing but buyers remorse. Definitely a waste of my money and time. It does a worse job than a $200 suction cleaner. Very unhappy.

Great designed unit with quality to match! – I had JB Pool construction build my in ground pool and spa. The Maytronics range Jamie believed was at the forefront of the Robotic pool cleaner market and rightly so. I chose the s300i over the m400 for 2 main reasons, 1. App wifi connectivity 2. Design of the large filter/Catchment basket I have a large amount of leaves and dust on my acreage property and the 300i takes care of it with ease! Great choice all round! Show details ·  1

Disappointing – Had it a month and pretty disappointed with it. It is pretty random how it goes around the pool. There are times when it just goes backwood and then forward, in half a meter. Great Cleaner but needs a few improvements – I have had this S300i for just on three years now. cleans the pool well, the two modes Fast (one hour) cleans the floor only and long (three hours) floor and walls is a great option and works well. Does not clean the steps but dont think any cleaner does despite what the rep says. This unit is super easy and fast to clean, the filter box lifts out… Read more ·  1

with its own handle is fast and easy to hose out, could not be easier, looked at many and this was one of the few that would filter fine dust without needing a bag (that looks way too hard and time consuming to clean) but has large catchment for leaves and nuts. The unit is light to carry (much lighter than most of the good cleaners) and even when in water just hold it against the side of the pool and let the water run out before lifting out. it takes about two minutes to put in and about 5 min to take out, clean put on the caddy and put away its it really that quick and easy. The app is crap, who wants to manually drive it anyway, bought this to clean the pool, not me to drive it clean, but controlling it is average at best - do not buy it for this option. There are two design faults i believe. first is getting at the impeller is difficult, and if you have anyone in your pool with long hair (hair sheds) it gets wrapped around the pump impeller and reduces the water flow and ability to clean. this would be a problem with all cleaners but the S300i makes it difficult to fix, first you need to remove a cover with two screws, but maytronics took a shortcut where the cable is anchored to the unit, its part of this cover and is fiddly to remove and reattach this cover, two further fittings are easy to remove and then get at the impeller, other models i have seen have one screw holding a cover and you are done. Maytronics could and should fix this with little change to the design. The second problem is the rubber flap at the front to let the water out when finished seems to get stiffer as the unit gets older and i think it no longer seals properly and some water is sucked in there instead of through the filter cartridge. this causes two problems, reduced suction (cleaning) through the filter cartridge and distributes the dirt past the filter and around the pool to resettle on the bottom. i have glued the middle of the flap shut and fixed the problem but it should be part of the design. The unit stopped working recently one year out of warranty, I disassembled the drive and pump unit and found a small amount of water and a lot of condensation, the desiccant bag was soaked. So I cleaned and dried everything, used contact cleaner on the circuit board and dried the desiccant bag in the oven, (at a low temp) unit is now working again. it would seem that after two years (the warranty) the desiccant bag is no longer able to absorb the moisture and it starts to build up in the housing. not sure what the answer to this is and suspect all cleaners would suffer this, maybe it could be a service recommendation, in future i will disassemble after warranty for any unit i own. Im sure the moisture in the motor housing will have reduced the life on the unit. If you attempt this ensure all seals and surfaces are carefully cleaned and make sure you do not stretch the O-rings. use plenty of silicone pool grease/lube when reassembling. Apparently there are shops out there that can replace individual components on these which could also be an option if they fail. After all that i would still recommend this unit as it does what it want it to and for the reasons I chose this cleaner over many others - filters fine dirt and silt, fast and easy to clean, light and compact.

rinse filters every time. I also rinse whole machine given my pool is salt based. As to leaves it can suck up quite a few in its collection system due to the suction, of course if you get a lot of leaves you can pick some up with scoop to makes easier. It has a 2 year guarantee btw.

I looked at a few at home show and while many promise to work if you get problems backup is important and not all are easy or amenable when it gets to that situation.

Spotless pool, great investment – I was looking at getting a robot for the pool for quite some time. unit since November, and i couldn't be happier.

I've sat down with a beer on more than one occasion, just to watch the little guy race around the pool.

The filters are easy to clean, and this one is a lot lighter than the other ones i was shown in the store. The timers are easy to set, and the phone app means i can change the timers and even turn the unit on from the livingroom! The instructions were easy to understand, even if they were a little simple, and the whole thing was in the pool and working in about 10 mins, so it's very easy. The kids named it Toby after our old neighbour's dog, so it's even got a name.

I followed the poolshop's advice, don't watch it clean the first time, becuase it's meant to be learning the pool, and it looked very dumb the first clean. But once it learned the pool it started zooming around like a champ.

Its expensive, but totally worth it. 5 stars.
