McLeay and Sons Carpet

I wanted to buy a coloured carpet. Mcleay’s was the only place I went to that had carpets that weren’t shades of grey, brown or cream. I also wanted a pet friendly carpet. It has passed that test amazingly. I have removed pet vomit, red wine and black printer ink. All have come off with no sign of where they were. Amazing. Thank you so much. Show details ·  1

Very professional from beginning to end – I had dealing with Manfred from the Frewville store. There is nothing that he doesnt know about floor coverings. We visited the store and made a few selections. Two days later he visited on time :) with our selected samples. Cheap, good quality products – Very easy to deal with, competitive pricing, way cheaper than other carpet installation shops. Provided good advice for what we needed in our property and installation was very quick. Have purchased from them multiple times for multiple properties.

Interesting, because the morning after the work was completed I contacted the office to speak to my contact management representative with a view to an inspection of my concerns.

This attempt was only to be met with a senior manager whom I had never met, who was dismissive and aggressive in his response that I should query the company whatsoever.

His comments included: -I should have expected some damage to walls as the underside of carpets are course and, -Some damage to the skirting boards may occur due to the tools used.

No such views were conveyed to me at any stage of the quote process.

That conversation was left on the basis my contact representative would return my call. On three more occasions I left messages without hearing anything from management.

I can only assume that the aggressive senior manager instructed his staff to ignore my contact.

So much for McLeay & Sons Carpets commitment to the clients expectations which is clearly of no concern to management, once you have paid the account.

Fantastic Staff and very helpful – Paul from Frewville store is so very helpful. Steered me towards nylon as it performs better than wool and has a stain guarantee. It is a family run business of nearly 100 years. My carpet was installed without a hiccup and the layers were great and even vacuumed on completion. Couldn’t ask for more.

No carpets come with guarantee – Having purchased many "Off cuts" from McLeay Bulk Store and also from the role it was with great disappointment that when laying a quality off cut of wool carpet (and not that cheap) that within 12 months the carpet was flat and lifeless. approached the manager he told us that none of the off cuts (regardless of make or price) have a warranty. He also mentioned that the area was affected because "you walked on it". I thought he was joking but no. Apparently walking on carpet twice a day is seen as "heavy traffic". heaven help us if it were placed in a family room. So there was nothing he would do even though they agreed it was "not great". So be warned a sham company who cares little for their customers.
