Our 10yo cavalier king Charles spaniel loves this food and after trying all the expensive brands to reduce his ear infections, this one has saved us. He has been eating this for about 4 years now and never an issue. Our vet said he is in top shape, including his teeth which I have put down to his diet (we only add in fresh veggies and occasional fruit). Show details

DON'T BUY! – Why are Meals for Mutts allowed to continue Operating! Their Dog food made my dogs Very Sick along with many other Pet Owner's. They have No Integrity & Keep getting away with producing Rubbish Pet Food at Premium Prices because the Industry is Unregulated. DON'T BUY!! Show details

Company with no integrity – I have been buying their dog food of various flavours for over 4 years and usually buy in bags of 4 to save time and money. The bags were over $130 each for the 20kg variety. After the report of mould in their food, I actually got one of those bags which had an expiry date of late 2024. I alerted them to this and got the run around about showing… Read more
purchase receipt even after I took a photo of the front and back of the bag and it's contents. I admit I couldn't find the actual receipt from the place I brought it from online but had one which I sent to them showing a previous purchase but of course this wasn't enough for them to send me out a replacement bag or refund me for one bag after I have brought at least 30 of them. A company that is worried about 1 bag which probably cost them less than 50% for what I paid for it is not one I want to ever deal with again. They can keep their one bag and lose my business because it somehow makes sense to them to not retain customer loyalty. All the best for those who want to deal with a company of little to no integrity. I won't get my one replacement bag from them and that's ok because what I was really after was principle/integrity and at least I now know it's definitely not at MFM Dog Foods.
Massive recall of mouldy food Nov 2023! Do not touch it! – M 4 M was great until the brilliant nutritionist left and formed his own company Lifewise Pet Food. Do not touch Meal for Mutts Salmon as it is currently being recalled from mould growing in new bags of food! Google or nine news covered the story. Show details
A massive fall from grace! – I have been a loyal customer of Meals for Mutts for the past 7 years but I am deeply disappointed with the recent decline in product quality and the exorbitant price of their products. What was once a brand I trusted and believed to be the best available has now become a source of frustration and concern. Despite issuing a recall, the sheer number… Read more
of issues with the food they have been producing and supplying for our pets' consumption remains a significant concern.
One of the most troubling aspects of this situation is the company's dishonesty regarding the changes in their manufacturing process. Meals for Mutts made claims about maintaining the same high quality and standards after relocating their manufacturing location but this has proven to be far from the truth. The recent decline in product quality and the negative effects on our pets' health indicate a significant deviation from their previous standards this company once maintained.
The company's decision to issue a recall is a step in the right direction but it does not rectify the magnitude of the issues with their food. A recall should be seen as a last resort and the fact that it was necessary raises questions about the company's commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of our pets. It is concerning that they allowed such a large number of subpar products to reach the market before taking action.
Furthermore, the recall does not address the underlying problems with Meals for Mutts' manufacturing process. It is crucial for a pet food brand to have rigorous quality control measures in place to prevent such issues from occurring in the first place. The fact that they failed to do so raises doubts about their commitment to producing safe and healthy food for our beloved pets.
My experience with Meals for Mutts has been marred by their deceptive claims and insufficient recall. The company's dishonesty regarding the changes in their manufacturing process, coupled with the numerous issues with their food, has left me deeply disappointed. A recall is not enough to rectify the harm caused to our pets' health and the breach of trust that has occurred. As consumers, we rely on pet food brands to prioritise the well-being of our pets and to be transparent and accountable when issues arise. Unfortunately, Meals for Mutts has failed to meet these expectations and I cannot recommend their products with confidence anymore.
Finally a food for my sensitive dog!! – My young Bloodhound has suffered with food sensitivities and skin irritations since she was a tiny pup. Now she is nearly 1, and eating Adult Salmon and Sardine she finally has clear skin and ears, a beautiful glossy coat, no itchies, and no odour! Thank you Meals for Mutts! Show details
Not great – Changed to this grain free product because of the good reviews. Unfortunately it was one of the worst experience for my German Shepherd. Constant itching, so much so he was bitting of his fur because of the itch. Definitely not giving it anymore. Show details
Unfortunately I must add to the negative reviews – I gave 1/6 cup of this product to my two mini poodles, which are protein sensitive to beef, chicken and kangaroo, for about one week. My boy was very constipated (at first), eating grass galore, had blood stained mucusy faeces, gas and then chronic diarrhoea. We didn’t put it down to the biscuits, at first because he is fine with seafood but… Read more
when our girl shat blood stained mucus we turned our focus to these biscuits and read all the other negative reviews. We ceased the biscuits immediately and one day later both dogs were back to normal. So, if you have a dog with a sensitive stomach these biscuits shouldn’t be for you.
Great – It has real ingredients without fillers, is Aussie made and doesn't upset my dogs sensitive stomach. Would highly reccomend. Show details
WAS the only kibble my dog would eat! Now its made him horribly sick! – ***Edited December 2024! My dog has been on meals for mutts since he was about 1yrs old (now 6.5yrs old) and never had any issues. In fact I wrote a rave review about them 2yrs ago! It was the only kibble he would happily eat and we always combined it with SPD prime rolls. But since they changed production companies, the food has gone downhill. It… Read more
first started with itchy skin, we figured maybe the bag was old, however as there was a recall, stores weren't stocking MFM. We tried a few other brands with no success. When they finally ramped up production again, the new bag has caused an array of symptoms from refusing to eat, horribly constant gas, black tarry and/or mucus in stools and even bloody stools. We tried probiotics but nothing helped, I didnt know what was going on with him, I worried he was sick. AS he had been on MFM almost his whole life, I didn't think it could be the kibble. Then he went in for a routine dental appointment and he had a tooth extracted, the vet advised only soft food for 7 days and so we stopped giving him meals for mutts kibble and just kept him on his SPD Prime 100 rolls. Within two days his digestive symtpoms were gone! His poo's returned to normal and no more horrible gas. When I searched online and found so many people having the same issues with their pets who were on MFM, I knew immediately it was the kibble! We have now taken him off meals for mutts completely and he gets Prime 100 SPD rolls and SPD Air dried (topper) and he is so happy. He licks his bowl clean every meal and has no itching, no gas, poos are perfect again and he has so much energy! I am so saddened to think I had him on a food that was causing so much discomfort to him. Clearly the recipe and/or production process has changed and it is affecting the quality of the food. I will not buy MFM again or any other kibble.
Mastiff enjoys it and zero reactions – Ive read Heaps of poor reviews but I can honestly say our girl has been fine. She has 1kg of roo with a scoop of these biscuits and her stool is firm/normal and her weight is decent. She drinks more but that isn't a bad thing as with meat alone she hardly drank making mega strong wee! No issues here Show details

Endless poos & so much Gas – Unfortunately the salmon and sardine didn’t agree with my dachshund, he was pooping over 7times a day & he had so much gas we had to leave the room! We stopped feeding him it and he came back to normal! Just such a weird thing to happen! Unfortunately a bag going to waste Show details
Good quality food at a good price point – My little silky Terrier X Maltese has alopecia from seasonal allergies and I got him onto the salmon and sardine. His coat feels softer and I've seen him chewing his feet much less. His poop is also solid and clean. Great product. Show details
Do not buy MFM! – Do not buy! Our Mastiff has experienced vomiting every morning post eating at night and he has developed skin lumps. We changed his food and the vomiting and skin lumps went away. Definately don’t recommend, save your money and your dogs health. Show details
Good price for some critical ingredients included – One of the few products that covers the need for hypoallergenic management, Yucca/Rosemary, Grain free, Coconut and Turmeric and excluding specific meat protein (Assuming no hidden contents !! ). Having an Atopic dog makes food management difficult. While there are other brands that might be quite good or better, this one has been affordable and… Read more
for the last 6 months has not shown to cause any adverse effects. Hope it works out. Prices have been shooting up every 2 months so may not remain well priced for long.
Don’t waste your money! – First night of giving it to our golden retrievers we woke up to find diarrhoea everywhere, we weren’t sure what caused it so continued giving them mfm only to realise every time they ate it they would get diarrhoea! The next meal we gave them different dog food and the diarrhoea stopped! We contacted the company after reading similar reviews and… Read more
simply asked what could have caused this reaction and we never got a response! Waste of $120 and our poor dogs stomachs.
Unhappy – Purchased the sardine and Salmon and our Beagle who eats everything, will not touch it not even one cube , unhappy
I was able to take my dog off a prescription diet – I was attracted to the grain free meals for mutts because it made for dogs with sensitivities. My male was put in a prescription diet after being diagnosed as having a sensitive stomach. I brought it home, and the ingredients were sub-par... especially for the price. I did some research, and this brand kept coming up. I bought a small bag to trial… Read more
my dogs on, and I haven’t looked back! My male is so much happier and healthier, and my female has gone from not being too motivated by any biscuits, to asking me for her food! Their stools are (much) smaller, and have next to no smell. Their coats are amazing, and they’re both so happy. I worked out that because they don’t need as many biscuits to get their calorific intake and required nutrients, these are about the same price as store bought brands, meal for meal. Super happy, and highly recommend!
