Great

I am very happy with the double swing Maxi. I used it for my first child and rebought for my second. The usb charging is a great upgrade. I use it mostly at home in the same area so I cant comment about it being portable.

Purchased in at Chemist Warehouse for $308.

Disappointing

Initially loved this pump- so easy to use and comfortable but it has stopped working after minimal use and when I called customer service all they could offer was to try new connectors which I already had and didn’t fix the issue ( lack of suction). For something that is not cheap I would have expected it to last for much longer than a couple of weeks of use. Very disappointing

Having issues.

I’ve used the pump a few times and it keeps now turning off while I pump. I keep having to turn it back on.

I love it!

I used the Medela symphony at the hospital which is why I bought this one.
Whilst the suction isn’t as strong at the hospital pump which needs to be plugged in to use… it was perfect for me and so easy during the night to grab and use in bed.

I used it through one pregnancy and my sister is using it now. The battery has lasted fine. I bought mine baby bunting in Australia

Not good for double pumping

This pump is fine if used on just one breast but if you’re thinking about double pumping don’t bother. This isn’t one that’s going to be of any use returning to work or regular pumping needs. More for casually building a freezer stash rather than a steady workhorse pump. Definitely not worth the price.

Good luck.

My partner borrowed a pump from my sister and used it for 6 weeks then the suction failed and had to use it as a single pump until it completely failed. Replaced with a new one with the built-in battery which is great for hands free the battery will last 2-3 pumps on full charge but now the suction is failing on this one as well. Yes, we have tried everything including watching the amazing videos online to no avail. This is not a pump for exclusive pumping as it just does not last. I will take it back tomorrow to see what the shop can do as it's too expensive to keep replacing.

Just buy formula instead!

I bought this breast pump to feed my premature baby. It was the worst purchase I’d ever bought. For starters the suction when using it as a double pump it was so poor my dyson vacuum cleaner would have done a better job. Secondly I’d have to bend over at a 45 degree angle just so the milk would not spill out the sides. This hurt after having an epidural. 3rd I was told to take it back to the store of purchase from customer service. That would have been fine if I was able to drive after having a Caesarian section. In the end I just gave up!

Purchased at Chemist Warehouse for $299.

Definitely what I needed

Comfortable and easy to use although, the battery life is poor. It is averaging out to take 20% each pumping session which to me seems not worth the money I paid for it. Also, I cannot find spare parts to buy for it anywhere. Other than that, I love it.

Save your money

Baby was born at 26 weeks, so I needed a good pump, as I exclusively pumped for 16 weeks before baby came home, every 3 hours.
Several times a day, often at 3am when I was tiredest, the pump would catch all the milk in the head of pump, not altering or to drop into bottle. Upon separating pump from bottle, all the milk would spoil out onto bed sheets.
Contacted medela and was sent a replacement part, but problem still occurred. After 3 weeks, I'd had enough and purchased an Ardo.

Purchased in for $450.

Excellent!

The pump works well and is easy to use. I love that all the parts are separate and easily washable and sterilised. Have used this pump for 2 babies over the last 7 years and its still going strong. Accessories are easy to buy and with adaptors you can express directly into any brand bottle or milk storage container. Definitely would recommend!

If I could give it zero stars I would

This pump is a complete waste of money. I wish I had of read more reviews before purchasing. I just used this pump for 10 minutes and got absolutely no expressed milk out. Used my spectra s2 straight after and got 50ml. I wanted to something that was portable and hands free so I decided to get this product while it is small and portable it doesn’t work. So that I’ve opened and used it I doubt I’ll be able to return it. Don’t waste your time or money.

Hi,
I have a 3 years old swing maxi double pump. I'm about to need it again and would like to get new parts but everywhere is out of stock. One distributor suggested I purchase swing maxi flex parts but can't confirm whether these are compatible with the old swing maxi pump.
Could you please confirm whether the tubing and connectors for the swing maxi flex are compatible with the swing maxi pump old model?
I've tried calling medela several times but the call always gets disconnected at the 5 minutes mark.

Thanks

Medela
Medela ·

Hi Laura,

Apologies for our slow reply, and that you’re having difficulties getting through to our Customer Service Team. Unfortunately, the parts are no longer available. We can suggest upgrading to the Swing Maxi Flex connector.

You will need to purchase
- 101041898 (PersonalFit Flex™ Connector (pack of 2),
- 101041914 (Swing Maxi & Freestyle Flex™ Tubing), or 101034003 (Swing Maxi Flex™ tubing)
- A Personalfit Flex breast shield S, M ,L & XL 101041851/2/3/4 if you need a new shield, although the ones you have are compatible.

All are available on our Webstore at www.medelastore.com.au

If you prefer to call customer service and still have trouble getting through on 1800 787 345, email contact.au@medela.com with your details, and they will be in contact.

Kind regards,

Liz at Medela.

Hi. I am in Dubai and I have a medela maxi swing which is 5 years old. I need new spare parts which are currently not available. Is there any other model spare parts which i can use?

Medela
Medela ·

Hi Vaishali,

Thanks for asking! We do have spare parts you can use, the best thing to do would be to either call our customer services team directly on +61 (0) 3 9552 8600 and they will be able to tell you exactly what you need, unfortunately we only ship to Australia, so you will need to contact your local distributor for parts.

Thanks

Hi, I have Medela maxi flex double electric pump. Size of the flange that came with the pump was 24 mm. I didn’t know that there are different flange sizes available. Now I realised that my nipples are too big and they rub against the wall of flange and it hurts a lot. I just found that there are different size flanges available. How can I change the flange? If I want to use 27 mm flange, does it for the existing connector or do I have to buy a new connector too?

Hi Priyal, thank you for reaching out. We are sorry to hear that you are experiencing pain with the Medium size breast shield. You can purchase the size Large (27mm) from our webstore via the link below, or at your local Baby Bunting/ Chemist Warehouse. You do not need to purchase a new connector or any other accessories.
