Our business used Melbourne Cheap Movers for an office relocation within Melbourne. I was worried about downtime, but they planned everything properly and stuck to the schedule. Desks, chairs, computers and files were moved carefully and placed exactly where we needed them. The movers were respectful and worked efficiently without causing disruption. The move was completed in one day and we were back to work quickly.

I had a terrible experience with this moving company and would strongly advise others to avoid them. Despite repeatedly stressing that they couldn’t be more than one hour late due to the limited booking window for the building’s moving lift, they arrived 2.5 hours late. This caused significant complications and added completely unnecessary stress.

To make matters worse, they demanded full payment before unloading the truck and then overcharged me. When I contacted the call centre for support, the staff were rude, dismissive, and highly unprofessional.

Moving is already stressful enough. You don’t need a company adding to the chaos with poor service and unprofessional behaviour. Their hourly rate may look cheap at first, but because they work so slowly, you’ll end up paying far more than expected.

Avoid this company at all costs.

On time, efficient and friendly – I was moving out of the family home and into a 1 bedroom apartment on the first with no lift. It wasn't easy and I had a million boxes and the stairs to my apartment has a corner. They were absolutely fantastic, really friendly and just got the job done. The price was considerably cheaper than many other companies but I got a wonderful service. Highly recommend!

Very good – The movers were punctual. The move was really large - filled a large 10 ton truck. The whole move only took 51/2 hours to the next suburb. They did a good job, over all I was very happy however one drawer was broken from a chest of drawers.

contractors for their services. On the day of my move, their team arrived almost an hour late, thereby setting the stage for the ensuing chaos. Once the truck was loaded from my townhouse, they proceeded to my new apartment.

The true horror began upon unloading. The team informed me that my couches were 'too heavy' for them, suggesting that I scrounge up an additional 2-4 people to help with the stairs (the couches wouldn't fit in the elevator). When I rightfully reminded them of the extra $50 stairs charge stipulated in our contract, I was met with a dismissive call from an MCM office representative, who haughtily stated that the 'boys' couldn't be forced into tasks they didn't want to undertake. My options? Either find additional help or leave my couches stranded downstairs.

To add insult to injury, they had the audacity to demand upfront payment for an uncompleted job. When I stood my ground, they retaliated by holding my belongings hostage, sitting in their truck for an hour. Consequently, I was left with no choice but to call in three additional helpers to finish their job, a job I had already paid them for! Moreover, they resorted to the deplorable tactic of intimidating me with the potential drive-off with my possessions. In an outright display of coercion, they suggested that I would be obliged to pay them an extra sum just to secure the safe return of my own items back to my home.

Their shameless behaviour didn't stop there. They demanded payment for their lunch break, numerous leisure breaks, and even their insolent downtime in the truck. While the contractors gleefully blamed the company for their abhorrent service, MCM was more than eager to deflect the blame onto their so-called 'contractors'.

This, my friends, is the absolute reality of dealing with MCM Removals: a perfect storm of incompetence, lack of responsibility, and an utter disregard for basic customer service. I implore you to think twice before entrusting them with your moving needs, lest you want to live through a moving horror tale like mine.

Overcharged by $360, harassed and refused to refund – Charged me an extra hour $210, another $150 for hard access fee (which there was none), harassed me on the phone, demanded cash payment, then wouldn’t return my belongings, making my child terrified. abusing me on the phone. Absolutely abhorrent service. A 3bdrm apartment ground floor to ground floor move 12km apart (with everything well packed by my former Removalist father, and all boxes lined up by size) costed $1,840!!! Save your money and nerves. These people are dodgy. And I can’t even begin to describe the harassment and abuse that followed.
