Poor Quality and no customer service. Purchased a shower head and arm that had a lifetime warranty. In less than 18months the whole thing corroded and broke in several places. unless you pay for a qualified plumber to install the shower head and also get a certificate of compliance. An absolute joke. Who pays $350 for a plumber to install a shower head? The condition of the item had nothing to do with a plumber, it was poor quality. Dont waste your time!!

We have the black tapware from Methven, poor quality, hardly lasted a month, changed twice by them as it came under warranty, but it is continuing, time and money wasted

at no cost - not even shipping! No forms to fill, no process to go through other than a single phone call. Absolutely brilliant after-sales support, couldn't be happier. The part arrived a few days later and my shower is now literally as good as new again!

Extraordinary Service – Reported a fault with our kitchen sink mixer on Sunday (by EMail) and it was replaced on the following Wednesday. Given that I'm located in East Gippsland, I cannot imagine better service. For all of the 3 parties involved to be so efficient is truly extraordinary. Well done!

Methven Satin Jet Hi Rise Futura – Purchased is 2017 and recently noticed water spraying up the shower wall from a hole in the arm. I was reluctant to ring the company based on the reviews here thinking it was going to be a difficult process. Today phoned 1300 638 483. lifetime warranty on the showerheads. I figured out I only needed the o-rings, but they replaced the whole units.

3 years later - same problem with the replacemens: o-rings deteriorated and leaking. Same solution: new showerheads provided under warranty.

2 years later (2 years ago now), same problem again. But this time, no response. Suddenly it's like I don't exist. No reply to messages, and general customer support just responds with "nothing we can do, it's in warranty claim territory, not customer support."

Honestly, if they just sold the showers with 3 extra sets of 2 o-rings (which prob cost all of 10c each), then they'd solve nearly all their problems. I'd happily suggest this ... if they ever respond to criticism.

Leaks – My Satinjet started leaking - it is around 7 years old - which looks to be caused by the rubber seals inside the shower head degrading. I've tried contacting Methven but heard nothing from them.

No spares for current model tap – I have a Methven Gaston tap in satin chrome, purchased from Bunnings approx a year ago. The spray end has a damaged button (just got stuck one day). Tried to order a new one, got told no spares despite this being an in stock item at Bunnings. A $400 tap has no spares. The peice I am after is the vegie sprayer end. screw on of it can’t be replaced. Waste of money and they don’t back up their 15 year parts and labour guarantee. I have to now locate my receipt and look to lodge a vcat claim for full tap replacement and plumbing costs. To think I was happy to just buy the part.

Note: after publishing this and following p through Bunnings too, we were provided with a brand new tap, to make up for the lack of spares. I have increased the ratings as a result.

Methven warranty non existent – We bought a brand new unit off the plan with all Methven tap ware and shower heads. The plastic in the shower heads have deteriorated within 4 years. Methven don’t even bother to respond to emails regarding warranty.

Paint flakes off – We have methven black powder coated soap dishes, (in the shower and beside the bath), shower head, towel hooks & taps in our bathroom. The soap dishes from day 1 started flaking paint, the heavy black paint often sticks to the soap then ends up on our bodies. The taps are now flaking paint too. Other than that the other products look good, but I would expect better quality from this company.

Poor build quality and useless warranty – We purchased a newly renovated apartment with Methven Black taps. Within 2 years they were showing serious signs of wear and needed to be replaced. The Methven warranty is for 20 years but ONLY for the original purchaser. So they claim they can walk away from shoddy build quality. The Warranty should be transferable. A 20 year warranty is a joke… Read more

as most properties change hands well before then. I strongly recommend avoiding this brand and any other that doesn't allow a transferable warranty.

Two Satinjet shower heads failed within 3 years – We purchased a penthouse new. Two showers with Satinjet massage shower heads installed. First Satinjet started leaking around massage button and head. Second shower head did the same a year later. places but at least it lasted 5 years. The second original Satinjet was replaced recently with a cheap $40 shower head from Bunnings as we saw no value in buying a Satinjet for a lot of money when it will only last a few years.

No response from the company to emails as yet.

Edit 29 Nov 22 - Company called and said they would offer a replacement for both shower heads. Increased rating from 2 stars to 3 stars only because of good customer service but products are poor.

Shower holder broke, replaced under warranty – Installed the Methven Krome shower system airstream 3 as part of a new build. Less than 18 months and the sliding mechanism has failed and the plastic holder has snapped off. Took a little while for the company to respond but they replaced the unit with a new one.

Leaking tap – Bought a Methven kitchen mixer tap. Black. 6 months old. The aerator is poor, water bounces off the bottom of the sink. Rang the company. They said it was the aerator. leaking showerhead – showerhead a few years old started leaking....opened it up and found large round seal perished....thought it would be an easy fix with a replacement seal.....unable to buy seals....not good enough

Lifetime Warranty good luck – Under no circumstances buy any product from this company I have a Methven shower with a lifetime warranty covered by GWA Group they will not respond to emails they will not assist when you call them they just tell you the previous person you spoke to is in another state and they will get back to you which they never do I now have no other option… Read more

than to go to the ombudsman to get them to replace my shower with a LIFETIME WARRANTY WHICH THEY WILL DO ANYTHING NOT TO HONOUR

Diverter and warranty poor – Have to say no problems with shower and taps, but had a diverter installed for shower/bath. Went after less than 18 months and had have it replaced. Plumber came round to do it and tells me he will have to break a tile to do it....in a brand new renovation bathroom!! applies if your pressure is less than 500. No chance....got my regular plumber to do it and paid him, no broken tiles. I also got a pressure limiter installed as Methven told me they would not cover us for warranty with pressure above the 500 limit.

Unfortunately the diverter has now gone again less than 18 months later, even with the limiter.

Really not impressed the warranty sounds great but the products should be better quality than this.

I will update this review once I have dealt with the next warranty claim.

a text with a link to suggested plumbers! After paying $700 for the shower rail I then have to pay a few hundred dollars more to swap over the faulty part after only 2 months of use. Additionally they originally sent the replacement part to the wrong address. After I called them to find out where the part was they realised they had the wrong address. Fortunately everything else went well with our reno but won't use Methven again for future renovations.

Excellent customer care – Used kitchen mixer for 7 years before it started leaking. I must appreciate Methven warranty claim customer support. They were pretty proactive in organising a new mixer (got a better one from the last time) and an authorised plumber. I love my new kitchen mixer. I have been using Methven rain shower and bathroom mixers in all our bathrooms for over 10 years. Never had any complain. Highly recommended.

it had reduced by 150 it was still to high and he refused to do the job. When I questioned about the pressure being much lower on the first floor he was dismissive and argumentative.

Methven Waipori shower mixer leaking water – The warranty process was a bit slow but once chased part was shipped and local plumber attended. Plumber said could not replace part as water pressure was higher than recommended for Methven. a good warranty experience – Leaking methven blaze tap- 2 months in = leaking from handle...why a ceramic cartridge should leak after 2 months is another issue but....i rang, got a warranty claim number in 1 hour, got an email approving claim in 12 hours, received part by courier in 2 days, repair guy came next day...fixed. so one week problem solved. well done GWA —— others may have had problems but my experience in february 2021 ——i couldn’t be happier with them.

Excellent Kitchen mixer – We had a $500+ German kitchen sink mixer that after 5 years jammed and wouldn't swivel then came loose. Replaced it with a Methven at a 1/4 of the price and a much better tap. Professionally made and great design appearance. Absolutely love it! Easy to install and works like a dream

Shame, used to be quality product – Since the acquisition by GWA Group they no longer manufacture any product themselves, I used to purchase only their product. They did have great customer service, not any longer!
