Love the greaser and have 2. BUT can’t get any support or reply from Michael Blast for 6 months – No reply from Michael Blast. Even listed repairs can’t contact them. “stand on the pedals” effectively to pedal full-force on steep hills. But it’s an ebike, so you don’t need to do that.

Top speed without changing settings is 20 MPH. I stand 5’ 7” and the height is OK. Maybe not so much if a few inches shorter.

Battery range: I took it for a multi-day camping tour in the San Juan Islands. Total payload, panniers and rider: 220 lbs. I was stingy with power, staying at power level 2 or below, except as needed to conquer hills. I always cut the power on downhills. Moderately hilly terrain: battery range 41 miles. Flatter terrain, range 48 miles. These are calculated ranges based on observing the battery meter and odometer. I never ran the battery out, so the actual range might be more, or less. Power level 5 chews up battery power. The headlamp also uses a surprising amount of juice. Keep it off for long distance riding.

The battery is located within the fairing (the "gas tank”). You charge it in place, using a port under the fairing, and an external power supply box (comes with the bike). To get at the battery if needed, you un-screw three screws with an Allen wrench. Removing the fairings is easy. Reinstalling them is frustrating, because you need to line-up the screws and nuts: a fussy business. So leave the battery in, as designed, for charging. This wasn’t a problem at most campsites I went to. There was always a shower building/outbuilding that had power I could tap into. A 10 foot, or shorter, extension cord is handy if you are camping.

Don’t inflate the tires more than 40 PSI. When I repaired a flat, the tire/tube separated from the rim at exactly 40PSI, which is the minimum pressure specified on the tire! Had to get the rim re-trued. My bike repair guy says these fat tires are fine at 20-35 PSI no matter what the tires say, and they came from factory at about 20 PSI anyway.

Why not 5 out of 5? I’m a nitpicker. Minor things: 1) Front fender slightly misaligned. 2) In 1st gear the chain touches the rear wheel, leaving a grease mark. Nothing major. Will get adjusted.

Technical: The pedal assist system is on point and responsive. The added throttle is very convenient especially during times that pedaling would be awkward or difficult. The 250W motor is apt for daily use and sucks up just enough juice for the battery to last me 3 back and forth commutes which adds up to about 42km. The frame is very sturdy and surprisingly light for the design. The wheel thickness makes sense aesthetically as well as functionally with Philippine roads having a good share of potholes.

Customer Service: Customer service is superb. I had problems with either the BMS, trip computer or ECU. Since it was difficult to troubleshoot as my bike is offshore, the company opted to send me all three parts free of charge. They are very responsive to questions and requests.

out and I ride it every day. The big headlight casts good light a fair distance, if i had one complaint it would be that there is no tail light. I am now Canadian winter testing it. I swapped out the white walls with something a little more aggressive. So far (its january 29) I am very impressed. It well out performs my mountain bike in the snow. The sprocket and chain aren't very happy, lube don't last long in the salt, sand and slush. I would definitely recommend this bike, it is an absolute BLAST! Throttle only intermittently works. Headlight same thing. Dies each ride despite 3/4 charge indicated – Maiden voyage, throttle did not result in speed increase. Minutes later throttle worked. Headlight-intermittently works. Stopped working 1st ride despite having 3/4 of battery left per indicator. 2nd ride-almost made it around the block before motor stopped working. easier for me to commute now on my Greaser than in a car, and it's of course great fun to just cruise on the weekends.

Only possible gripe would be maybe one or two extra gears given i'm riding in flat/downhill areas regularly and can pick up speed easily, but that's truly nitpicking! Other than that the build and quality is fantastic, couldn't fault it.

By a Greaser today, you won't regret it.

Fab ride! – I have lost my car license for 6 months and I thought it was the perfect way of getting the mobility i still need. Not sure I want my car back now! Love it! – I have had mine for just on a year and it is the best purchase I have ever made. I get out most days especially over summer and ride 35km’s+ Per day. It has a really long wheelbase and is taller than I expected. At 5'10'' I have to have the saddle very low. Dont let the pics fool you this is no BMX size bicycle.

I've never ridden an electric bike before but even with the UK's strict rules on motor size and speed, this bike is still a joy to ride.

Is it perfect? No, there's one or two little tweaks I'd personally make but any small issues pale in comparison to the rest of the bike and the whole experience of ownership.

There's an Electric Bike in my local cycle shop that has a similar spec as The Greaser but at 100 quid more and without the looks and charm she has.

Other vintage bikes I looked at were far more pricey.

Im so happy to have mine I just want to constantly show her off and normally I'm a hugely shy person.

Lastly, this isnt a "gimmick" bike

For me, it's my sole form of transport and once I get my fitness back up will be doing a 30mile round trip daily.

My only tip for new owners is don't underestimate her size so when buying a U/D lock get one longer than normal.

Classic Greaser Electric bike! – I bought the Black Limited edition 250watt Greaser and have to say it’s a stunning retro looking bike. Quality control is very good and between the 250wt motor and Shimano gears gets you up those tough hills easily. Riding hills around my area is a breeze and headwinds are a thing of the past, the electric motor is powerful and really hauls!

I am just over 6ft and the bike is very comfortable for a fully rigid bike, Also another thing to note is the customer service from the guys at Lovett Industries/Michael Blast is awesome, they kept me up to date with shipment and answered all my questions.
