I bought my KM5975 induction cooktop 8 years ago. At the high price I paid, I expected it to last the 20 years that Miele claims it's products last for. However, last weekend the cooktop started displaying FE35 as an error code. I arranged for a Miele technician to come and fix the problem upon where I was advised that it would cost over $1,100 to repair the power electronic board. I am a very disappointed customer.
Can believe how rubbish my Miele Dryer has been
My family has been a strong supporter of this brand with and excellent dishwasher and a pretty competent washing machine. We replaced our awesome Fisher and Paykle dryer (15 years in service with no problems) ready for upgrade because F&P didn't offer anything in the heavy dryer category that wasnt Chinese. Believing in the Miele brand there was only one choice, we reviewed Bocshe and other competing stuff and given our experience with Miele with other items we felt confident in out purchase. What a mistake!!! This piece of rubbish faults at...every dry and spend most of its time moaning about lint or some such millennial snowflake issue. We cant work out what its problem is, it take forever to dry anything and does it with loud beeping that wakes us up, scares the cats or plain scares our neighbours! For $2200 I would think the thing would dry clothes but NO, it sits in the laundry like a beligerent child and screams at us if we dont mess around with 4 different lint diffuser things. I am sick of it. having been a staunch Miele supporter, I will never buy another Miele product again. It is a disgrace. Product code TCE630 WP - Small print on number plate "Made in the Czech Republic" - It was sold to me as made in Germany - Another lie!! Miele if you have the guts call me (Craig van Asch) - and I will tell you just how crap this unit is [contact details removed]. I would be more than happy to vent my frustration, do you have a retrieval service, I would pay to have it removed from further soiling my home! Bosche give me a call, I want one of yours!
$35,000 Miele Inbuilt Freezer and Fridge has been a complete disaster and strongly urge people to avoid
I've been a happy buyer of Miele products for over 20 years. Happy to pay a premium for a quality product. Unfortunately that good run has ended.
Purchased an insanely expensive $35,000 Miele Fridge Freezer combination so we could externally clad the same as our kitchen as part of a total makeover. Big stretch but thought this is a 15 year asset that will allow us to hang glass on the outside. Within 12 months the Freezer stopped working. Took four (4) visits and a "stern" phone call to finally get repaired. Unfortunately the ice-machin...e still does not work properly and the repairman did not calibrate the doors properly so they no longer auto-close properly, thus meaning the fridge gets hot now if you don't realise it's slightly ajar. Fridge has been nothing but trouble and it would appear the heat exchange is about to fail again. Tried to blame the air intake not being to specification but the builder proved not he case. Regardless we doubled the size of the required intake. Still today the seal on the door gets incredibly hot, which is caused by the heat-exchanger not functioning correctly. So we are expecting the fridge to break down again soon. Service has been woeful with people continually coming out with no real capability to diagnose and rectify the fault. They appear as if they will work on a simple solution to solve and when that doesn't work, come back again and think of something else, then again and wait for part, which doesn't work then come back again with another part etc.. I can only suggest that they get paid per callout, so this works well for the repair person, but not the customer. The contact centre is unfortunately arrogant and have no appreciation that some of us have better things to do than to wait for a repair person between the hours of 7-12am or 12-5pm for multiple, multiple times. Just avoid the entire Miele Inbuilt range. Ridiculously overpriced and a total disaster.
I will never buy Miele washing machine again
My washing machine stops working at 1 year and 8 months. I will never buy one more product from Miele. I better buy cheaper products but with better and more friendly customer services. One of the worst experience I have ever had.
Very poor quality and a disappointment - Miele integrated dishwasher
We purchased our Miele Integrated Dishwasher just 5 years ago and it has been an absolute disappointment. Despite only using it occasionally (there's only 2 of us in our household) this week there was a faulty circulation pump which required replacement costing over $900!!! The technician found two error codes (F63 and F84) which you would not expect in a product by Miele that was meant to be 'top of the range' and premium quality. This dishwasher is certainly not of merchantable quality and at this point, I would never purchase one again.
Miele Thermal Disinfector
Purchased appliance in 2012 for A$11,550 in 2012. Had repeated error messages from day one, causing machine to stop mid-cycle. Miele service technician unable to find cause of problem. After 3 years faulty inlet hose found from manufacturing. By then out of warranty! Has costs thousands of dollars in repairs over the years. Latest quote is of cracked sump for $2,100. We have decided to dispose of the appliance as it is NOT fit for purpose - rusts instruments. Will NEVER buy Miele again.
Miele T1 steam finish&eco XL
I have been a homemaker for 40 years so naturally I have had several appliances. This dryer is by FAR the worst product (and one of the dearest dryers on the market) I have ever had the misfortune of owning.
It hardly heats up, it is not simple to operate and it creates a ball of damp laundry!
Miele.... where to start!!!
We are a household with multiple Miele appliances. Always bought Miele for the supposedly long levity of the appliances. Other appliances like our washing machine are still going well, but our Dishwasher had a failure just out of warranty. It started tripping the switch causing some power outages and soon after stopped heating. Miele sent a service technician for repairs. The heating element needed changing and he did not have the part with him. This got fixed when he visited again - We got charged for the call out time, but did not have to pa...y for the part. Within a year the fun started again. Tripped the switch a few times, smelled like electric and the heating element stopped working. I believe they are supposed to last a long time..... This time I took my electrical meter and did some measurements. Seemed like both the heating element and relay were toast. We booked a service call and told them to bring a heating element because it had a 0 ohm reading. I asked them to look the whole dishwasher over as I believed that the heating element dying was just a result of another underlying issue. When the service technician arrived, they did not bring the heating element, which resulted in another service call as they confirmed that the heating element died. They did return and replaced the heating element and relay. it is now 3 Months after the last heating element was replaced. We are starting to experience black outs again and the dishwasher smell strongly of electrical burn. If I get a service technician out, they won't find anything as it still works, meaning I would have to pay for the call out which is not cheap. I am convinced that there is an underlying problem causing the failure of the heating elements as they are supposed to last a long time. We are now researching a new dishwasher which won't be a Miele. Our 5 year old dishwasher will unfortunately end up at the tip as I don't want to sell it and pass the problem on to someone else. Until this experience, we were always happy to put Miele on top of our list while shopping for household appliances. Not anymore...

Never buying a Miele appliance again.
After being a loyal Miele customer for 20 years and having a house full of expensive Miele appliances, I will absolutely never be buying or recommending a Miele product again. I have a rangehood with the paint wearing off the buttons, a cooktop that has rusting burners and automatic ignition not working on one of the burners, and the final straw is now the door lock on my pyrolitic oven has stopped working after using the function only around 5 times in the oven's lifetime.
These are on top of the other host of problems with my appliances that...have been rectified in the past, often with a huge amount of resistance from Miele to accept any form of responsibility for the failure. When the light globe died in my rangehood a little while back, I went to change it following the exact instructions provided by Miele but the globe was stuck in the housing. I called Miele to have this problem fixed, only to be told that I would be charged because it was out of warranty and that I should have checked the globe was able to be removed within the warranty period (seriously?). When someone finally came out to fix it, it was indeed a manufacturing/assembly issue and the globe just happened to last longer than the warranty period. This is now the second time I've had someone come out to look at the door lock on my oven and have been told that it's wear and tear (who would expect an ~$350 lock to last more than 5 cycles?), and because it's now out of warranty it's going to cost me approximately $600 to fix. On top of this, never have I experienced such rude and condescending customer service from a supposedly reputable company in my life, absolutely zero care or understanding of my problem and why I'm unhappy with their product, and even went out of their way to try to contradict and discredit everything I was trying to say regarding the unacceptable failure of a component which has been used such few times. Is this what one would expect from a company which uses the slogan 'Immer Besser' ('Always Better' than what? I have dealt with many companies that treat their customers much better than this) and that purportedly tests their appliances to the equivalent of up to 20 years' use? If you're buying Miele because you think it's worth the extra money for quality, you'd better think again and shop elsewhere.
How disappointing my new Miele clothes dryer has been.
I have had Miele appliances now for 30 years. My last dryer I had was perfect and used it for 27 years and couldn’t fault it! The one I have now I paid $4500. and it’s been a regrettable product from the start. After the first few months Miele replaced the first dryer saying it had a fault but this one is no better. The problem being drying sheets always ends up in a ball and most of the time have to dry 1 sheet at a time! This is very time consuming and frustrating when I was used to dry my sheets in the old one with out any problems at all! I’ll never purchase another Miele product again and that’s sad as I had always believed Miele was the best in the world! Not the case any more unfortunately.
Very unhappy customer
I have recently purchased a Miele Dishwasher for $1500. I had built a new house and had the notion of purchasing 'Top Quality' appliances going forward....after all Miele have a solid reputation. I had not had the dishwasher for 4 weeks when there was an issue with the amount of rinse aid dispensed. I had quite a difficult time getting the machine replaced. The customer support staff were dismissive uncaring. I was told I could get a maintenance man sent out or my money back. Eventually, Miele agreed to replace the machine. I have had this m...achine(same model) for 3 weeks and the same issue with the rinse aid!!! I encountered the same defensive and deflective attitude from customer service. In an attempt to be reasonable I agreed to having a repair person review the machine and they found exactly what we suspected that the rinse aid dispenser was dispensing rinse aid when it should not be and they did replace this part. I was also told that this may not fully rectify the problem and if it continues they would replace the electronics!! I was also sent some dishwasher tablets and rinse aid by way of compensation. I have had three days of work and endless stress trying to resolve this matter with Miele and their response,"we are pleased you have noticed a significant difference in the wash results and trust this is now operating as expected" No mention of the personal impact of this and the loss of three days leave and undue stress and none of it my doing. I feel cheated. I feel I paid for a 'top of the range' machine and I have ended up in the space of 8 weeks with one replacement machine and now a repair in the replacement machine that I have only had for 3 weeks. If this is this what we can come to expect from a leading manufacturer, why would we ever continue to pay top dollar! Has anyone else had this problem? Not good enough! I dont think I would buy another Miele product.
I'm done with Miele.
I am pretty disappointed in Miele. Been a loyal customer for a decade or more now and always thought it was worth paying the extra to get a better product. Present count is Miele Oven, Miele Stove, Miele Washing Machine, Miele Dryer, and two Miele Dishwashers.
The washing machine has needed repair about 3-4 times over about 8 years. The stove top is a bit dodgy and gets stuck on ‘burn my dinner’ whenever more than two elements are on at once.
I wouldn’t usually complain publicly, but the final straw is now the dishwasher; only 4 years old, ...and has been repaired before. And the quote to fix it….$1,868! More than a new one. When contacted they did offer a substantial discount of 70%. However that would still leave me paying $560 to repair a machine that is out of warranty. And for that price I could get a new dishwasher of a different brand. So Miele and I are having a little trial separation. In my experience they are just not the reliable quality that I thought was worth paying a premium for. I am going to buy a new one this week. Not a Miele though.
So disappointing...Miele....immer kaput
In July 2014 we bought a Miele dishwasher to replace our 20 year old Blanco which was still well but the door hinge had failed. After recommendations from friends and research, I decided to buy a Miele as it seemed to rate very well for both cleaning, energy consumption, low noise and longevity. Since it has been installed, we have tried everything to try to ensure clean dishes. The only way we have been able to achieve this with any success is by using the pots and pans 75 degrees setting. We don’t use the dishwasher for pots and pans, just c...rockery and cutlery. Some time ago, in an attempt to reduce power bills we resorted to using the sensor wash and washing any still dirty items by hand each morning. The crockery baskets are now rusting in many places which are now leaving rust marks on my white dishes, and bits have broken off the cutlery tray. I eventually got a Miele service technician out several months ago to look at the machine and replace the Miele oven element which had melted (yes, truly melted, that is another story). He made some adjustments, but seemed to indicate that the rust wasn’t a problem, though now it is soiling the dishes I think it really is! Why would steel not even stainless be used inside a dishwasher? Especially when the use of salt is recommended? He also indicated that he thought the machine had had heavy use. I would expect that using a dishwasher usually once or sometimes twice a day for a family would be quite normal, but the number of washes the machine indicated it had done was around double what I would have expected from our use. To say we are disappointed is really an understatement. Every morning as I stack the dirty dishes and cutlery coming out of my dishwasher leaves me feeling frustrated and like I have completely wasted my money, not only on the machine but on the technician service.
Product does not last and service is poor
Bought an induction cooktop that we were told by the rep was top of the line. They certainly charged us top of the line. $3500. Now 5 years later we have noticed that 1 burner will not go past 6. it gets hot but wont boil. we contacted Miele and got stuffed around for a while but were assured by the service man that Miele wanted to protect their reputation and always stood by there product. Finally we received the following from them;
Thank you for your call and for taking the time to speak with me this afternoon with regard to your cooktop.
All Good with Miele Appliances until you have a problem!
For the past 15 years all of the properties have had Miele appliances and in the past we have been happy with their performance. That was until our 5 year old Miele microwave oven died. We took it to one of their certified repairers and was told it could take almost as much to repair it as it would be to buy a new one (at over $2000).
Miele advertise that their products will last for 20 years OR equivalent usage. Our microwave has only been used one or twice per week for either reheating or defrosting, certainly not over used.

Questions & Answers
Our Dishwasher is onky 2.5yrs old & it flashes F84 we have checked everything can’t resolve problem?
Hi there, thanks for your question. That type of fault requires a service call as it can be a number of different things. If you can please book a service call using https://www.servicebooking.miele.com.au or if you have any questions don’t hesitate to call us on 1300 464 353 (please be aware these contact methods are for Australia only). Kind regards, Anna
Not sure what's happening with Miele Services. I had my dryer fixed, paid what was due while the service person was in attendance and then was sent an over due bill for a part I wasn't asked to pay for while the service person was in attendance. Don't know what's happening as a customer you don't have any idea what the final cost of a service will be if they send new invoices after the service call.
I will recommend you to call them right away so that they can fix the bill. Don’t let this misunderstanding or incorrect bill ruin your credit report.
Hi Jodie, you are welcome to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org if you need any assistance. Just send me through your contact details and the bill and we can assist you. Kind regards, Anna.
Hi , Our Miele dishwasher that we bought a year and half ago, with extended warranty of 5 years stopped working last week with an error message F11, contacted Miele last Friday and they advised a technician will pop over in a weeks time .. Finally we had the technician come in yesterday and told that they found a screw in the dishwasher n that caused the drain pump broken. We don’t wash screws so we have no idea where the screw came from and they advised that the screw doesn’t seem to theirs n he quoted $800 though we have an extended warranty of 5 years .. A new dishwasher cost is just $1099, I am not sure why would drain pump cost $800 and they are not covering the cost.. not sure if the technician put the screw in there so they don’t have to cover the cost.. He left and said will email the cost and haven’t heard since.. can someone contact us ASAP
This sounds like a department of fair trading issue? Our experience with Miele is that if needs fixing its almost cheaper to replace it. The EU are considering a white goods legislation where products must last a minimum of 5 years. This sounds to me that the industry is full of dud equipment designed to keep the consumption going?
