Terrible dryer, expensive piece of junk – After spinning my clothes in the Miele clothes washer at 1600rpm, clothes are ready for a quick dry. Unfortunately, when placed into the Miele Dryer, and being set onto the cottons setting, 145 minutes later, my clothes are cold and wet. Filters are cleaned regularly, clothes take hours and hours to get dry. I end up getting frustrated with the… Read more
dryer and reverting to the clothes horse as this is quicker and better for the environment than my Miele Dryer. So disappointed. I will not recommend this expensive machine to anyone.
Very disappointed – I used the dry for everyday clothes bedding and towels Extremely disappointed that the machine stopped drying and constantly beeped Rang Miele and was told it was just out of warranty and wouldn’t budge. Extremely disappointing that you pay $2k+ for something and is doesn’t last. The part on its own $550 and that wasn’t including labour. So it… Read more
sits collecting dust! I would never recommend Miele to anyone and I used all Miele products for 20+ years. I’ve read other reviews on newer models and they have the same issue with clothes not drying etc.. they now offer 10 year warrant on products and couldn’t help me with some!
T 8929 is an excellent dryer, that is soft on clothes and dries efficiently – I purchased the T 8929 dryer to match my W 5965 washing machine (which is a fantastic, quality built washing machine). Hence, I had great expectations of quality and usability for this item. I have not been a high volume dryer user. However, having moved to Melbourne in Australia a dryer is a must during winter, so my usage needs have… Read more
changed. I wanted a dryer that was energy efficient, didn't have drying cycles over hours and was delicate on my clothes. This machine has delivered.
The heat pump technology is fantastic. It has dried my sheets, towels etc gently and efficiently and all within around 40 minutes to an hour - amazing! I have not had to alter the settings to a higher drying finish - the standard dry finish does the job perfectly. My last dryer took 1hr30mins to 2hrs to do the same job and was much harsher on the items. The T 8929's drying ability is very impressive.
The machine is sufficiently quiet - just the gentle sound of clothes going around in a drum drying.
I have it hosed out (so no emptying of the water container).
The 3 line navigation control panel is easy to follow and the programmes are easy to follow.
The only negative comment I have, which is very minimal, is that the lint filters at the front of the machine can see the odd bit of lint fly up when you open the door to retrieve items.
This machines works well and does everything it claims to do. I couldn't be happier. It was a great purchase.
I bought the dryer at a time when it was a runout model at a cost of $2,099. Having started at $3,399, this was a bargain price.
I am a happy Miele customer and definitely recommend this dryer.
Another great Miele appliance – Having read a novel worth of reviews of the dryers, we decided to go for quality and energy efficiency. This device combines both. Reasonably quite, works wonders by drying a full load in just over an hour and sucking 1,2 kW of power. Not sure why others do not like this model. As for me, it is great. Matches well with the washer we've had for… Read more
over 3 years now. Our model is German made Energy efficient, well made, plenty of functions Doesn't put clothes away! :) Could be quiter
False advertising and Missleading sales people – It is with some surprise I am writing this . We have been dedicated Miele customers for many years. We have a Miele range hood,Oven, Cook top, Dishwasher, Microwave and vacuum cleaner. We have always been very happy with their performance. So after years of hearing about the legendary Miele washing machines/driers as well as the amazing delivery… Read more
service I have been left totally underwhelmed with our experience. This past weekend we went into Gold Star electronics in Southport on the Gold Coast with the intention of getting a Miele washing machine and matching dryer after years of planning to get them (and saving for them). The sales person (Silvia) was raving about how good the product is because it was made in Germany it was such great quality. I commented that the light was quite handy as it would make finding socks and other items stuck to the top of the drum after the spin cycle in the washing machine and she responded " oh that doesnt happen with Miele" (this has also proved to be another lie.) Anyway we ended up purchasing the W5965WPS washer & T8929WP dryer as we liked the steam function for our business clothes and various other functions that are too many to mention.
We took delivery of both washer and dryer and while the installers were polite, quick and cleaned up after themselves, there was no demonstration/verbal information given about the product other than them telling me “it’s on a wash cycle because the machines are fumigated when they bring them into the country and you will be able to use it when it is finished no worries” and also “ Those are the instruction manuals. Have a read of them as this machine has heaps of extras. The yellow one is the quick start guide” . Then they left after asking me to sign the delivery form. I thought this was rather unsatisfactory for the delivery of machines with so many functions and I had expected better information than that from the installers. I then had a look at the “Delivery” form they had asked me to sign and see that they had ticked all sorts of things they were supposed to inform me of but didn’t. Some items ticked but I can assure you, at no time was I told about were.... how to remove or clean the filter, shown how the control panel works, told about the hot water connection, or advised to check the plumbing in a couple of days. The only demonstration was when I was shown (waved in front of me nose) the tool to adjust the legs if we ever moved. Though no demonstration of how to actually use it was given as I was assured the legs had already been adjusted. Just to top everything off I noticed on the dryer that my brand new and very expensive “Made in Germany” product, as I was told by the sales assistant and led to belive by Miele , was actually “Made in the Czech republic” . This is false advertising and misrepresentation of the worst kind. When I buy something, and especially a premium high priced product, I expect to get what I have been sold….and I was sold - a dryer and washing machine MADE IN GERMANY.
I straight away phoned Gold Star electronics to speak to the sales person and I got the fob off I was expecting (knowing the sales was done and paid for) “Oh yes the new models are coming from the Czech republic, but I didn’t think they had started to bring them in yet”….. that’s it! She couldn’t give a rats! I am also shocked that there is no Miele washing detergent that is complimentary with the machine. When I asked about why there was none included with the machines (as she had also raved about this when we purchased the machines so i thought some would be included) the sales assistant said that we have to purchase it online form Miele and gave me you website. I mean REALLY? So we spend $5548 (after discount and have to pay $25 delivery for each item, $50 in total) on a washer and a dryer and not even get a tester of the “oh too good not too use” detergent…. I’m gobsmacked. I can assure you we won’t be logging onto your website to buy some to “test” at our own cost!
I went to use the washing machine the following morning and after trying to work out the instructions as it is a little bewildering with the amount of settings I switched it on oly to have a warning message flashing on the screen “ Remove Transport Bars” or something like that. I phoned the Miele 1300 number pressed 3 for the product information and explained that the machine was delivered yesterday and this was the first time I had used it and this message had come up on the screen, so what should I do? The lady on the other end of the phone in a very accusatory and aggressive voice said “ WHO INSTALLED IT?” implying that this wouldn't happen if Miele had installed it. When I said YOU installed it she changed her tune quick smart and was very “oh I see….. all you need to do is….” After finishing the call she finished with a very cheery “ enjoy your washing machine “ or something similar. I thought to myself I would enjoy it much more if my experience had been better with delivery and installation.
Anyway the washing machine is now going. But i think the Miele phone staff need some training in customer relations as well as their installation staff needing training on doing their job properly.
I have emailed Miele about these issues with no response so I will be taking this to the ACCC as i am sure they will be most interested in this misrepresentation of such an expensive premium product. False advertising and misrepresentation of the products country of origin is a very serious matter.
Too early to review the washing/drying quality of the machine yet. The Washing machine was made in Germany as claimed.
VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS WHOLE EXPERIENCE AND WONT BE RECOMMENDING MIELE ANYMORE
NOT MADE IN GERMANY (which is a major selling feature for them and why we bought it) as claimed by the sales person and lead to believe by Miele. Terrible installation with no information/training given.
Miele contacted me to offer a full refund if i wanted one. They apologized for the miss leading… Read more
Disappointed with the Miele branc – I have the T8827 WP and am sorry that I didn't look into cleaning the internal lint filter. There are actually four areas to clean after each use; the door frame (x2) and inside the door (x2) one is quick and the other area is wiping the caked-on fluff off foam. Not easy. I was told by Miele to wash it. Who has time for that. I am sorry I did… Read more
not stay with the Bosch. Also, I recently purchased the stack because I wanted a folding tray. Wow, I was surprised that it is about 10cm shorter (when pulling out) than the Bosch. If Miele wasn't SO expensive I would definitely change back to Bosch. Now that I have it ... not much. Cleaning FOUR filters. Small folding tray on the stack.
Disappointed – I purchased a Miele washing machine and dryer package. I love my washing machine but I am very disappointed with the T 8929 WP heat pump dryer. It takes nearly three hours to dry about seven towels that have been spun at 1600 rpm. I even changed the settings after a couple of loads and put it on normal plus and then extra dry. Still takes… Read more
forever. It is suppose to be more energy efficient but it takes three times as long as my old dryer to dry clothes. There is a lint filter inside the front door that is covered and two at the opening of the barrel that are not covered, so you have to clean them before you get every load out or you drag the clothes over them and they get covered in lint. The only good thing about this dryer is that it does not put hot air into the room like a vent dryer does. I wish I had not spent a fortune on this dryer it is not worth the money. There is no hot air in the room. Way too expensive, lint filters in wrong place and takes forever to dry.
Hi, I understand the time changes as the clothes are drying so I worked it out by actually… Read more (+1 reply)
Energy efficient tumble dryer – As far as tumble dryers go, this one does everything we want it to do. There are lots of functions for different load types, various drying temperature options, and many other functions. It has a condenser that captures the water from the clothes, so no external plumbing or venting is required, which is great in small spaces. Best of all it is… Read more
