BMW service inclusive for annual oil changes and other consumables on low km car a no go. Otherwise it’s every 2 or three years. Gotta say it took a bit of badgering to get it done but the SIP is handy when it comes to disc brake pads and disc replace. Now to the car, 60000 km and both rear and front discs replaced at 25000 and 45000 respectively. Front tyres lasted 50,000 and cost $800 to replace fronts. Battery life is about 3.5 years and $750 to replace. Recently the front right engine mount rubber went any near $400 for parts and a thousand dollars for 2.5 to 3 hours of labour plus GST. Engine mount = $1600

Toyota Yaris GR or equivalent likely a better buy, better drive better build and better service inclusions and cost

So keeping a mini in parts once it’s older is a lifestyle choice. Based on billing info from a friend a turbo overhaul is plus $8000.
