Worth for money but only me feeling lack of power? – I own a 2022 ASX and a 2011 Golf, the ASX has a lot improvement in functions and the whole family love it! Good space for a family and more comfort. But talking about the power, I never expect a 2.0L car could be like this powerless, the engine has massive noise when climbing but it didn't change nothing! The speed is not increasing at all! It… Read more
was only me in the car and it feels like the engine noise is like complaining carrying a family of 4! But it was only me! Why yelling! Golf never yells even with 4 pp on the car.
Overall the ASX is good.

Not built like they use to – For the past 12 years i owned and drove two older toyota corolla’s. And I could not speak highly enough about the quality of them. As my kids were heading into teenage years, and our income was stable we purchased our very first brand new car. To say I was excited is an understatement. We’ve now had our 2019 Mitsubishi ASX 18 months, have done… Read more
just under 30,000 km. Like all my belongings I treat this car like gold, the most expensive thing I have ever purchased, after over a decade of driving older cars, I only ever park in the garage, at shops I park further away to reduce door dints, my kids aren’t allowed to eat or drink in my car, my partner and sister make fun of me but I do not care! I purchased the custom floor mats, boot Cover, paint protecton, interior protector, my car is used to take my kids to school, grab groceries and the occasional family weekend out. I am a full time student by correspondence.
Yet, despite my care, despite my love for my car it is so very quickly showing signs of wear in a way my Corolla never did!
Firstly, the paint - soooo many rock chips in the front of the car - of which I have found and heard sooo many people complain about.
Secondly - the “scratches” under all the handles - at first I thought it was my wedding ring so I removed it - but I quickly noticed the back doors also have it - despite them only being used half the time of drivers door - and by kids who do not by any means have long nails. I can’t understand but after observing other Mitsubishi asx in car parks they all have the same
Thirdly - where the seat belt buckle hits the side of car when being retracted in - is taking chunks out of the interior plastic
Fourthly - I added the front and rear dashboard cameras - and in installing them they absolutely shredded the carpet - which is now fraying
Fifth - the back seat buckle is faulty and pops out mid drive
Sixth - the touch screen media player constantly freezes
Overall the quality is just so so cheap. Not what you would expect for a $ 30K+ car
My kids and I play a game while driving on the highway or walking through car parks - spot the dinted ASX - and if your paying attention you’ll see the Mazda’s cx3/5’a rarely have the dints and paint damage the asx do.

Looks nice, drives ok but unreliable and cheaply made – Air conditioner has been broken from factory intermittently blowing very cold, then warm and so on. Waited three weeks for a part which didn't fix the issue and now I was asked to wait another 6 weeks on a new compressor from Japan. All this while we have 34 degree days in QLD. Now I also noticed the stitching on the seems of the seat cushion… Read more
fabric coming apart. I am a light guy at just 80kg, the car has only been driven 6000km and I hardly ever drive anyone else but myself around. After taking photos at the dealers and sending them to Mitsubishi, I am still waiting on a response 10 days later.
UPDATE: After 15 days and several follow up calls to the dealer Mitsubishi responded to the seat warranty claim as follows: "Mitsubishi have advised the stitching is still intact and uncompromised at this time and that replacing the seats at this point won't change anything. They have noted the concern on your file and advised that your warranty is valid until 2025."
What a joke.
So far, a its a beauty – Bought it brand new in Oct. 2020. So far, (touch wood) it has been a little beauty. Up until Xmas it had just been used local in Sydney and has been great. In the space of 3 weeks over Xmas we have drove just on 3,500 klm on two road trips. First was the Hay Plain to Balranald etc and back to Sydney and then out to Lightening Ridge and surrounds… Read more
and back. Fuel use pleasantly surprised me. It averaged out at around $8 per 100 klm at around $1.15 a litre average. On long trips my back normally gets a little stiff and sore but the ASX seats and suspension are so comfortable I was able to drive the full distance home in 9 hours with no issues. The car drove a treat and handled the dirt roads and long run home without a hiccup. There is plenty of leg room in the front of the car and roomy enough in the rear that the passengers don't complain. Pre-purchase, the boot area looked big enough but once some bits and pieces go in, it soon fills up pretty quick. Another foot would have been nice. If anything changes I will be sure to let people know. The 10 year Mitsubishi Warranty sounds good along with the fixed price for services. I hope there will be no surprises when it has its 15,000klm service. (extra costs).

2020 ASX GSR 42k kms – Had my ASX GSR bang on 3 years. THE BAD: I will say never get the Sterling silver bc the paint chips like crazy I am very pedantic i get told all the time but if you touch the door onto anything it chips. Scratches up a storm too and under handles all the scratches very cheap paint. You cannot buff out. Quote for 1 door was $500. Carpet is… Read more
wearing badly drivers side no other car has done this I've had 7. Even mats are wearing like crazy. Then after 2 yrs a noise started in the rear very obvious squeaking and creaking. This is my pet hate of hates!!!! Mitsi had my car for 1 month they took the back apart had to call engineer from SA as never seen this before. Could not find issue but lubed up everything it was all very dry and fixed the issue but it came back after 6 month's. Its not as bad. I cannot be stuffed going back bc I don't want to be without my car for another month. I can live with it. My dad has 2018 ES and zero noises or issues its the cone of silence in there over speed humps etc. Go figure cars do not like me. My previous 2015 tucson highlander had 13 warranty claims and had a broken media screen the 1st day I got it. Unreal. THE GOOD: despite the above I love my car everything else works great including media screen and good reverse camera good zip off the line a huge fuel tank 65L this is rare most bigger cars have 60L. Great wipers front and back great jets to clean. Love love the half suede half pleather seats. Leather gear stick hand brake and steering. 18 inch black wheels big spoiler huge mirrors. 7 airbags, BSM icon I mirror very clear. AEB can be a bit false negative with beeping when nothing there. My cap price servicing finished now will be paying thru nose as of 2024 so I'm shopping around. Definitely would buy another Mitsi maybe Eclipse cross or outlander. They are pretty reliable and things last like brakes tyres. Brakes at 50% at 42k kms. Looked at Koleos but died when I read the reviews so many 1 star and shocking issues has turned me right off plus depreciation is insane. Looking at new X trail too but to get native sat nav must buy Ti at 55k!!!! My ASX only depreciated 18% they are selling at new prices its crazy.
Very good car – Very smooth acceleration, looks stylish, from outside To inside , very smooth feel while riding/driving. I owned new Nishan Qashqai Ti 2017 model. Compared to that this is better ,even this one has less function compared to high end Nissan which I owned , for this Price this is Excellent car, and with 10 year warranty and 5 year Roadside… Read more
assitance which provides peace of mind . This is just fantastic car, I just loved this car , it is my family car now with two baby seat, with plenty of space for one adult in rear . some time I feel like it should have this and that, but that will increase the overall cost of car. It still has front sensor, auto ignition switch, nice looking dash, rear camera, apple car play and android auto, dab radio, big Smooth touchscreen screen. Best fuel I have got from this car is 5.8 just one time, 6.2 per 100 ,I have got couple of time which is more than what company has claimed, I was never the fan of old model ASX, now For this price and look , and comfort to ride, I easily recommend it to anyone.
Best 27k ive spent :) first time ASX MR owner – You wont go wrong... such a value-for-money sub-compact suv... I brought a 2019 facelift MR model which comes with upgraded 18s, tints, sensors, apple car play, auto and in Red Diamond. It is soooo smooth cruising along open roads and only uses 7L per 100km on 95 gas. On 91 it was using 7.9L per 100km. This goes up to 9L flooring it. I cannot… Read more
fault it. I think people compare these to cars or else large SUVs... well then yes they are a tad bumpy at slow speed and yes the motor can be louder than a corolla. Compared to other subcompacts its tried and true. Yes it is a 10 yr old body... but it weighs less than my old Liberty wagon and is much quicker too for a 2L. People stare at the bold facelift and the red pearl paint. I find it doesnt have much body-roll at all which makes the ride rigit. The seats are soft, the blind spots arent bad at all, the gas is good, the sounds are good - just turn down the bass to crank it up loud. The speakers do distort but low range it sounds mint. The boot fits 2 mountain bikes which is what won me over the Mazda Cx3... plus im a 33 yr old male who likes a masculine bold look - mazdas are femmy. I resent big people mover suvs... and this is not one of them. It is like a wide hatch back with large wheels... it is easy to park compared to larger Rav4s, CRVs and cheaper than HRVs. It is a hard wearing practical suv... safe and has enough features... I couldnt justify 2500 for blind spot monitoring or gps... the rear camera and sensors are plenty. It is built in Japan not China or Thailand too. It is one of the safest subcompacts next to the Subaru Forester... parts are cheap and servicing is capped and every 15,000km. 5 yr warranty and the cvt auto flies in sport mode... i hate autos but love this one. The MR looks like the GSR but 10k cheaper... so go with it. If you have a bad back... this is the car for you. The seats adjust alot and the height is an easy slide in and out. The steering wheel is fully adjustable too inwards and up/ down. I feel like I am still driving a car not a big sluggish people mover. Highly recommended. Mitsi finance are good too.

Fantastic for city & highway driving, never had a mechanical issues with it at all. Fits 3 maxi pro plus car seats across the backseat or 3 adults comfortably. The only downside for me is it doesn’t have a cd player. I will say I never had this car serviced by Mitsubishi after a bad experiences when they serviced my previous axs, my son is a… Read more
licensed mechanic & he doesn’t use cheap parts & he is absolutely thorough when doing a service. This was the top of the line in the asx when purchased & I have no complaints whatsoever. Great on fuel & a great car to drive.
Grear – 2021 asx, beautiful to drive and an absolute pleasure to own, fits everything in and takes me everywhere I need to go. Comfortable and affordable to run. You really do get 7.5L/100km on the hwy so it's great for travelling. Show details
An average car that does the job – I have had 2 x ASX company cars in the past year and travelled 40000km. The Positives: *Good fuel economy *Handling in and around roundabouts and bends is respectful with little body roll *Nice and nippy around city and multistory carparks are never an issue to drive around The Negatives: *The engine sounds like it will jump out of the bonnet… Read more
when pulling on to a major highway trying to get to 100kph. Under powered. The CVT transmission just doesn't handle this situation at all. *Any day over 36 (pretty every day in Perth in Summer) the forward facing crash camera will warn you it's not working. Mitsubishi have informed me they are aware of issue but never resolved ( my Rav4) never had this issue *Seats are uncomfortable
Ignition, click sound – When I turn the key into the "ON" position I hear a click, click, click sound, anywhere 1-5 times, it varies. People tell it is normal, I am doubting it. Even have problems starting few occasions. Since I have had the first service after 4 weeks driving as per warranty, the car has felt different. 6 months ownership. Show details
Bang for buck! – Been driving the Mitsubishi ASX 2019 ES for over 3 years now. No issues whatsoever. Comfort, handling and features are great for the price point. Very satisfied overall. Show details
Mitsubishi should be embarrassed – As a family car it doesn’t work. No lights in the back (where the kids go) so getting out of it at night it a nightmare. Low roof means that i have to be excluded from family drives as i am 5’11. Key fob only works next to the sensor, so they may as well have made it an old fashioned key. Cruise control speeds. Door locks will lock the… Read more
passenger in if the car is off, making it a major safety issue. The soundproofing is non existent. The in car display only works if the mitsubishi sd card is installed. Otherwise a perpetual error displays. Again a family car, and found this out when my kids took the sd card out not knowing what it was. The space is horrendous, the plastic everywhere feels cheaper than what you’d expect. Seat warmer works as described. Door locks are a major issue. Low petrol alerts are uninformed and useless.

Great car – This is our 3rd car of this make and we love it. Seats are extremely comfortable. We use it everyday and on long trips away. It's very reliable and quiet on open roads. It has enough cup holders and the heating and cooling is very efficient. We service every 9 months with no issues. Will buy again. Show details
Great little SUV – We have a Mitsubishi ASX LS 2020 which was purchased in May this year. It's a great car for the price and has more tech and features than you'd think. It's compact, relatively comfortable (the seats could be more supportive) but has all that you need in a modern SUV ie Apple Carplay, Auto headlights and high beams, auto windscreen wipers,… Read more
reversing camera and rear sensors.
It has a surprisingly large fuel tank, which is great as you don't need to fill up to often. Very happy with the car, reliable and cheap to maintain.
An embarrassing vehicle from mitsubishi – No room, (I’m not too tall at only 175cm)... no interior lights in the back. Sd card with non-downloadable mitsubishi software is required to run the touchscreen. This can be easily removed, which is not a good thing. Door locks are unsafe, and allows driver to lock the passengers in with no quick release even for the front passenger. Cruise… Read more
control likes to speed. Seat warmers work well, but that’s the only nice feature. In short, don’t buy one of these and certainly dont buy one from Essendon Hyundai, they are shifty and dishonest car sales people.
2021 ASX Dream to own – My 2021 ASX LS model is a dream. Purchased late Nov 2020, it's one of the first 2021 update models fresh off the car carrying ship from Japan. This SUV is gorgeous and drives like a dream. Plenty of grunt, accelerates fast and uses only 7 ish litres per 100 kilometres, the auto CVT gearbox is the best design ever, aircon is cold, everything is… Read more
just awesome, vehicle in white looks amazing. Such a well thought out vehicle. So comfy, heaps room, easy to drive, top selling SUV in Australia year after year. Ten years warranty and ten yrs capped priced servicing. Best purchase ever. Paid apx $32"000 driveway for top LS model and got tint and mats, bonnet protectors, windshields etc etc. Amazing value, safety packed LS model the best.
Test drove this and hated it – I test drove this car over a weekend and it was very uncomfortable to drive. The front driver's seat has very high sides which pushes your knees together, so you can't relax. However, the high sides of the seat also cause pain, they push up against the back of my upper thigh and cause nerve pain in the back of my leg. Also the seatbelt clasp on… Read more
the driver's side digs into my hip. I had to put a tea towel between my hip and the clasp just to drive it. When I got out of the car, I had trouble walking.
The glove box made a very strange rattle for a new car. The air con was positioned so it's right in your face and it was very annoying. The car wasn't anything special and had cheap, scratchy plastics all in the inside. It definitely isn't worth the price.
Fantastic small SUV – I previously owned a Lancer and have never had any mechanical issues with it. So for my next car upgrade I was looking into small SUV’s. The ASX by far is great value for money for a small SUV. My main purpose of driving is for work or appointments, and even though I downgraded from a 2.4L to a 2.0L engine, I don’t particularly notice the power… Read more
difference. It is a little laggy (I.e takes 2 seconds after putting your foot down hard to register and have the engine kick in), but for me this isn’t a hassle. The reverse camera gives me more confidence for safely parking. It has excellent safety features. Apple Car Play is fantastic, giving you the option of hands free for your phone and playing music if radio stations aren’t you’re thing. The heated seats are incredible, I’m not sure I could own a car that doesn’t have them again. I love the panoramic moonroof, driving on a slightly sunny day with the inside open creates a feeling of the cabin being slightly larger than what it actually is.
The only thing that does tend to bother me slightly is that when it’s been raining and you open the car door, you get drops of water landing on your car seat. I see a lot of people complain about the road noise, however comparing my Lancer to the ASX, I don’t particularly notice a dramatic difference.
Inside is easy to clean and safely reach those hard to reach areas. With the added height of a small SUV, and me being short, I need a ladder to reach the roof.
My car was purchased as an ex-demo model.
Bluetooth Issue – Hi All, I need some help. I have a ASX 2016 since getting my new I pHone with Optus the Bluetooth is all muffled and I cannot hear the other person properly. Interior good quality – Love this car, had Peugeot 4008 basic which was written off due to tree falling on it in storm. Interior is identical to look at but 8,000 extras with the Asx and same price as my basic Peugeot 4008.very pleased
Good family car – We purchased the ASX because we needed a larger car to accommodate our family. It is comfortable, easy to drive and I found the reversing sensors have been fantastic as I am not used to driving such a large car. We have the top of the line option which includes nice leather seats and the seat warmers have been lovely to use on the cold days. The… Read more
only negatives I have are the number of recalls we have received, it is very inconvenient to take the vehicle to a service center each time when we rely on it to taxi our family around (we can't go anywhere without our car seats). There is no interior light towards the back of the car so it makes attending to the children difficult at nigh and I have found the interior has gotten quite scratched from general everyday life (we don't transport anything out of the ordinary).
Apart from these few things, I really love the car and would consider purchasing another one in the future.

Performing as you would expect – It is a pleasure to drive. I had the space saver replaced with same size spare with my purchase. It fuel consumption is good, especially on long hauls. Installed a 'fit my car' protector mat in the boot because of the degree of painy scratches when placing my walking frame into/out of the boot. Great car with great engine/gearbox performance.
Would recommend this vehicles to others wishing to purchase one.
I love my ASX – This car is so beautiful to drive, it is so quiet and handles so well. I do find the interior quality is a little cheap but compared to other turbo suv's on the market it is amazing value for money. There is plenty of space for kid seats and comes with a lot of little luxury things that make it a pleasure to own. I wish the service team was as good as the car. Show details
Not used to lack of get up & go – Going from a 380 to the ASX is a big change obviously as it has little get up and go when i need it. Im not unhappy but i wish i looked further into it. Id have gone for a stronger exceleration result. I added ryno roof racks so it looks great all in black but over all i think i should bot have rushed un so my own fault. Wonderful – I love driving with this car. Soft, under control, low cost and with the same power on the road and the city. With enough space for the driver and the occupants. I'm pleased with the acceleration of this car and its dimensions are great for parking. I wish the camera had 360 degrees. I had driven 18,000 kilometers and had no small trouble. Show details
Great! – Brought this car in 2015 and have not regretted my decision! Handles well, wonderful to drive, good on fuel, features are great, my favourite being the push to start button. that’s it. My partner and I used it for a weeks long worth trip into Kakadu and it managed to get us into places that were 4wd recommended. While I wouldn’t personally recommend doing it, we couldn’t fault it. We would of been disappointed if we had of spent over $1000 for a 4wd when I had a car capable of it.
Great Car – Fuel effecent, good road view, handles well, back seat can fit 2 baby seats and an adult with ease, good all-round performance and would buy again if give my time over again. Very little road noise. Seats are good but not great. You get quite a lot of car for your money. Show details
ASX represents unbeatable value at price – ASX standard model is well appointed with reverse mirror, folding wing mirrors, quality steel wheel rims, warranty and free roadside assist - at $23,950 on road it's excellent value. Car drives well and is responsive around town and sufficiently powered for the open road. While the 2.0L engine is not overly powerful (less so than my wife's… Read more
previous Nissan X Trail (with 2.5L) it is sufficient for most situations and fuel efficient. The engine and road-noise are more marked than my Toyota RAV though not major issues. Dashboard, legroom and general layout are all pleasingly well designed. The ASX provides good visibility and ample carrying capacity for most use.
Love my ASX – I am a huge fan of my ASX! When I was originally reading reviews before I purchased it I was a little unsure, as a lot of people said that the seats were really uncomfortable and because I had planned on taking my ASX across the Nullabour that was playing on my mind. fold-out drinks tray from the central back seat. The model that I am currently driving includes a reverse camera as standard in addition to reverse sensors, which is perfect for those tight city carparks.
I have had no issues with the car so far, and has been very reliable given I drive around 2 hours to and from work each day.
For anyone considering purchasing an ASX, I highly recommend it. I've had friends who have recently purchased one themselves and have been delighted by its performance and reliability.
Perfect amount of space for a growing family – What I love about my Mitsubishi ASX is that it has more space inside than most small SUVs and drives nicely on country roads, with a comfortable ride, good steering and plenty of power. It comes with a five-year warranty. There is good airbag coverage all around, and the standard rear parking sensors and reversing camera raise safety levels by… Read more
giving a better understanding of what’s behind. The air-conditioning maintains a set temperature and it has heated front seats, which feels great in winter. The wheels are made from an aluminium alloy which makes it look nicer. Front fog lights double as daytime running lights makes the car more visible to others. The ASX offers the perfect amount of space for a growing family.
There is not enough light at the backseats though
I love my car! – Such a good driving experience. Love the interior and the leather heated seats, sooooo good on the butt in winter LOL. Even being diesel 4WD the fuel economy is fantastic. Good audio system and very spacious back seat area and tailgate storage is good. Good to tow small trailer too. Show details

MY LAST NEW CAR – Performance and handling are excellant, there is quite a bit of road noise from tyres and some wind noise. The audio,GPS, bluetooth is poor. It is a difficult system to… Read more
learn, the GPS is of poor quality and functionality compared to a Tom Tom. The cruise control has no memory and has to reset everytime. The keyless system often will not allow you to lock the car unless the wheels are straight. There is a huge heat wall over the dash and is very noticable to anyone who sits close to the steering wheel. So reliability, except for door locking, has been very good as have running costs. Over all a very good car with just a few little annoying short comings. Very happy with its comfort and performance.
