Mitsubishi Electric Bottom Mount MR-CX Series (Inverter) Questions & Answers
VerifiedI have to buy a new fridge. My house is small open planned with wooden floors and I couldn't handle a noisy fridge given it's location. I was looking at the Mitsubishi Electric 450L Bottom Mount MR-CX450ER because I read where it is supposed to be very quiet. Having read the above reviews now I'm totally confused. Can anybody else provide their experience with this fridge as I have to buy one ASAP.
I have a Mitsubishi 450 L and after 4 and a half years it is playing up.either too col or too hot. It took a month to fix and problem remains. It is now nearly 2 months and Mitsubishi just don’t get back to me. I will never buy a Mitsubishi again.
Please bring this model back. We have had ours for nearly 10 years but the freezer no longer keeps temperature and now it is discontinued- very sad as the 450l doesn’t fit our space or have as good reviews. If you still had the 402l we’d be out replacing it tomorrow with a new one.
Why was this discontinued? The 450L model gets worse reviews (sounds like it introduced a high pitch noise issue) and doesn’t fit into as many kitchens (like mine). People with narrow fridge spaces really can’t win a trick. Its so annoying to find good things and then see they’ve been discontinued and replaced with something worse.
Hi There, Where can I purchase a new bottle door shelf for MR-CX37OEJ-W-A2 please?
Hi Marg,
You can order replacement fridge shelves from one of our Spare Parts distributors listed on this page: external link

This would fit my fridge space perfectly. Are they being made any more?
Does not appear to be a current model. More the pity as I have had this model for a few years and love its size and functionality. Especially the crisper draw.
A quick search shows quite a few stores are still selling them. Appliances online has them. Try to seach/find the spec sheet pdf online. It shows the different size options. If there is an upload option here I'll upload it for you.
Thanks for your reply, I have searched high and low and can only see the 450L which is too deep for our space. I’d love if you could send a link.
Oh no you're right. Sorry it seems to be only the 450l now. I'd call mitsubishi direct and ask if they are going to release the new 402L model again. Surely if there is a demand for it they would.

Just picked one of these up and it seems to be refusing to cool. What am I missing? Tried turning it off for a while, turned back on. Nothing
Have you adjusted the knobs on the inside and removed all of he plastic wrapping?

Can mitsubishi fridge doors be reversed
Am not sure, I didn't ask that question.
Can the door be reversed?
I love this fridge but I’m finding it quite noisy. Does anyone else have this problem?
No, I actually find mine super quiet! Maybe there’s a problem?
I was impressed with this fridge/freezer when I saw it in a shop yesterday but forgot to look at the door opening mechansim. Could someone tell me please if the door opens flush on the hinge side or does it need a couple of cms of space to fully open. I have limited cabinet space. Many thanks.
The top door opens flush with the side panel. Both bottom areas are drawers so should not be a problem.
Thanks for that. It will save me a 40 min drive to check it out.
Hello, Is Onyx black steel? Is it just a name of a colour or it is a different material?
I had my heart set on getting one of these fridges mainly because of the vegetable drawer & swayed by the CHOICE recommendation. However, my son purchased one 6 months ago and they are very disappointed in the vegie drawer which they now use for drinks etc because the vegies do not stay crisp for long. I called Mitsubishi and they advised I would have to keep the vegetables in plastic bags as recommended in the manual. Does anyone have any experience with this? Thanks.
I had the same experience but since using plastic bags or containers, the problem was solved and find vegetables last a long long time. Overall very happy with the fridge and find the crisper draw great
I am having a problem removing the toe grille so that I can pull the fridge out. Is it connected somewhere? PS I love the fridge.
Just give it a sharp pull... It's a push fit item... Good luck !
Hello,
I am unable to get the ice maker to work. Do I just fill up the container and put it in? I have turned to pump to the on position. How long on average does it take for the ice to make?
Thank you
Where is the marker for limiting water to make ice? How many times can you refill the water for ice? I sometimes get water collecting outside at the bottom of the water container box in the fridge.
Hi Carolyn, Please refer to page 9 of your user manual (available to download here: external link . There is a line on the side of the water container to fill up to. Remove the container from the fridge, top up the water to the fill line, dry all around the outside of the container, and put it back in the fridge. Maybe some water has spilled outside of the container.
Are you filling the container while it is still in the fridge?

I can't open your link to the user manual. However, my problem is finding the line on the water container. Is the line on the short or long side of the container?
Hi Carolyn, Sorry, there was an error in the link I sent you. Please try this link: external link The water "full line" is on the side of the lid recess, on the top of the water container. Please refer to this photo (please excuse the Japanese writing, as we are using our original pre-production sample fridge): external link
Hope this helps.
If you still can't find it, please let us know.
