Practically Perfect With One Gripe – I had seen this fridge at a friend's place and instantly noticed its unique styling and practicality. It's sleek, slim and wholly unassuming yet has a strong presence. I believe this model has been discontinued (replaced by the 450L version, I think) but it has been the perfect size for a single to two-person household. Although the middle… Read more
drawer is designed to keep keep veggies crisp, it's also the perfect size to keep a few bottles of white or mixers if you're feeling like a gin and tonic or bourbon and Coke.
The top compartment is a good size and the shelves are adjustable - they even split in half so you can store taller items/bottles etc without having to remove the entire shelf. The lighting is sufficient and the temperature dial is easy to reach. Doors and draws open and close as expected and with ease.
A standout feature is the in-built ice cube maker. I always try to avoid fridges that need to be plumbed into the wall, so to have the ice cube maker self-contained is truly awesome. Fill it up with water, put it back in the compartment and boom - ice cubes (it make take a few hours because of physics).
However, if I had to nitpick at anything, it's that the freezer compartment doesn't have a light, which is mostly fine unless you live in a space where natural light doesn't fill your kitchen or don't you always have the lights on. That said, the freezer space is pretty generous and has two compartments - as well as the ice-cube tray and included ice scoop (can you tell I love the ice-cube making function?).
It runs quiet and keeps stuff cold. And makes its own ice. Highly recommend.
Great Buy – This is the best fridge I have owned. The seperate crisper draw works well. It is quiet when running and storage fits my need perfectly. The ice maker works well without the fuss of some fridges. Have had this model for over a year so have had time to fully review. Show details
Excellent fridge. Door sheves break easily, but easy to replace – Greast design. Easy to seperate and organise different styles of food, meat, veggies cheeses etc. *Very narrow for tight spaces. *multiple hight/width options for many fridge gap sizes. *No plumbing required for icemaker. * external vegie drawer Just refill the easy refill tank at front and fridge automatically drops ice into the ice tray. Needs fefilling every couple of days. Show details
A great fridge ruined by poor LED lighting – I wish I could give this fridge a higher rating, but the lighting is horrible. There's a vertical strip of LEDs placed on the rear wall of the main compartment. The LEDs glare in your face when you open the fridge, and at the same time don't provide sufficient light for your items. Everything is in shadow. If the LEDs were 'warm white' colour… Read more
(more towards the colour of traditional fridge lights), perhaps it might not look so stark and gloomy.
The silly LED placement means if you place any items in the middle of the shelves, you will greatly reduce the already poor light. Lighting is one thing you can't see when buying a fridge, because most fridges are not plugged in at the store unless they're top-of-the-range units. I didn't expect it to be so poor, especially after seeing other similar-sized fridge brands that have better LED lighting. And of course, Mitsubishi's advertisement images for this fridge are basking in beautiful light, with every item on the shelf perfectly lit.
Apart from the lighting, I really like this fridge. I love that the bottom two sections are drawers, which makes it particularly easy to rummage around in the freezer. I wasn't sure if the ice maker would get any use, but it has actually proven itself to be very convenient and we use it all the time. Because we don't have to mess with ice trays, it's much quicker and easier to add ice to drinks and even tap water.
The vertical side handle/indent on the main door is also very convenient rather than just a bottom handle. We purposely chose this version (CX) instead of the glass door version (CGX), since the glass door model did not have this side handle.
The CX series has been replaced in 2022 (such as the MR-CX450ER instead of MR-CX450EJ). Mitsubishi Electric advised me that they are essentially the same overall model aside from some very slight differences.
If it weren't for the lighting, I'd give this 5 stars. I really like the 3 tier, bottom mount design with drawers, and it was very difficult finding another fridge like this that wasn't ridiculously large. So far we haven't had any problems with shelving or issues with cooling. But every time I open the fridge, I'm greeted by that horrible lighting.
Love the ergonomic drawers! – Can't fault this fridge after 4 months. It's compact and ergonomic. We the drawers for the fruits & veg and freezer. I can't imagine going back to using a regular fridge. It's enough for a family of two and a half and keeps all of our food cold. The ice maker is very convenient and gets a lot of use. From looking at other reviews I can see that… Read more
the door shelves might crack if you try to force large bottles in there or too many objects as it appears to be made from a brittle plastic.
We have not had any issues though. If the above sounds OK to you I would highly recommend this fridge.
Perfect size for small fridge cavity space! – Needed to purchase a small fridge for my new apartment which has a very small fridge cavity space. This one fits perfectly and looks great. I love, love, love the separate vegetable drawer - so convenient. Show details
great product – This is a great fridge. Whisper quiet and compact. It’s my first bottom mount freezer and while it has a smaller fridge space, I have to keep reminding myself it has a separate fruit and vege crisper which is actually quite large. It takes a bit of getting used to but so far it’s all good. Show details
Bought this fridge in April 2021. Through the freezer drawer everything is easier accessible – Temperature is consistent across all compartments and the fridge is really easy to open and close, we wanted a highly efficient fridge and it is very efficient. I can highly recommend!
disappointing – Not overly cold and the shelves keep breaking. We are on our second round of shelving. Shelves are cheap and not good quality plastic. The front of the fridge look cheap and scratches, dents easy. Not happy with the purchase, however one positive is the ice maker! That has been designed welln and is a geat fuction. Show details
Very good, but it's got a rattle noise – I bought this because I like Mitsubishi....all my Aircon systems are Mitsubishi. It's a good frij, well designed, although better use of space possible (see Benito's review on Appliances Online site). So, overall I'm happy but the motor has developed a bit of a rattle that's getting increasingly annoying. I guess I need to call their customer… Read more
service.
I called their customer service and it was properly fixed within 7-10 days.....very quiet since then.
Perfect for a small family – This fridge looks fantastic and fits far more in it than I expected. The best feature is the internal ice maker. I wanted a small fridge with a smooth door that could make ice but didn’t think it existed. It does! The seperate fruit and veg draw saves loads of room inside the fridge. I’ve had it for several months. No problems mechanically and no issues fitting everything in the fridge but I do use a chest freezer for bulk stuff. Priced right. Show details
Love the way you can organise your food! – I love this fridges because it has different compartments with regulated temperatures. I have my vegetables divided from the cheeses/salumi and when I buy fish there's a special compartment. Love also the ice maker. Perfect for a small family Show details
A simply wonderful and practical fridge – My sister had a Mitsubishi 3 door - the best designed fridge I had ever seen, so I bought one too when it came time to upgrade. I love the separate vege draw and the visibility of everything stored in the upper compartment. I also chose Onyx black - paid a bit extra but it looks very stylish in a white kitchen. Show details

Excellent – Very quiet Great storage Love the veggie drawer Easy to keep clean This is easily the best fridge I have ever owned. Perfect for two adults. Being bale to separate the veggies form the rest of the products is excellent as it allows us to better organise our meals. The freezer takes a bit to get used to, but it works well. And id I mention how quiet it is. It just purrs. Show details
Love it! – We couldn't live without this fridge now that we have it! The continual ice maker is unique to Mitsubishi fridges in the way that it doesn't require plumbing and makes a continual amount of ice in the tray inside the freezer. The dedicated vegetable and fruit drawer is great for keeping odours from other meat and foods from your fresh produce. Show details
Best Fridge ever – I used to have an LG fridge, till last year, decided to upgrade. The best decision, ever made. This Mitsubishi fridge is excellent. It's got a separate vegetable drawer, just for veggies and an Ice maker. Unbelievable, ice-maker in such a small fridge. Maintains good temperature in all the compartments. It is quiet. It need a bit of work on cleaning, which i don't mind. Show details
