Mortein Flea Bombs

Next to useless, almost as many fleas 2 days later – Next to useless. Used 3 bombs on our large animal room with concrete floor. Kept the doors and windows closed for the whole day and overnight. 2 days later, still almost as many fleas as when we started the process. Really disappointed with these appalling results. Don't waste your time or money with this Mortein product. Show details
False Advertising on can – Living on a remote island with shipping at bare minimum, only had this stuff to use. So, following the instructions on the can have sprayed between regular intervals, vacuuming in between. The fleas appear to be healthier than ever. "Protects up to 9 Months." Clearly written on the can??? Is this false or what? Maybe time for ACCC to step in.… Read more
Tried other products no luck either. Having done a course in chemical handling now called Safe handling of vet medicines, it says not to use the same medium over and over...well guess what they have been selling this same product for years Permethrine is no longer as effective as it once was. This company needs to up its lab testing and product effectiveness. They are welcome to come and collect our fleas as we still have some healthy ones available... To add I got desperate and spread some salt through the house...that worked, and I am going to do that again. Keep your product. Waste of money.
I need to add when I said tried other products... That was products in the Mortein Range. Which has the same chemical compounds.
fleas still there after 3 bombs – 3 three bombs in the same room at once and the fleas are still there. Won't be using this brand again and can't recommend it. A waste of time and money as I'll have to do it all over again. Show details
Useless! – Used two bombs today's apart in room with fleas. No improvement after first bomb. Slight decrease in fleas after second bomb but really disappointed with this product and wo tbe using it again. Show details
Not working like before – They used to work like magic, they must have changed formula, now the current golden can not working.if U happen see the old red cans. U found treasure. Mortein, change back to old formula please!I'm trying other brand now Show details

Very desperate as son got infected bites already. 2 days later, son saw 2 fleas on the bed. Bedsheets are freshly laundered! It didnt work!!! This was not like this the last time I used the same brand. Show details
Entire house bombed 3x still full of fleas – After bombing the entire house 3 times, following the instructions perfectly and using extra cans, I’ve once again walked into a house with fleas alive and biting. I tried morteins “natural” bomb, insect bomb and flea bomb, waited the stated time frame and none had any effect. Never had this issue a few years ago when using Moreton bombs so… Read more
believe they must have changed the formula. The only one not scratching is the dog because his flea treatment actually works! Very disappointed
Absolutely useless wasted my money – I used one of these bombs this afternoon. Never again. The trigger does not work. Would not lock in. Tried to rig it so that trigger stayed locked in to place, to no avail. Total waste of money and time. I purchased a pack of three. Assuming i cant return the two unused cans for a refund. Not at all impressed.
mortein flee bombs – when you use a flee bomb don't vacuum must leave and give it time to work give 2nd treatment a week later no vacuum fleece gone not enough words must ramble on
This product is double useless – This product is double useless came back home 4 hours later after spray and find cockroaches playing around like nothing ever sprayed don't waste your money i wish to have my money back
Terrible – After bombing my house with a few extra cans than needed and keeping it locked up for 3 days still have a major flea infestation. My daughter is being eaten alive. Fleas are jumping on her constanly Total waste of money and time. Very disappointing.
Kills fleas... that's a joke! – Do not buy this product as it DOES NOT kill fleas and is an utter waste of money. I doubled the cans I should've used and still had a rampant flea infestation.
Morton purpose to kill coachroches for six months they dont they sell through coles and stop you fro – So when you complain they put up things like this limited words to use I'm told on this phone I'm not allowed but in morning I'm going coles and complain

So far so good – I have read others' reviews. It appears they all have had similar experiences. But there may have been several reasons for the product failing. (I am not a Mortein employee). We used the product for our flea-infested flat. They were everywhere, in our bed, kitchen floor, etc. Put 4 bombs out, 1 for each room, even kitchen. We didn't vacuum. … Read more
We didn't want to take any chances of sucking up any of the product in hopes it would be more effective. Secondly, if you're going to vacuum up fleas that aren't yet quite dead then you will have a chamber-full of fleas in your vacuum busting to come out. And if you do vacuum them up be sure to empty the chamber or bag outside away from your door. The can does say it will take up to a few weeks before they're all terminated. We did see one flea struggling, but not jumping. Anyway - early days yet, so we'll just have to wait and see. But so far so good.
Operate with Instruction – It works effectively only if you read the instruction and do exactly as they say. After each spray close every window and door for at least an hour or two, then see for yourself for the rest of the time. However, host must be treated at the same time otherwise it is futile. Btw, they have changed packaging from purple to brown.
Didnt work at all – A useless product that has no effect. Used 6 and nothing happened, this is a small apartment. Definitely just a scam product, would not recommend to anyone. Do not buy.
Mortein flea bombs – I brought 4 packets. Let them all off. Did what packets say came back still had fleas and other insects. Very disappointed. Made no difference. There where still cockroaches and spiders. Didn't kill none. Not sure if we just got a bad batch but it was as if we didn't do it. We brought them from Bunnings.
Save your Money or Buy another brand – Bombed our place twice. First seem to do nothing but make the fleas angrier. 2nd dose still didn't work despite doubling the amount recommended & they are still angry. My poor Child has been the main target, so very disappointed as these things are not cheap. Shame on you Mortein Fleas can still be seen.
below average – I bought the mortein flea device and used them / it worked in one room and not in the other room then the fleas re grouped and figured out I tried to poison them so 1 flea bit on the back of the legs then the other flea that somehow survived the control device bit on.the ankle and went to re group back in other room then after that one flea… Read more
hitched a ride to a totally different room then I used another control device there and it didn't work properly / my suggestion is to save your money to buy a mortein cockroach and flea control device or buy some growth inhibitor surface spray
Some powder treatments can also help to treat fleas
This worked for us! – And no, I don't work for Mortein. I've used the Flea Bombs and the Control Bombs, and they've always worked. My poor cat had the worst flea infestation ever, and within two days of bombing and treating her, she (and we) were sane again.
Terrible – Not worth the $$$. Spend so much time moving around and cleaning up. Nothing change. Also tried the other Brand - same. Waste of money. I'm trying Borax at the moment.
There are fleas in my bed :( – We used this product 2 weeks ago. Whole house, and treated animals. Animals aren't getting bitten, they've selected a new target... Me. Waste of time and money.

Disastrous – Hi there, i am posting this as a warning! Our lovely nearly 15 year old labrador "roxy" was put to sleep on december 17th due to having cancer. She had never shown any signs of having fleas and had been regularly treated to prevent fleas. The night of her dying, i had four fleas 'jump' on me - ick!!! The following day i went crazy and vacuumed… Read more
like a mad woman, moved all the furniture, washed all the soft furnishings and bedding, sprayed underneath all furniture, beds and around skirting boards with mortein surface spray and then set off a mortein flea bomb in every room of the house. I followed this up with wild vacuuming every day and ongoing spraying of the skirting boards etc. Job done - or so i thought!! But... On christmas night, after spending the day with our family, my kids and i came home to a house jumping with fleas - ahhhhhh!!!! My poor 13 year old daughter has suffered the most with more than 50 bites on her legs that have swelled up and look red and infected. I spent boxing day in a frenzy of washing, vacuuming, moving furniture, spraying, spraying, spraying and more spraying. I then set off more mortein flea bombs. For the past week i have done nothing except vacuum, wash, spray and clean - and still the fleas were jumping. That chemical gunk i have been spraying like crazy doesn't touch them - they still just keep bouncing. It is the worst!! I have never felt so utterly defeated. I have now spent well over $250.00 on mortein products that did zippidy-do-da to the fleas. As a single mum, this was the money that i had set aside for the school holidays - now i have no money for holiday activities - like going to the movies, going to the beach etc - and the fleas were unaffected. We haven't been even able to stay in the house and have been sleeping at friends - we are flea refugees!! Last night i read about borax and in desperation, i spread the borax powder all over my house. It looks like it has snowed inside but this will be easily cleaned up tomorrow with my trusty dyson!! This morning i can see that borax is finally doing what the gunk didn't do and that the fleas are nuked!!. I can see dead ones everywhere and the ones that are still alive can't jump like they were yesterday. Borax is way better than mortein and is much cheaper. I just spoke to the mortein man on their 'contact us' line who said that i must have fleas in the wall cavity or under the house and need to get a professional exterminator in. When i explained that i was concerned that the mortein products didn't seem to affect the fleas but the borax did - he just didn't understand and fobbed me off. I am soooooo upset that i have spent all my money because i trusted the mortein brand when i could have saved it all and just bought borax initially. I feel like i have wasted my precious holiday time cleaning instead of being with my children doing things like going to the park, riding bikes or just watching a movie together. I am devastated. Soooooo - here is my hard learned lesson - if you ever discover that your house has some unwelcome fleas - do not waste yor money and time on mortein sprays and flea bombs. They do not work. Go straight to borax - it's cheaper and it really gets to the fleas!!
Waste of money – This product didn't work for me. I used four bombs in our one bedroom apartment but unfortunately the flees reappeared after only four days. I followed the instructions very carefully and took into account the correct amount of cans needed to fill the total volume of the apartment. We have also been treating our house cat with Advance and used a flee spray around the apartment. Very disappointed with the results. Price Didn't work
Didn't work – I used 9 bombs in a 3 bay shed fleas are still their after nearly 2 weeks then purchased mortein "professional" outdoor spray and used the lot in the shed and now 3/4 days later still have fleas. So I cant say much for this product and will be looking elsewhere for a solution. The price was OK but if the product doesn't work its a waste of money and time It didn't work still have fleas
Maybe I got different results because mine's an indoor apartment flea infestation left behind from… Read more
My savior (So far!) – So it turns out that we had a crazy flea infestation for a month without knowing about it, left behind from a cat that moved out - the cat was mainly living in my room so I got the worse bites, but I thought it was my eczema acting up so didn't do anything about it for a month. Then my housemates started getting bitten, but none of them had… Read more
reactions like mine and my bf didn't even feel itchy with his bites! They also seem to like me and one other housemates blood much, much more than the other 3. Since we're poor, we tried the DIY flea bombs from Mortein. First time setting it off (combined with cleaning eg. vacuuming) worked - then I bombed my room only every day, but 2 days later I got bitten again - I think they must have come from the living room though, and must have been the adult fleas that were protected in the cocoon stage when it went off. We haven't got bitten since, but probably because we set another one off and cleaned about 4 days after I got bitten, then another one 5 days after. When I say clean I mean bleach, vacuum, laundry, the works - and I threw away my blanket, my bath mats (because the cat used to lie on it), and basically everything I could that had cat hair on it. Found a bunch of dead fleas in the carpet which is gross. Hoping it wont return, heard it can take up to 6 weeks so the game plan is to repeat this bomb and cleaning cycle once a week for 6 weeks, then we're getting a pro steam cleaner in to make sure. Will update if it doesn't work....
PS. Cover your whole body and esp wear tight socks to minimize bites for the first bombs - worked for me. Saw a bunch of dead fleas! Helped me sleep in peace. Still was bitten 2 days after 1st bomb but this might be normal.
Works, but you need to cover all your bases – After getting a new Kitten, we had a huge flea outbreak and everyone in the family were getting bitten by fleas. They were everywhere. We tried treating the situation using flea treatments on the cat, but we needed to use the flea bombs to get rid of the infestation in the house. The bombs aren't the cheapest for the 2 bombs but i guess if you… Read more
want rid of the fleas you need to pay it.
You have to vacate your house for a couple of hours while the bombs do their job. If you have indoor pets you either have to put them outside or take them with you .
I think overall, the bombs do work, but we needed to do about 4 overall to get it to work properly and it seemed to take a while to be totally flea free. But you can't just use the bombs, you have to make sure your pet is completely treated, that your bedding etc is all washed and flea free, to make sure that you are completely covering your bases. There aren't many flea bombs on the market, so i guess unless you want to get a pest exterminator which is costly, it's a good way to go, but you will probably have to do it more then once and buy a few, especially if you have a big house. Can be effective if you use it as part of a complete flea control treatment. Takes a few cans to be totally effective.
