cashless and a surcharge, – went to buy a product in balcatta WA store, would not accept cash, fair enough but then had the cheek to want to charge me a surcharge for using eftpos card, I refused and went elswhere, no more MSY for me. Show details
Don't bother – Went down to purchase a laptop from the online catalogue, asked to buy one and just got a blunt "no, none in stock" since then i have called up about two other laptops which they have advertised and are also out of stock.. pretty disappointing. Rude staff and no stock Show details
Great Prices and Staff – Their website is fairly straightforward, although I admit it could be a bit more user friendly, it still does exactly what's needed. There's not tonnes on display and it isn't overly fancy, neither of which are relevant if you want to buy good technology and know what you want. The product range is quite broad, the quality is always really high,… Read more
and the pricing is great. The staff members are always great at their job, so much so that every time I go in I'm glad to see them. I highly recommend MSY Technology.
hmmm bit dodgy – went to their website to compair it to pc case gear and well not very good website, very chunky messy interface price are not cheap but not over the top can get fro over east for same price overall, loose the handling fee and maybe, by the way the webpage needs a big overhaul Show details
worst – video card break down with in 2 months, I could not use computer for 4 weeks, because they have to send the card to NSW to get repaired. Then After 1 week it broken again, I did not want to wait 4 weeks again, so I bought new video card. but after 1 year later my hard drive broken, I went recovery shop, they said they need $800 to fix it. and few… Read more
weeks ago the power box burn out. I did save $200 because they are cheaper. but at end I lost my data my video card, and power supply within 3 weeks, 1 year and 2 years.
I had dell PC for 7 years, have not had any problems.
MSY will provide the goods if you have researched its name, catalog number (if available) and availa – When I go to MSY stores in WA, I research the goods that I want to buy before I go there, so they know what it is, what the catalog number is, or a specific description, and THEN I make sure that they actually have it available at the store (easily done online). It is up to you to know what you are after. If you tell them that you want to buy a… Read more
hard disk, then you need to know its size, make, model, manufacturer and so on, so they do not need ask you the details. I have found out that their prices are nearly always better than other suppliers. Only problems I had is that it is difficult to get them on the phone, and you cannot save their web pages in PDF format without the text being overwritten, but the Web pages saved in HTML format are all right.
As a computer tech. Price as all I need and that's what I get – MSY is a no frills place. This means do NOT go to them if you want advice. You go to them after you have researched what you want and buy it and in return you get cheaper parts. But this is not what happens. Normally what happens is people see they are cheap and then go there and want to take up 30-40mins of their time asking them questions… Read more
whilst potential customers stand in the queue waiting.
If you don't know what you want to buy, do not go to MSY and certainly don't get upset coz you didn't get service.
My experience with MSY apart from the regular people above that you get there, is the guys are fast at finding the parts they are quick to find a similar replacement part if they are out of stock. If you order on their website for store pickup there hasn't been a time that I can remember were I have got there and they have had to tell me that the website stock count was wrong and they don't have it in stock.
Terrible service, average prices – I went to their store to purchase a monitor, and when I spoke to the salesman, they were flat out rude. I asked if I could see the monitor, after which he told me to go to another store (Harvey Norman I think he said), look at the monitor and then come back. This was worth $700, and monitor quality is very subjective, so obviously I wanted to… Read more
see it before spending so much. I then asked if I can take it home and return it if its unsuitable for my needs. He told me very sharpley "its not like its $10, its worth too much to me, no, we cant let you do that.
We make little money on the monitors because we sell it cheaper than anywhere else." At that point I walked out of the store, and purchased it for the same price at a store close by, PLE computers, where I was able to view the screen and the friendly salesperson said that I could return it if it was unsuitable.
Horrible service, very rude salesmen
Reliable low prices – I buy 90% of my computer gear from MSY in Balcatta in WA. The prices are generally the lowest in Perth and the service is satisfactory. I have built around 20 computers using components mostly from MSY. Usually the only n to buy elsewhere is if they have no stock or its for a more exotic item they don't stock. have had to return a few… Read more
components due to failure and they have a reasonable turnaround on repairs, usually a couple of weeks but sometimes up to a month.
The staff are OK. They either don't speak very good English or tend not to know enough to give an average nerd any useful advice. Do your homework before buying as their advice will be basic at best.
If your after constantly low prices then MSY is for you.
If you need good before and after sales service then pay more and shop elsewhere. Low prices, decent range Avarage service, don't stock more exotic items, don't stock the latest items.
