Horrible experience process credit card without authorization and product is cheap & faulty blinds with holes installed. Had to go to VCAT to get resolution and still struggled to get rectification.
Liar Liar Liar – They are total liars and impersonators trying to cheat every cent from you! MTC Blinds or Blinds and Shades, which ever it is, AVOID THEM if you don't want heartache. I am so tired of them ripping me off not providing anything the promised. Felt the pain that everyone else did. Just don't bother, there is no hope if your blinds are not here yet. Advise is get your refund before it is too late!!

Shutters installed – I think they had significant supply problems and/or simply took on too many customers. Ordered shutters mid April 2014. Installed last week. Yes took much longer than promised but very happy with end result.
Perfection. They know their blinds – Got a full house of curtains off these guys a few years ago. I was very pleased with the consultation, quote, discount, quality of the blinds and the prompt delivery of the service. There were no hiccups. I've recommended this company to few professionals I interact with, who have been pleased with what has been installed in their offices. Warm friendly professional staff. Best and inexpensive – Best Company. I put my order on 5th November 2013 for Blinds and Plantation shutters. Blinds were flitted on correct time, but shutters became late. But I was told that it was due to some delay of products from overseas . But I felt the cheapest and No 1quality products. Reliable, Inexpensive

and took my address, so their walker doesn't do it again. But not Blinds & shades. I called up and got told, sorry won't happen again...OK would you like my address, so you know where not to stick your leaflets again? No. So how will you know for future? The response - "I said I'm sorry what do you want me to do, come worship you?!" Then I asked for the manager, got told he was the manager. So I asked who the owner of the business was, answer - "it's none of your business!". After going back and forth I just hang up, as clearly they don't care at all what they do and how they talk to people. It was such a simple thing, could have been sorted in 2 mins and me being satisfied. He chose to go the other way and be totally obnoxious. I can only assume after reading some of the reviews here, that the quality of their product is directly proportional to their customer service.
MTC Blinds now trading as blindsandshades.com.au – I can't believe i am reading all comments about MTC blinds. I got scammed as well but this time they are trading as blindsandshades.com.au. i ordered shutters and roller blinds in oct 2014 and still haven't heard from them. They keep telling me they will call me back but nothing. DO NOT BUY FROM Blindsandshades.com.au. They are from same dodgy people.
Bad quality Romans – our Romans started to come apart a few months after they were installed. The technician came round with duct tape to tape the ends together!!! Finally got them fixed but almost straight away they broke again. Very unhappy as I will have to go through the process of ordering and fitting blinds again (from another company of course) when this item should have ticked off my to do list.

Never again! – I too was promised outdoor blinds, paid 50% deposit and they did not deliver. Did not return calls and very rude. Mr Moorthy should be in gaol. Consumer affair did not assist me much. The bank did not assist at all. Yes, I would support a class action.

have walked away and never did any more business with them. Unfortunately they had a blind “twin shade” that no one else appeared to have so I gave them another chance, the time frame in delivery was not too bad but the follow-up on warranty/quality issues has been non-existent, I have rung them so many times and taken days off work in waiting for them to come and to be told excuse after excuse why they couldn’t come.
I am now seeking legal action on what I can do next as I believe MTC Blinds Factory Direct was trading whilst insolvent and when they took my money the credit card statement indicated another company called “Lo Margin Groceries” I assume this was done to hide the transaction from the ATO. I will seek a full refund of my money as the guarantee and reputation that I believed I was dealing with is nothing short of a lie and now I’m left with blinds that look terrible and embarrassed to use them.
I regret not dealing with reputable company and hope that Joe gets everything he deserves from whatever legal action/s he has coming his way. Maybe the expensive Mercedes might be a thing of the past if he isn’t locked up in gaol for what he has done.
good interest made on our deposit money – I ordered Plantation Shutters that were measured up by Joe who had bought a woman he was training along. Not happy customer – Had blinds fitted one blind is fraying after a couple of months also never fitted a dual connecter paid for have made several calls to have MTC they promise to call me back they never do. finally made appoint for installer to come never turned up made a second appoint & did not turn up again. Ripped Off Beware – Another ripped of frustrated customer. Ordered shutters 8 months ago and was told they would have them installed in 8-10 weeks. Still have not received the shutters!! Rang several times and got told they were coming next month. No Refund given!! Since found out they have gone into receivership and trading under new name. Glad I found this site and that A Current Affair has done a story on MTC Blinds.

Ripped off over $5,000- Don't deal with this businessman- A con – Ordered blinds more than a year ago, never delivered product. lie after lies , everyone at MTC BLINDS liars, all trained to be liars and conned. Shutters – Well I am another ripped of client, they came to measure and quoted for shutters he told me he has been with MTC for 15yrs he was the best in the industry and MTC supplied the best bass wood for shutters and ask me to organise my deposit and then the shutters will be ordered then i heard he left the company when i tried to contact him for help shame on you knowing what you where up to..by the way the rating is terrible....

Have not delivered plantation shutters – The salesman joe light measured up and assured me he was the best in the industry he said he has been with mtc blinds for 15 years,. He quoted and told me the shutters will be ordered when i pay my deposit, whiich i did early june like everyone else its been lie after lie.
Don't get caught – We bought the blinds from this company owner became very friendly and helpful, Conned me for $35,000 and never returned the money back. This is his art, real con artist live on other people money him and his wife both are are real scum bags please stay away.Company keep changing the name because of the bad reputation. our money and not providing us with the product. Last week i received a letter saying that we would receive a refund on our deposit of $1,700 paid in cash. But as expected, they still havent refunded us our money. We went there on Saturday to 1/42 Green Street Doveton, but the gates were shut. I am assuming MTC Blinds and shades is also going down too. I have heard that they are opening up in Carrum Downs.... Keep your eye out everyone. Dont let them rip anymore people off.

I have just found out that MTC Blinds also known as Blinds and Shades have moved to Address: FACTORY 1/83 BOUNDARY ROAD CARRUM DOWNS VIC - 3201. They still have not provided us a refund for shutters ordered in March. They sent us a formal letter 4 weeks ago advising that they will provide refund. But this still hasn't happened. I will now be going to the new office to ask for a refund. Nava Moorthy (the director) featured on A Current Affairs last Friday night in relation to the failed orders. He gave refunds to the 6 people who went with the TV crew but we are all still yet to receive a refund. Please do not let him get away with this. I am owed $1,700 for shutters that never came.

BEWARE of this company – We placed our order in February this year and are still very patiently waiting for them to arrive. Evidently they are stuck in container 81 and, after speaking to other unsatisfied customers whose products are also in container 81, it must have sunk like the titanic or our other theory is it has not yet left China. Awful service – This company has changed ownership and the quality of the product is terrible. Blinds were installed badly and were damaged and of poor quality even after they were replaced for the second time. Installer never turned up to appointment and when they did the second time they didn't seem to know what they were doing Nothing Poor quality

answered my call a fortnight ago and said "go to your bank and ask them to chase up the deposit you paid. A lot of customers got their deposit back." I did not know what she meant by going to the bank - I made my payment using my visa. Did anyone got their deposit back through their bank/s?

Very unreliable – They have cancelled an installation booking 3 times at very short notice. I have been on the phone and get cut off and will need to ring them back. focussed until he gets his 50% and then you're on your own if you have any problems. The people from MTC blinds are unreliable and unhelpful. They will never apologise if they are at fault. The only nice, helpful person was the fitter who was probably a contract worker. There is no follow up from the company or from the salesperson to see if you are happy with the service.

Following are contact log regarding the installation of shutters:
- 07/08/13 (the date of 8 weeks due) I called MTC Blinds (spoke to Marina) and have been told my order has already been shipped from China and will confirm the arrival date later.
- 21/08/13 (the date of 10 weeks due) I called their office again (spoke to Marina) and was been told the shutters are still on the sea and might arrive by the end of Sep.
- 09/09/13 I called their office the third time (spoke to Marina) and they still cannot give me the exact arrival date of my order. Marina told me the reason of delay is the previous ship was delayed so that the ship for my order was delayed as well.
- 10/09/13 (13 weeks since I placed order) I wrote a formal complaint email to MTC Blinds to let them know that I want 15% discount on my order and if no agreement is reached by the end of the week I will cancel my order. Joseph replied offering me $150 discount and told me my order cannot be cancelled because of the terms on the quote. In his email he also said my order will be in Melbourne 3rd week of September 2013.
- 17/09/13 I lodged complaint to Consumer Affairs Victoria. I request MTC Blinds to refund my deposit ($4,100.00) plus interests attracted.
- 20/09/13 Consumer Affairs Victoria confirmed MTC Blinds agreed to refund and MTC Blinds will contact me on next Monday 23rd Sep.
- 23/09/13 Dashanti from MTC Blinds contacted me and said they will refund my deposit 10 days later and no interest will be paid. I requested the refund to be processed within 2 days and also the interest need to be paid. Dashanti said the business owner will contact me to discuss this. No one contacted me after that.
- 26/09/13 I called MTC Blinds requesting the refund to be made by the end of the business day.
- 09/10/13 I called MTC Blinds to request the refund but Dashanti said they are not able to refund me.
- 10/10/13 I called MTC Blinds to request the refund but Dashanti said they are not able to refund me, and she promised the business owner Moorthy will contact me. No on contacted me after that.
- 15/10/13 My friend Jacqueline called MTC on behalf of me to request the refund. She requested the business owner to contact me within 2 days and otherwise we will contact ASIC to advice the situation.
Then I lodged VCAT application and went to hearing on 16/01/14 at Ringwood Magistrates' Court. No one from MTC Blinds appeared. After two weeks I received VCAT order shows "The Tribunal orders that the respondant Nadaraja Moorthy Navaratham must pay the applicant the sum of $4100.00".
But up til now (05/08/14) I still haven't received payment. VCAT said I might need to send sheriff to MTC Blinds and take their properties but it will cost around $400 each time I send the sheriff there.
This is my terrible story with this terrible business. nothing

Now its called blinds and sheets - still the same rubbish Everything – The worst company anyone can deal with, from the owner to all the office staff lies every step of the way. Waited over 16 weeks to get my shutters installed when promised 9, been waiting another 12 weeks for a repaire. Most of installing staff leave the company in 8 to 10 weeks and we have to start the process as they seems to loose documents frequently. Im so fed up and frustrated nothung seems to surprise me with this company.
The worst company ever to deal with – I ordered twin shades back on the 4th of April , and still waiting , when on their contract they state a 4- 5 week delivery, and the worse thing about , they never contact you , you have to keep chasing them up. pay this dodgy manufacturer in china to get them on the shipping container and then they are going to charge me another $300-400 to have them installed. They have just lied, lied, lied. I spoke to the sales rep, joe who told me he was qutting at the end of this week as he hasn't had his commission paid for months. salesman that he would chase up and refund my deposit. I myself contacted Mr Moorthy 6 times asking for my refund and he actually replied and promised he would refund. 5 weeks later and still no money. Beware of this company as they have shut one bankrupt organisation and opened another!
