Worst straighteners EVER

Worst straighteners I have ever owned stopped working after 6 months got a replacement and next set lasted 8 months. These straighteners are crap save yourself some money and go for a different brand Show details

Good design, poor reliability

I've had two of these. Neither has lasted more than 18 months. Customer service at Muk is average - quick to suggest what I can do but also to let me know this is a "good will" gesture - no it's not! It's a legal requirement.
But, if you can tolerate buying new straighteners every 18 months or so then these are amazing - I liked the minimal damage to my hair, I liked the auto shut off and I liked the temperature control.
However, for me, time to try a different brand. Show details

Trash, Won't last, won't get hot anymore. Makes a buzzing sound

I bought my wife this and just shocked with it dying a few years after. It always made a buzzing noise from day 1.
She straightens he hair maybe once or twice a month if that. So when you do the math, 20-30 uses and it's dead.
Would not recommend.
As she's so beautiful I'll go buy her another :) but not muk.

Going to buy a Hi-Lift Professional just like her hair dresser has uses. And it's cheaper and better for her hair with wide magnesium plates. Show details

Awful

The straightener itself is easy to use however it catches your hair in between the hot plates and the handle and rips the hair out. I have been trying to get this sorted via email and social media messages since December 29th 2022 and have not been receiving any response. It is now the 29th of June. The communication is also awful. Show details

Fabulous product and exceptional customer service

I purchased my original wide blade MUK straightener in Dec 22. I have very thick waves hair. The results from this straightener are amazing and very little damage to my hair from daily use.
My straightener had a fault and was turning off when the blades we together. MUK accepted the fault and replaced within the week of reporting. Exceptional customer service and an exceptional product. Highly recommended Show details

Does the job but better ones out there

Decided to give this a go after my Cloud 9 died. I have medium length wavy fine hair but it’s quite thick and I use a hair straightener daily so needed something that works well and will last. I used it for 2 months while my old one got repaired and I could not wait to go back to my Cloud 9. Although the Muk does the job I found it pulled on my hair a lot and took a lot longer to straighten than my Cloud 9, I can usually straighten it in 10mins but the Mail took me double the time. I like how quickly it warmed up and the free travel mat I got with it. I’ve kept it as a spare but certainly won’t be using it unless I have to. Show details

Beware ! this product badly damaged my hair

I purchased the MUK Straighter and dryer combo and after using it for about 5 months started to notice that it was damaging my hair. My hair became really dry, fuzzy, brittle and broke off in short layers. I was using it at the lowest setting yet it still fried the ends. It was the infra red that is used in both products. I have used a GHD straighter for many years with no issue. Once I realise what had happened I stopped using the MUK products and went back to my GHD. My hair is slowly repairing and growing back. I contacted MUK they didn't care and would not refund or return the product. Customer service not good!

Disappointed

Bought this two weeks ago, I usually only spend around $100 for a straightener but I lashed out and got this after reading the reviews. The first time I used it I was disappointed, it took twice as long to do my hair and it did not seem to straighten very well at all. I have fine hair and it usually straightens with ease. I persevered with it for two weeks but it did not get any better. I noticed the plates did not meet when closed and you can see daylight through them unless you squeeze hard and my hands were aching trying to get my hair to straighten. I returned it today and the shop attendant showed me another of the same model and it was the same. Going back to a cheapie I think. Show details

Love it so much

I've had this for years now and it is amazing! Heats up in less than a minute, straightens my hair with one swipe on each section and is lightweight (this one doesn't leave my wrist in pain after straightening my hair). Absolutely love it, well worth the price <3 Show details

I definitely recommend this product

This product is so easy and makes my hair so smooth. My hair can be very hard to manage but, this straightener makes it 20x easier. I use this product on a daily bases and do not know what I would’ve done. Mine is already 2 years old and still looks new. I am so happy with this product and I 100% recommend. Show details

Why did I wait so long to update!

I had owned a slimline GHD for around 5 years. I thought it was good at the time but looking back, it was hard to do long hair with and my hair would still go fuzzy. It was never sleek.
My GHD finally died and I purchased the Muk Style Stick 230-Ir Wide Plate. OMG it is sooooo much better than my GHD. My hair looks silky and unless the weather is particularly unforgiving, it stays that way!
Heats up quickly (I use 200), doesn’t pull my hair. Love it!
Definitely get a wide plate for long, thick hair!! Show details

Best straightener on the market

This hair straightener is one of a kind, whilst it works with your hair not against which minimises any kinks that other hair straighteners havent been able to avoid. With different heat selections for all types of hair or desired effect.
