good as the original GHD) then it just seemed to be losing its heat, so I switched to MUK after a recommendation from a friend. At first I thought it was great, my hair was a lot smoother than my old Cloud 9, but in the 9 months I've been using it I've realised my hair has gone to trash. The ends are fried, my hair never bounces like it used to and it just looks generally unhealthy literally all of the time. I have done everything humanly possible to try to repair my hair, from upgrading my hair dryer, switching heat protectants, using my straightener less, letting my hair dry naturally, using Olaplex, using K18, using a silk pillowcase, nothing works. Reducing the heat means the style doesn't hold at all, and curls never hold like they used to with the GHD & Cloud 9, I'll be lucky to get a full day out of a curl, with my old ones my hair would stay curly/wavy until I washed it 4-5 days later. I'll now be selling both of my Muk's and going back to Cloud 9, a 5 year lifespan isn't too bad if it means it won't trash my hair. I wish they would just make straighteners like they used to.

30 mins or so of not being used, the technology behind it seems to be far more advanced than our GHD. I have taken the below directly from the box: infrared lights imbedded in the irons ceramic plate to infuse a gentle heat deep inside the hair shaft. Effectively straightening hair with a single pass, whilst infusing hair with amazing shine, moisture balance and protection from thermal damage. It honestly works so so well and makes hair appear shinier and healthier. $150! My boss bought it for her daughter so I thought why not. I'm pleasantly surprised! My hair is usually wavy but thin. I like the fact that I can choose the heat setting & it leaves my hair glossy & straight. It also turns off after being inactive for 30mins. I use this straightener everyday - one morning as a full straighten then as a touch up the following morning etc (two day hair wash cycle). I would recommend this straightener. It doesn't come with a heat matt / carrier pouch or the holder that slides on to the end to keep the plates together (like GHD's) which is the only reason I gave it 4 out of 5 stars.

Also, it makes a buzzing sound which is meant to happen due to the infra red strip running down the middle of one of the plates - it is not in any way loud, do not be alarmed when you purchase.

Fabulous product and exceptional customer service – I purchased my original wide blade MUK straightener in Dec 22. I have very thick waves hair. The results from this straightener are amazing and very little damage to my hair from daily use. My straightener had a fault and was turning off when the blades we together. I definitely recommend this product – This product is so easy and makes my hair so smooth. My hair can be very hard to manage but, this straightener makes it 20x easier. Trash, Won't last, won't get hot anymore. Makes a buzzing sound – I bought my wife this and just shocked with it dying a few years after. It always made a buzzing noise from day 1. She straightens he hair maybe once or twice a month if that. So when you do the math, 20-30 uses and it's dead. Would not recommend. As she's so beautiful I'll go buy her another :) but not muk. Awful – The straightener itself is easy to use however it catches your hair in between the hot plates and the handle and rips the hair out. I have been trying to get this sorted via email and social media messages since December 29th 2022 and have not been receiving any response. It is now the 29th of June. hair a lot and took a lot longer to straighten than my Cloud 9, I can usually straighten it in 10mins but the Mail took me double the time. I like how quickly it warmed up and the free travel mat I got with it. I’ve kept it as a spare but certainly won’t be using it unless I have to.

Beware ! this product badly damaged my hair – I purchased the MUK Straighter and dryer combo and after using it for about 5 months started to notice that it was damaging my hair. straighter for many years with no issue. Once I realise what had happened I stopped using the MUK products and went back to my GHD. My hair is slowly repairing and growing back. I contacted MUK they didn't care and would not refund or return the product. Customer service not good! Use at own risk!

for two weeks but it did not get any better. I noticed the plates did not meet when closed and you can see daylight through them unless you squeeze hard and my hands were aching trying to get my hair to straighten. I returned it today and the shop attendant showed me another of the same model and it was the same. Going back to a cheapie I think.

power socket, but this is totally opposite. It took 15 seconds to heat up and it displays the heat counting up to your requirement which I thought was cool. There is a slight buzz which is the ionator working. Im redundant at the moment so it was a lot of money and review reading to spend but ITS WORTH IT.

Works on the tickets of hairs – I have very thick and coarse hair. I had many straighteners, but MUK is the only one that does the job strengthening my hear. It is making my hear sleek and shiny. I hade some that after a while heats up not only inside elements but the outside plastic. MUK is cold to touch on the outside and perfect set temp on the inside panels.
