MyAura Organics All Natural Deodorant Stick

I bought the coconut vanilla fragrance deodorant. But within a few hours I can smell my own body odour. The deodorant doesn’t do the one job it’s supposed to do. I regret buying a few bottles while they were on sale - because they’re not cheap. I am actually amazed at how poorly the product works. My armpits feel damp and sticky, and stinky too. got a whiff of the other armpit without the sweat rash that I realised something was up. After realising it was the deodorant it's actually still quite difficult to believe it isn't a gag-gift or something like that. EASILY the WORST deodorant of all time. I was thinking about all the strangers I'd crossed and was imagining if I had been aware of the situation and said something along the lines of, "I'm so sorry but it's actually the deodorant I'm wearing that's making me smell so horrific," they would've legitimately thought I was a crazy person. It's an altogether unbelievable level of greed to still be flogging this product after all of the negative feedback they've received about it. What a terrible company. At least I no longer smell horrific, I suppose.

the nature of the ingredients which doesn’t bother me as I enjoy using my fingertips to rub it in and massage the pits. I use the spray in conjunction with the stick deodorant if I need a top up or stronger odour control.

Summary: - natural based, conditions armpit as it has coconut in it. - works better after shower - hairless pits absorb more of the deodorant and is more effective with odour control and (I end up needing less) - can be flakey and needs a good rub in once’s you put it on your pits - can feel a bit of residue if you have too much on. - has more variety of deodorant from sticks, sprays and roll ons on the shelves to try

to this product but after 2-3 days I found the sweaty body odor smell so noticeable as to be intolerable.

So I went back to aluminium deodorants (i switched to mitchums 48 hour protection, which was a little cheaper and still effective at entirely suppressing sweat.) but felt conflicted about doing something that had potential ongoing negative health effects.

After some time I attempted again using Mitchum Natural Power Bamboo (0% aluminium), this time expecting the smell of my body odor, so a little more mentally prepared and found that after some time it lessened and by the end of the entire stick I no longer noticed my body odor.

I then switched back to this brand as I prefer the fruit/citrus smell to the baby powder/musk type smell of the aluminium free mitchums deodorant and it has now been no problem.

So what happened? I can't do a controlled test but my thoughts are: 1. After a very long time (years) of suppressing nearly any sweat smell its return in any amount was made extremely noticeable - so that even sitting at a computer doing low physical strain work meant for the first time I was able to smell my own "odor" and much like a hand that has been sitting in ice cold water, being placed into room temperature water, perceives that water as far hotter than it actually is- my brain was reading the odor as much stronger than it actually was.

2. "Aluminium-based antiperspirants work by blocking the sweat ducts, thereby reducing the amount of sweat that reaches the skin’s surface. Aluminium salts are soluble as long as the formulation is acidic (low pH). When they are applied to the skin and come in contact with sweat, the pH rises causing the aluminium salts to precipitate out and form a plug over the sweat glands. Sweat continues to be produced by the sweat gland but it just isn't able to reach the surface of the skin." So in addition to my nose being unused to any smell of sweat - there is probably actually MORE sweat reaching the skin surface - not more being produced - but more making it out of the sweat duct. Which would explain why early on it seems so overpoweringly funky.

Conclusion: I have found that after some time it is possible to adjust to these deodorants, with the caveat that it was a very mild summer this year and so I have not had a chance to strongly stress test it. Possibly a back up aluminium deodorant for times when you're really active would be necessary? If you don't sweat much anyway, maybe not?

to detox from the chemicals. I have been using this for 3-4 months now and I'm definitely a convert. My armpits are soft again, when exercising I make sure I put it on right before. No odours and chemical free. Just give it a few weeks and your body will adjust.

This is perfect last all day – This roll on is so much better then any other ones lasts all day till night not one sweat. It also has a nice flower fragrance that you don't need too spend so much money on. Show details

Better products out there and cheaper – Tried it for a couple of days,and seemed ok so bought 2 more on sale. First warm day when I was out and active, it didn't hide the odour as I could smell my armpit when I went to bed. Uncomfortable to apply, not effective (has caused me to leave work early due to smell) – I wanted to like this product but: 1) it’s so hard to apply, I don’t enjoy dragging it across my skin 2) it doesn’t work. On two occasions I’ve had to leave the office early because I was worried I smelt bad 3) I’ve given it several goes over a few weeks hoping that if I applied more it would work - but it hasn’t 4) if you reapply during the day your natural odour seems to catch onto the product, causing you to smell more. Show details

Not worth the money – This deodorant has an absolute disgusting smell when combined with body odour. It makes the smell 10 times worse. And it discoloured the underarm of my shirt. It does not glide on the skin when applying. And emailed the company about this and no reply. Show details

commented that I've never smelled of BO in our 3 years together until ive started using this product. It goes on gritty. The lid split within a couple of weeks. It leaves dreadful white marks on my clothing. Do. Not. Recommend. I'm going to go back to the O.G of natural deodorants (no pong).

Like sandpaper on my armpits – The texture is too firm, you have to apply with your hands rather than being able to roll it on. The smell is not for me either, a bit too “grandma”. smell was bad and I'm not a person who ever has had that smell top needed washing what a disappointment as a breast cancer survivor at the age of 78 I have used many products over the years and this takes the cake please lift your act I might add I have never left reviews before I don't want others to make the mistake I did I thought I had found a good product after less than one week of use the lid cross threaded and wouldn't go on properly I would be very happy to hear from management regarding this matter

Not happy with the roll on, but love the spray version – I bought the roll on because I loved the spray version and I was very happy with it no complaints at all,but with the roll on when I tried to use the winder to push it up and down it worked once, then I found it a bit dry and clumpy.
