Turned up to the event but was cancelled without notifying me. No one to contact what's going on. No refunds available. Waste of time and waste of money. COMPLETE SCAM!!!

Further to my previous review. Eventbrite has confirmed that organizer manage refunds - see the first attachment. The event was cancelled by MyCheekyDate, as such refund the ticket. The event has not been cancelled by Eventbrite and cancelled in the Eventbrite app. Therefore the merchant has nothing to do with this.

Despite initial schedule SNAFU's (had to be rescheduled twice) the final event ran rather well. The atmosphere was supportive between all contestants, well-oiled by the staff, and easy to reach (downtown Chicago), and the online setup (profile and that) easy to use. worked out for the best, but for the one detail which was completely out of the host's control. Due to the reschedule, the restaurant chosen was oppressively loud, but I lay that blame at the feet of the venue and the Kentucky Derby celebration ongoing at the time. While it didn't work out in terms of a matchup, I can mostly speak to the benefit of Cheeky Date, and don't regret the chance taken.

Made new friends – I have been to a few of these events. The people are what makes the event so it can vary time to time. However, the majority of the people, both male and female, seem pretty decent, with a genuine desire to find someone with a longer term view, based on the questions they asked and their overall demeanour. The organiser is very responsive with replying with his emails and that is always a huge help when issues arise eg one time the host for the event was delayed, so I sent an email to Troy the organiser, and within a few minutes, he replied promptly in writing and reassured us by email that the host was definately arriving soon, etc.

Overall each event was mostly a pleasant friendly experience, but of course, it’s luck of the draw who attends at that event, and whether you click with anyone, but why not try it once and see for yourself :)

The event started late (45 mins) but I had an enjoyable time. The venue was in a good location albeit a little hard to find but nice regardless. People were friendly. The only other complaint is having to use emails instead of getting someones phone number.

It was a really small amount of people. Some people had tickets for free to get the numbers up. There were people there that weren't in the age range and some were already in relationships.

Do not give these people your money. Update: after veiled threats from a combative customer service I finally got a refund for their cancelled event. I am updating my review to a 3 star to signify that I received my refund but only after a lot of unnecessary back and forth with a difficult customer service. Show details

SCAM SCAM SACM SCAM!!!!!!!! Purchase tickets through Eventbrite and the bar they had me go to was out of business the building was being renovated. This is definitely a scam I'm not sure about Eventbrite but mycheekydate is definitely a fly by night scam. I contacted my Bank's fraud department and disputed the charges. SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM!!!!!

This company needs management training and better systems – I paid for a matchup back in April of 2024. Engagement with "Mycheekydate" team is very limited, after reaching out numerous times, getting one potential matchup, cheekydate was not able to actually schedule or setup a date and did not proceed to try to re-engage. Speeddate's are pretty standard, there isn't much special about them regardless of how much they advertise saying they are. I think this is just another company trying to tap into the whole dating crisis American's are facing right now. Employee's seem to want to help, they just don't have great guidance and procedures on what to do or how to follow up.

Disappointing – Interesting experience. There were 6 men to choose from on the speed dating. I wish I saved my cash as I spent over $140. $62 entry, $8 beer, $38 dinner, parking $8, petrol $20 and my time. I did meet a couple of lovely women whom I had a decent conversation.

Better Options in Meeting Women – If you're looking to meet women who are genuinely interested in connecting and not just socializing, I recommend spending that $60 online. You'll have a better chance of finding people who are looking for something more meaningful and are open to building a relationship.

Worst speeddating – Horrible ! Bad dates all around the woman at the event are there just to talk wich you could do for free at a coffee shop. The host could care less , the venue sucked ! 40 dollars robbed from me stay away

I have gone to a few speed dating events but like other users said they get cancelled very regularly so it is quite frustrating...

The very next day, I received an email saying the event was cancelled due to a number of cancellations. Ofcourse I was furious with this outcome, but they used that stupid “out of our control excuse” and refused to provide a refund. I then requested to be added to the next event, which was also cancelled due to the same weak excuse… In total between Jan – Apr I was added to an event five (5) times which were all was cancelled by them and wouldn’t provide a refund. The last event they tried to add me to was one in Sydney, which is strange as I am in Brisbane.

I urge you, even if they claim they wont provide a refund, you have a right if they have cancelled afew times without your doing. Its been 6 months and I just received the full refund. Just go to your bank and supply emails of these [Content Removed], explaining they keep cancelling events and are not providing a service… A service which has a deadline as most people may find a partner elsewhere. Deplorable time to refund for their cancellation over a month – They cancelled the event- I declined their two tickets offer in place of a refund. 10+ reminders & over 5 weeks to finally receive a partial refund- dedications are misleading in USD. Response time poor at best.

Do not under any circumstances use this company – I booked and paid, the event was cancelled and they kept telling me they will release future events 8 months on never happened and refuse to give me a refund.

They send the gay person to straight event for matchmaking! – From May 2021 till Nov 2021, the event was cancelled twice and when it finally happened they got it wrong. I was told that it was a gay speed dating. I went there and it was a straight event. [Name Removed] refused to refund. On PayPal you can dispute it only if the purchase was done less than 180 days ago.

Dispute the Charge with PayPal/Eventbrite – Approving the reviews bellow, and to let you know, dispute via PayPal or Eventbrite for a refund. Good luck and don't forget that nobody has found love via these gimmicks and if they say so they are delusional or lying.

They're [Content Removed] – I bought 2 tickets for my friend and I but the even kept getting postponed and each time we got notified on the exact day of event. Eventually We asked for a refund but they refused and then stop replying to my emails.

I would get a refund (ie they have set up an automatic refund process for any actual disputes with payment processors).

This is an organised [Content Removed] that relies on victims not following up. By refunding those who actually dispute transactions they're avoiding getting properly investigated by paypal.

So the lesson is if you dispute the transaction you'll get your money back but I urge anyone who's been ripped off by these guys to complain to eventbrite and any other site hosting their events.

Complete [Content Removed] – Kept cancelling events saying people asked for it to be rescheduled. I checked with a venue prior to an event and nothing was ever booked there. Terrible, avoid – 2 events cancelled with less than one days notice, one event cancelled with no notice given. Refund not available due to 'terms and conditions'. Please do your research before booking. Perhaps contact the venue and ask if this company cancels events frequently to verify my review.
