Navman MiVue 820 Questions & Answers
VerifiedMPN: MiVUE820Hi, I have been using a Navman MiVue 820 DC dual-channel dash cam for the last 7 years. I am experiencing an issue with the rear camera.
The main screen does not display any footage from the rear camera; it is completely dark. However, when I disconnect the rear camera by removing the cable at the rear camera end, the main screen displays a message saying the rear camera is disconnected. Therefore, I assume there is no issue with the cable connecting the two devices.
My question is: which rear camera is suitable for this device in Australia? I have seen one called the Navman A20 Rear Camera. Is it compatible with this device?
The A20 is the correct rear camera to use with the Navman 820 dual camera system.
Hi Iqbal, Thank you for reaching out to us. The Navman A20 rear camera (AC001020) is compatible with the Mivue 820 DC. We are sorry to inform you that the A20 rear camera is already out of production and no longer available for purchase from the Navman online store.
To further isolate the problem with your rear camera, we suggest trying the steps below:
• Make sure you are using a compatible memory card in the Dash Camera. An incompatible card can cause multiple issues. For recommended SD cards, please refer to the link external link . • Perform a hard reset. To reset, insert a small rod (such as a straightened paperclip) into the shutdown button beside the barcode (the camera) to shut down the device. Leave the device off for 5 seconds then press and hold the power button to turn it on. • We understand that you have tried disconnecting and reconnecting the cables, but connection could be intermittent. Please make sure any excess rear camera cable is not coiled tightly. Sometimes a connection may be loose, or a poor connection can cause issues. • Bypass the rear camera connection cable if possible. Connect the rear camera directly to the Y- splitter. This is to identify if the problem is with the rear camera or with the rear camera cable.
If the above steps won’t work, please send us a direct message or send an email to our email support team at pcnsupportaus@navman.com.au with your Full Name, Phone Number, Shipping Address, Device’s Model Number, Serial Number, so we can assist you further.

Hello, the footage from my Navman mivue 820DC is very blue and when playing back footage to see if I could read the number plate of a car that came over the centre line towards me, I couldn’t make it a single letter/digit. Is there any way to improve the quality of the footage in settings? I’ve looked but can’t find anything useful. Thanks
I had a similar problem with my rear camera - the sky was bright pink. I found that the usb cable was a bit loose and pushing it in properly fixed the picture. If you’re referring to the front camera, it probably isn’t a cable connection causing the problem. I’m not aware of a setting that would be causing the issue with colours (make sure you have selected the highest resolution available). It might be worth asking Navman about this.
Hi Tarmac, Thank you for reaching out to us! Please head over to our online self-help resource at external link where you can find an answer to most of your questions and concerns. For this concern, all Navman dash cameras come with a blue film on the lens to protect it during production and transport. in most cases where customers have blue footage, checking and removing this resolves the issue.

I have just removed my Mivue820 card and connected it to my computer. There is one file in the Events folder which has both front and rear video that I can view. The files in the Video folder, however, (i) all have today's date in the file properties and (ii) are all blank - they play but just show a black screen. Any suggestions?
Hi Jim, Thank you for posting your query. If the video files only show black screen if played through the Mivue Manager software, and if the video files work fine when played on another media player, please try to download and install the K-Lite Codec Pack Full (Codec Pack Release Date Oct3)
